Literature › The Joy Of Soldierhood, By Richie by chatinent(op): 8:43pm On Jul 19, 2018 |
THE JOY OF SOLDIERHOOD . (c) Richie Jay . Gentlemen, grab a seat, let me tell you a story. . Story story... . In a country, in a city, in a home will emerge sb who wants to serve for the lands, the practice of military. He goes to buy the form. He applies. He is shortlisted. He goes to get screened. Successfully, he is recruited. He is yet to undergo training. Then he...... Hmm. . (sips my cup of tumbo to two swallows) . The training date is pronounced. He gets all rudiments ready and prays to pass out alive. The training has begun. It was a living hell. It was tougher enough to imagine. Shouting, discipline to the core, flogging, bleeding, recruits dying -- such memory. Such bitter guts! Such had-they-knowns! He passes out after many months; such sweet sorrow! He wears the khaki and sees its spirits. 'Assumptions' now are dead. His prayers have been registered, he thought; 'he don make am.' He is posted to a unit to serve. Thence, he is shifted to terrorism dwelling place. In a bullet exchange, he sees plenty of his regulars fall -- they are dead, and lifeless. He is going to see them no more. . (drinks my wine again to four mouthful) . His heart skips many beats that he may not see his loved ones again; that the ambulance might be his next transport. Is this really worth the blind bullet? Many voices in his head. He struggled. Morale is higher but spirit is scared to go to the greater beyond. He held unto his rifle as though, his chi. Like the saying, if one agrees, his chi agrees too. He held his rifle so tight like it was his chi and if he didn't hold so tight, it would leave him any sooner. The enemies are out of sight. The troop falls back as some took cover. . (coughs, coughs.) . They were many casualties. Oh no, there is a sniper from the enemy team and he is positioned and.... Poooooooow! It is his neck. He bleeds and struggles for survival. Survival is golden this time. As he falls to the ground, his rifle leaves his hands to the ground, as though his chi has left him. He bleeds more. Cover. . (stammers) . He was trying to.., to.., to utter some words but.., but.., he is dead. He is gone. There he is lying lifeless. 'Tis lachrymal and impossicant to just die like a fowl. So inhumane. Many a man fighting for all. One minute alive, one minute dead.
. This is the Joy of SoldierHood. . . . .
.
Joyful, isn't it? Such irony! .
Gentlemen, when you sleep, they are awake. When you cry for newer cloths, they hunger for life. You wake up to the sounds of butterflies; they wake to gun shots. You are given a befitting burial; when dead, maybe after a war, fighting for you, they are wrapped in lining. . I rest my pen to the painful pages on my book wet in tears. . Travel › See How To Locate Your NAITES Screening Venues In Both Makurdi & In Biu. by chatinent(op): 10:18am On Jul 14, 2018*. Modified: 1:43pm On Jul 14, 2018 |
NAITES Screening date announced: 28th of July, 2018. If you really check online, you will hardly find any forum or website as reliable as Chatdom Naija for The Nigerian Army Institute of Technology and Environmental Studies (Naites) news. Do you know why? Because they only assume! Herein, our administrators are Naites students! I have received couple of emails pertaining locating Naites school in both Makurdi and in Biu, Borno state. . In Makurdi Wherever you are coming from in Nigeria, just board a bus going to Makurdi, and make sure they will stop at North Bank (Benue Links have a branch there, so you may try travelling with them). Remember that if you tell them a wrong location, the expense will be yours. If you reach North Bank, ask about Nasme Barracks. It is a stone throw from there. Not just a short stone throw, though; a longer stone throw. Do note that they are specific cyclists that do enter the barracks and they are with cloth tags. Do not take any cycle that will not take you inside the barracks. Board only the ones that has the cloth tags written 'Nasme barracks.' These ones will take you inside the barrack. From the gate to the admin panel is very distant. So if you board the ones that will stop you at the gate side (before check-points), you go waka tire! Be wise! Dress decently. If you dress improperly, you may not be allowed into the barracks. I suppose, you may find your way around from here. . In Biu Please let us get sth straight, you are not coming to MAIDUIGURI! Don't go around telling the drivers you are going to Maiduiguri; you are coming to Borno State. Biu is a local government in Borno State. For people from far, take a bus to Jos, Plateau State. Usually, in Jos, try to ask the driver you would want to stop or locate 'Plateau Riders Park.' If you are still confused, ask passengers stopping at that same Jos that you want to go to Plateau Riders Park. The park is where you will board your next vehicle. If you arrive late, it is advised you sleep in the park till it dawns. The road is dangerous. Next, find a Gombe Bus going to Gombe. Please note that this is the easiest routes Naites Students follow coming from places farther. The bus usually is from N2000 or N1500 respectively, depending. It is about a three to four hours journey. Finally if you have reached Gombe, locate Dadin Kowa motor park (use your initiatives, you no bi small pikin). From Dadin Kowa park, do locate the versions going to Biu. From there to Biu is about N1500. Do make sure your express yourself that you are going to Naites Biu. Ta da! That's it! . Note that people living around may have other routes. This descriptions can help people from farther place, the east, the west or even people who reaches Makurdi and wants to from there to come to Biu! . Bring along you your certificates. All certificates if necessary, photostat and original. Come with your Waec ID card, primary sch certs, junior sec, birth certs (or declaration of age), certificate of origin among others. You may be asked to pay for some things. Come with extra funds. There is a UBA bank closer there. . Ask questions in below link: http://chatinent.com.ng/index.php?showtopic=519&st=0&#entry1008 |

Health › See Five (5) Tested And Trusted Natural Ways To Cure Ulcer Quickly! by chatinent(op): 8:15pm On May 08, 2018 |
NATURAL ULCER TREATMENT . https://www.mayoclinic.org/-/media/kcms/gbs/patient-consumer/images/2013/11/15/17/42/ds00242_-ds00958_im02752_r7_ulcersthu_jpg.jpg In times of fasting and prayer, this is ulcer treatment you can rely on. Gotten from benedictine monks at Ewu Ishan in Edo state, Nigeria.
