chukwudi44:Amnesty international have since lost their reputation due to their deliberate twisting of events. Boko haram declared war against Nigeria and made good their threat by unleashing mayhem and death on so many innocent souls. Now officials who acted to protect d citizenry r accused of genoside. When OBJ vented his venom on zaki biam and Odi (even when there was no war) and killed innocent souls in cold blood, where was Amnesty international. Rubbish. |
In 1969, The Nigerian Air Force bombed Afor
Umu Ohiagu market in Ngor Okpala, more
than 10,000 market men and women were
killed that fateful morning alone, days later, a
Kwashiokor feeding center at Nkwo-Ogwu
Mbaise was bombed, thousand of people who
were there to collect cornmeal were all
slaughtered, days later another Refugee camp
was bombed, thousands of poor refugees
were slaughtered. What a GENOCIDE. All
these were were done to Biafrans (Igbos) by
Nigeria, not Mugabe. These bombing were
targeted at defenseless civilians; Yet all the
perpetrators of the crimes are called war
heroes in Nigeria, instead of war CRIMINALS.
Where was Amnesty International, Do they
also know the theorem of “Starvation is a
legitimate weapon for war”? |
Amnesty International has called on the Federal Government to commence a “prompt, independent and effective investigation” of former and serving service chiefs for their responsibility in war crimes during the fight against Boko Haram in the North-East. The organisation said that these crimes included the killing of 8,000 persons, who were “murdered, starved, suffocated and tortured to death.” AI identified those to be tried for these alleged crimes as former Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika (retd.); former Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ola Sa’ad Ibrahim (retd.); Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh; and Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Kenneth Minimah. The organisation said it had also petitioned the International Criminal Court with a request for their prosecution for war crimes in Nigeria.AI’s demand is contained in a report entitled, ‘Stars on their shoulders, Blood on their hands: War crimes committed by the Nigerian military’, released on Wednesday in Abuja. source: www.punchng.com/news/ai-wants-badeh-ihejirika-others-tried-for-war-crimes/ |

The All Progressives Congress leader in Bayelsa State, Mr. Richard Kpodo, has alleged threat to his life for attacking a former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva. Kpodo had allegedly revealed in a recent interview that Sylva, who is the APC leader in the state, planned the stoning of President Muhammadu Buhari when the latter was campaigning in the state in 2011 on the platform of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change. Kpodo, who was in charge of Security under Sylva and former Chairman of New PDP, had alleged that the former governor hired the thugs that attacked Buhari with stones. He had also accused Sylva of double-facedness, saying the former governor lacked the moral rights to accuse former President Goodluck Jonathan of betraying him since he (Sylva) was a serial betrayer of his supporters. Raising the alarm of a threat to his life, Kpodo claimed on Wednesday that he had received many text messages warning him that they would kill him because of attacks on the personality of Sylva. “Yes, I have received threat messages both in texts and calls, warning me to stop opening my mouth to attack their leader, Sylva,” he said. When asked about the people he was suspecting, Kpodo, who did not mention any names, said he was suspecting some loyalists of Sylva. He added, “I am suspecting Sylva’s loyalists. One of them, I think was even the person that went to bail the suspects arrested for hauling stones at Buhari during the campaign in 2011. I have some of the text messages on my phone. My prime suspect is a newly elected member of the state House of Assembly. “The truth is bitter. The intention is to deter me from saying the truth but I cannot be deterred. I have been a politician in this state for a long time and I am not afraid of threats. “What I am saying is that this man (Sylva) fought against Bahari when Buhari needed support. What if he had died? Anybody cannot claim to love Buhari more than the other. What of some of us who risked our lives to form the New PDP that merged with APC today? We, who fought for Buhari through thick and thin, do we not love Buhari? Are we not his supporters? “The reason we failed woefully in Bayelsa during the elections was that the money given to the people was even embezzled by these same people who now say they love Buhari.” The APC chief said to prove that the former Governor masterminded the stoning, he claimed that the youths arrested after the incident, were released unconditionally. source: www.punchng.com/news/my-life-in-danger-for-attacking-sylva-apc-leader/ |

By Henry Umoru ABUJA- NATIONAL leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP alleged yesterday that the governing party, the All Progressives Congress, APC was planning to plunge the country into anarchy with its planned moves to arm-twist the various election tribunals to subvert the will of the people and upturn democratically elected governments in some states, just as it stressed that it was dangerous to democracy. According to PDP, the APC was already hounding the PDP senators-elect and threatening to use its new federal might to influence to coax the tribunals against them if they fail to do its bidding in the ongoing politicking to raise new leadership in the Senate. In a statement yesterday by PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh , the party which vowed to rigidly resist such an action, said that as a party, it was privy to intelligence reports showing certain clandestine moves and