Go to the farm, bring your products and sell. Don't sit at the market giving people rules to follow. The market is not your father's house, the market is for everyone. In some markets you can't sell unless you are a member of a union. What sort of rubbish is this? 2 Likes 1 Share |

These unions are a threat to the south.. They should not bring their practices from other places to the south. They want to control our markets. Nothing else. We need a farmers market in every city. Cutting off middlemen will go a long way in reducing price of foodstuffs 1 Like |
Politics / Why Unions Should Not Be Allowed In The South. by Charleys: 2:00pm On Aug 05 |
When I was young, a market was a place where you took your farm produce to go and sell. People went to the farm, worked hard, and brought their goods to the market, where buyers and sellers interacted freely. It was a straightforward system based on supply and demand, and prices were determined by the quality and availability of the produce. But these days, I've noticed that you can no longer go to the market to sell your goods freely, all because of unions. These unions are often composed of individuals who, rather than toiling in the farms, choose to sit and regulate the market, imposing their own rules and making prices skyrocket. They create barriers for honest farmers who simply want to sell their produce at a fair price. There’s a particularly touching story that underscores this issue. A lady, let’s call her Grace, worked tirelessly on her farm to produce garri. With a heart full of hope and hands full of her hard-earned produce, she went to the market to sell her garri at a reasonable price, hoping to earn enough to support her family. But instead of welcoming her, the union saw her as a threat. The women who controlled the market, driven by their own interests, decided she was undercutting their artificially high prices. They beat her up, humiliated her, and stripped her naked in public. This act of aggression was not just embarrassing for Grace; it was a stark reminder of the power these unions wield and their willingness to maintain their stranglehold on the market. Seeing this, I can't help but ask myself: Why don't these people want her to sell at a lower price? What happened to the free market where everyone had a chance to earn a living through hard work? The answer seems to lie in the monopolistic control these unions have established. They view any attempt to sell at lower prices as a direct threat to their profits, regardless of the impact on consumers or honest producers. it might be essential to restrict or even prevent unions with excessive pricing control from participating in the market. By doing so, we can create a more balanced and competitive environment where honest producers can thrive, and consumers can enjoy fair prices. No one group should hold the market hostage, and everyone deserves a fair chance to earn a living through their hard work. In essence, to maintain a healthy and competitive market, we must consider limiting the influence of unions that push for unreasonable pricing. This will ensure that the market remains open, fair, and beneficial for all participants, allowing consumers to access goods and services at reasonable prices while providing opportunities for all producers to succeed. 1 Like 1 Share

Great project. Any water boreholes in the should be celebrated. Water is hard to find in that area of kogi state even though they have wells. |

Adaisback: What you are saying is bullshit. It's only in anambra that you'll see an unused land. When I say an unused land I mean a land where there is nothing planted on it, not guava, pawpaw or mango or cassava anything. This kind of land is called a cursed land. Considering that 90% of rainfall goes directly into farmlands or is absorbed by the land itself. You people should be ashamed of yourself. Waiting for Peter obi to do a farming revolution for you. What you did was name dropping Peter obi on this thread. Stop with the lies and let truth flourish |

Politics / MTN: Attack On Nigerians by Charleys: 5:07pm On Jul 28 |
MTN is doing a test run for the upcoming protest. There's a protest coming up which I do not support, but why does MTN decide to bar people's line at this very moment when they know people's sim card has been linked. I suspect they are planning to disorganize people to go and unbar their lines rather than go out for protest. This action is going to anger Nigerians more. Because an idle man is a devil's advocate. MTN should as a matter of urgency unbarr people's line. Not everyone supports the protest. People are just going about their businesses. Blocking a person's line will give that person no other choice than to go out and protest. MTN be warned. Do not play politics with this, it would be better if MTN just do their jobs by giving us good network coverage. 6 Likes 1 Share |
