Politics / Re: Kenyan Lamentations About Nigeria Dominance In Music And Africa Politics by Chesman10(m): 6:38pm On Sep 04, 2015
Personal opinion if you ask me. Every nation has what makes it unique. And by the way, what is the population of Kenya? They can't expect Kenya to be a global player in entertainment industry where we have Nigeria and South Africa. Nigeria with talents and market and South Africa with Technology and industry, other African nations should fall in line. If you doubt me, ask Jamaica what happened to them when USA is at the corner with big market, Technology and entertainment industry.

This complains and warnings are becoming irritating. And they are capable of driving core investors away from Nigeria. The government should know how to present information to the public. The world are waiting for good things to come out Nigeria

Politics / Re: Buhari Never Said He Would Declare His Assets Publicly, APC Did - Presidency by Chesman10(m): 4:05pm On Aug 15, 2015
Honestly, I supported Buhari not because of his campaign promises. But I thought that public asset declaration would be one of the easiest thing he would do. I am really surprised. Yardua made his asset public though he never made it a campaign promise.

Politics / Re: This Latest Blunder By Femi Adesina Will Put Buhari In Trouble by Chesman10(m): 3:29pm On Aug 15, 2015
Asset declaration would not have been an issue if PMB didn't make it a campaign promise. Now instead of Adesina to allow the sleeping dog to lie, he has made it another point of discussion. There is no way this issue of public asset declaration could be properly defended, except PMB goes ahead to fulfill this promise whether it was done in ,100 days or 1000 days. Nigerians can wait Adesina by now would know the difference between newspaper editor and SSA on Media. This confirms the saying that good critics make bad leaders.,
Politics / Re: It’s Cold Being In The Opposition —metuh by Chesman10(m): 2:37am On Aug 05, 2015
Good, that is the reason why the leaders should build the institutions that make up the society rather than building the political parties. It is pathetic that 50% of APC members are former PDP members. Once someone is not with the ruling party, that person becomes irrelevant. Sycophancy becomes the order of the day. As it is in politics, so it is in sports and entertainment industries. Our veterans are not reckoned with in the affairs of the nation. It is 'the winner takes all.
APC would be swaggering now as if they will be there for ever
But as is to PDP, so will it be with them. One day, like a spark of light, they will return to their natural position, opposition. And Metuh's elegy would become their anthem

Niagarafall:
97% + 5% = .............na wa oooooooooooii, dis Buhari self

You are making a mistake in calculation just like other folks here. Buhari referred to the percentage of the votes he got from that region, not the percentage of his total votes that came from that region. In other words, of the 100% votes from the east, only 5% was for him, Buhari, while out of 100% votes from the north, 97% went to him.

Abugab:
Wasnt Merrylyn Ogar a PDP spokes person?
Olisa Metuh should go and answer PDP personnel's accusation of stealing PDP money while they are planning to sack half and reduce salary by half
The 70 million he collected for the month of July to be telling lies against APC is working.

In other words, you were saying that there is no difference between APC and PDP? Bro, Nigeria is yearning for a change of business as usual to a more professional way of governance. It socks when the new govt is being compared with the former administration especially in a negative note.

Buhari is not yet ready to face Boko Haram. Nigerians should give him more time to clear the 16 years mess of PDP By September, just like Obama did, he would ask for records and files from previous govt on the prosecution of the war. After then will Nigerians start to witness the war against terrorism. Meanwhile Boko Haram is busy gaining ground every day.

ddippset:
nonsense!. mr president's first and immediate responsibility is to probe the particular regime that handed over directly to him. after that he could then stretch it to other places. it is one step at a time, it's not a smear campaign of any sort!
Your comment indicates that either you didn't read the article or you didn't understand after reading. What the writer is saying is that Edo Gov. should stop accusing someone of embezzlement when he didn't have enough evidence to back up his claims. And if he had sufficient evidence, then the matter should be taken to court for trial. It is only court of competent jurisdiction that can pronounce one as a thief or corrupt.
Politics / Re: Between President Buhari And Amnesty Programme by Chesman10(m): 12:16pm On Jul 13, 2015
There is nothing Baba will hear. The reason why Nigerians voted for change is to do away with corruption, mediocrity and impunity. Therefore, no group should expect patronage or royalty payments which are grand children of corruption and impunity. Be prepared for New Nigeria.