. 1. - Get raw pawpaw and wash it. (It must be raw, not ripe) .
2. - Do not peel it and do not remove the seeds.
. 3. - After washing the outside neatly, slice it without peeling it into small small pieces. The cutting should be small like sugar cubes.
. 4. - Put all the small pieces of the raw pawpaw into any clean container. Fill the container with water to stop at the same point the sliced pawpaw stopped.
. 5. - Leave the pawpaw in the water for four days. For example if u soak it on a Monday, I count Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be the fourth day. On the Fourth day, the water will be looking white in colour. Seive it and throw away the pawpaw and the water becomes your cure for ulcer. . .
DOSAGE: Drink half a glass of the pawpaw water every morning, afternoon and evening. You will no longer feel those ulcer pains because it will heal the wounds inside that are causing the pain. .
This morning, afternoon and evening drinking of the pawpaw water can continue for weeks and months depending on how severe the ulcer is. It is not relief. It is a cure.
. Additional note: an ulcer is an internal wound usually in the stomach or intestines. .
Causes. Common causes of ulcer are infection with the bacterium Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) and long-term use of aspirin and certain other painkillers, such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, others) and naproxen sodium (Aleve, Anaprox, others). Stress and spicy foods do not cause peptic ulcers. However, they can make your symptoms worse.
. Note: Pls avoid taking strong pain killers without prescription. If you take time to read the side effects you will see that the drugs for pain relief cause ulcer or wounds in the body. .
This treatment mentioned is not a reason not to go to hospital, because not all internal pains are ulcers. .
Let someone know and help someone get cured today. It is tested and trusted! . Profound gratitude to St Augustine Catholic Parish, Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia, for their aid. . Origin: http://chatinent.com.ng/index.php?act=ST&f=45&t=513&st=0#entry1001 |

Biu-geography. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/06/Nigeria_-_Borno.svg/250px-Nigeria_-_Borno.svg.png . . Brief Details: . Country: Nigeria State: Borno State Population as of 2006: 176,072 Time zone: CET( UTC+1) . Ten things you must know while in Biu. . 1. The people of the region are mostly the Babur, Bura, Fulani, Tera, Marghi, Mina people. To surprise you, they are Christians too in Biu. . . 2. There are two schools there of recognition, NAITES (prospective Nigerian Army University) and the College of Education, WAKA. Naites, is even well respected than the latter. . 3. So far, there are four banks in Biu; one branch of SkyeBank, a branch of Access Bank, a branch of UBA, and a branch of Keystone Bank. The worst of all is, month end(when salary is paid), there id always a long never-ending queue in these banks. The worst of all is the branch of SkyeBank, people even don't regard it useful because its ATM usually is out of service. While other banks, the people will withdraw to the extent that the money finishes. Secondly, these banks close at 2pm. . 4. English speakers are rare. Mostly and widely spoken language is Bura. . 5. Food sorts you must learn to eat are Tuwo masara, Tuwo shinkafa, etc and other of their delicacies. You will hardly see fufu or garri. Even if you see garri, it is a mixture of powdered chaff and cassava. You cannot see gala there. Even the Shinkafa (rice), some prepare is by boiling rice, then the stew is red oil, pepper and a mixture of yaji and pepper (uncooked). . 6. There is a place in Biu called the Suya University. This place, you will see people who have talent with anything Suya. . 7. Their females usually go with Hijab to cover their body, even in schools. . 8. Almajiri. These children of almajiri are said to be of a nomadic school. I do pity them. You will see most of them in anywhere food is prepared or sth eatable sold. If you eat and remain, they feed from its remains. . 9. Security is tighten. Due to the recent happenings of Boko Haram and bomb blasts, the Nigerian Army deployed mantra soldiers here. The NPF too, backed up by the soldiers are doing a good job . 10. The Emir of Biu. The emirates system is also found in Biu and I was opportune to visit it and had one of its relative as course mate.
. You think you know more about Biu? Add yours. . Source: http://chatinent.com.ng/index.php?act=ST&f=46&t=511&st=0#entry999. |