nocturnal meetings in Lagos and Abuja on how the APC has put in place ways on how it would compromise the sanctity of the electoral tribunals in their compositions and locations to suit the purpose of the ruling party. Metuh said, “We are aware that there are moves by the APC to cause the doctoring of the membership of the gubernatorial elections tribunals in some PDP states, particularly Akwa- Ibom, Abia, Rivers and Delta with the aim to bring in friendly officers, possibly to push through their agenda against our great party. “Also we question the so-called security reasons adduced for the decision to relocate the Akwa- Ibom state Governorship, National and State Assembly elections tribunals out of the state and wonder why Akwa-Ibom was singled out. “Nigerians and the international community would recall that we had earlier alerted of furtive moves by the APC to procure and compromise some stakeholders in the elections including INEC and security personnel to bear false witness and doctor electoral materials against the PDP at the tribunals. “In the same vein, we had earlier alerted of a groundswell of plots by the APC to foist a one party rule in our country by attempting to destabilize the PDP, take over some of our states and legislative seats, all to ensure that there is no strong opposition when they eventually assume power. “It is apparently in line with this heinous agenda that the APC has started hounding our senators- elect with threats to use the tribunals against them if they fail to do their bidding in the parliament. “It is worrisome that this ‘jackboot mentality’ and rape of our democracy which is averse to the spirit of the healing process is happening with the knowledge of President Muhammadu Buhari, who is a direct beneficiary of the huge sacrifice the PDP made to ensure that the nation remains peaceful and stable. “We want President Buhari to note that the plot by his party to alter the will of the people and unlawfully take over states genuinely won by the PDP is obviously an invitation to anarchy capable of truncating our hard-earned democracy as it would be stiffly resisted by the people. “We invite the international community and lovers of democracy worldwide to note the ugly developments and hold the APC responsible should there be any break down of law and order in the polity. The PDP wishes to restate in the strongest possible terms that we are not vanquished and will therefore resist these plots with all the energy and force availed by the law. “Let it be known that there is no way we can fold our hands and watch while the mandates freely given to our governors and National Assembly members fall prey to the ravenous ambition of the APC. “It is on this note that we once again draw the attention of the leaderships of the judiciary, INEC and security forces to the plots intended to compromise their men, drag in their institutions and pitch them against the people. We therefore charge them to protect their sanctity by closely monitoring their officials to ensure that they are not in anyway manipulated in this direction”. I like this Fayose guy.... He fears no man born of a woman!!!! |
Idrismusty97:I thought I was discussing with a reasonable person. An Almajiri will always remain one! |
Ado Ekiti—GOVERNOR Ayodele Fayose yesterday affirmed that he is a one man army who cannot be overwhelmed by alleged machinations of the outgoing legislators of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the State House of Assembly. Receiving national officers of the PDP in his office in Ado Ekiti, the governor insisted he was firmly on ground even as he warned that the country must not be turned into a one party state. The assertions came amid reports of the abortion of the planned movement into the state by the APC legislators yesterday. Vanguard learned that the buses conveying the legislators were turned back at the Igbara Oke boundary between Ondo and Ekiti States yesterday. Nonetheless, supporters of Fayose continued to lay siege to the premises of the House throughout yesterday in an apparent bid to stop the legislators from entering the chambers. Luxury buses belonging to the state government were used to block all the major roads leading to the legislative complex and only selected vehicles were allowed to pass through a side of the road. Stern looking policemen also mounted blockades to screen pedestrians and motorists entering the assembly complex. Welcoming the PDP national leaders to the state, Fayose said the people of the state, who voted him as their governor in June 21,2014 are solidly behind him. Speaking earlier, the acting national chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, denied ever appealing to the 19 APC lawmakers not to impeach the governor. He said the PDP only advised the lawmakers to follow due process and the rule of law in their engagements towards the governor. Others in the delegation included the National Secretary, Prof. Wale Oladipo, National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Abubakar Mustapha, National Auditor, Mr. Fatai Adeyanju, among others. Fayose said the visit was apt and timely and noted that the party’s bigwigs had demonstrated their avowed stand to defend the country’s democracy from being debased. He said: “We will not allow them (the APC lawmakers) to trample on the constitution. That the country is witnessing peace today is a collaborative effort between former President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP. The PDP is united after the loss at the election and we are gradually picking the pieces together. “But we are assuring you that we are solidly on ground. You know it will get to a stage when the people will act like the Constitution themselves.” Source: www.vanguardngr.com/2015/06/im-one-man-army-against-apc-fayose/ cc Lalasticlala Ishilove Barcanista |