Because of insults and callousness, many good political analysists in the mode of Barcanista and Eziachi have started to abandon NAIRALAND for a better sane and decent forum, leaving NAIRALAND for shallow minded strollers. Imagine the shallowness of all the posts in this good thread. Many posters analyse politics based on personal feelings. The day Bacarnista would leave NAIRALAND will mean .........

Politics / Re: What Singular Reason Do You Think Is Responsible For Boko Haram by Chesman10(m): 9:18am On Jul 12, 2015
The reason why north is a breeding ground is because of the brand of Islam being practiced. Before the era of Uthman Dan Fodio, Hausa states_ Gobir, Zazzau, Kano, Rano and Kanuri state of Maiduguri where practising a moderate brand of Islam_ the such being practiced in Yoruba states today_. Dan Fodio believed that sharia was supreme as a sincere and we'll educated Islamic scholar. He started picking holes in the judicial and the administrative system in Gobir gvt. That led to the jihad that successfully rooted out a corrupted Islamic government and usher in the brand of Islam we all witness in today Northern Nigeria today. Successive Caliphate could not maintain Dan Fodio's standard due to westernization of the caliphate. The consequence is what we all know as Boko Haram

For those who attribute terrorism to poverty or failure of govt should know that the money used in running terrorism for 4 weeks can feed the whole nation for 1 month. Yet terrorists do not make themselves rich. No one is to blame for insurrection. It's all about indoctrination and misinterpretation which is prevalent in all religions worldwide. Islam is different because it subsumes all aspects of man_ religious, political, cultural and even economic aspect of man. The deterrents always dream of an egalitarian society which most realists know is elusive.
Most of terrorists leaders are well educated and very intelligent and rich. Bin Laden comes to mind.

Politics / Re: Before APC Falls Apart: A Reply To Dele Momodu by Remi Oyeyemi by Chesman10(m): 6:56am On Jul 12, 2015
Aspireahead:
I read both articles but I still stick with Momudu's "let bygone", in truth, this writer doesn't suggest a way forward.
if APC wants to punish the 'Judases' as they will like to call them let them do so, if not let them save us from reading long epistles on the social social media that won't in any way help our dwindling economy nor our free falling currency.
Thanks for an intelligent observation.
I make sure I read twice any article posted here and this is the dumbest from this writer. After so long an article, the writer could not suggest the way forward. He wanted to make mockery of Dele Momodu but ended up deriding himself. So much much jerks without movement. I wonder what APC chieftains think of NASS _ A party secretariat. Any strategy of the party that ignores the power of opposition will not see the light of the day. All they need is to lobby some opposition members to sell their ideas otherwise this is the beginning. Remember Shakespeare_ fair is foul and foul is fair. " That which has made them sleep has made me bold and what quench them has given me fire"
Politics / Re: What Singular Reason Do You Think Is Responsible For Boko Haram by Chesman10(m): 6:02am On Jul 12, 2015
@OP, if you really want to know the the single cause of Boko Haram, I will tell you. Boko Haram or terrorism worldwide is caused by wrong interpretation of the Holy Quran. In history, there have been similar organisations who have succeeded in their quest to overthrow what they interpreted as old corrupt Islamic or secular regime to implement what they understood as pure and uncorrupted Islamic administration.
Even Uthman Dan Fodio did same in Northern Nigeria.
All Nations of middle East have their own version of BokoHaram. Fortunately, they have strong internal security to quell any insurrection. The worst target is Saudi Arabia. This is why they have American soldiers in Saudi. All Arabian rulers have their eyes in Saudi Kingdom, Iran, Iraq during Saddam Hussein ISIS, Al Queda during BinvLaden and other Kings are struggling to oust America from Saudi Arabia so that they could invade the holy Kingdom. That is why they hate USA.
The problem with Boko Haram is that the world has passed those stage when their cause is tolerated. We are moving into another phase of human development and jihad is no longer fashionable otherwise they have a noble agenda.
No time did they say they want to Islamise Nigeria. All they demanded for are 12 states of the north for full implementation of Sharia. I do not condemn them and Biafrans, Niger Delta and Oduduwa people should support them. As a Muslim, one desire to live in a society where the law of Allah is supreme.
