Hello Mommas!
Everyone please thank my God for me because he has been awesome through it all. My prince charming has arrived!
He was born on my due date August 15th! the story is as follows:
On thursday evening i went for a walk with my toddler. I put her in her stroller and walked a ton, i knew the next day was my due date so i wasnt playing safe or anything! after a 2 hours walk. I got home, had a nice hot bath and settled in for some dinner. it was about 10pm. I, hubby and my daughter had a good box of pizza and were watching a TV program. I decided to retire at past 1am to bed, leaving hubby and dd in the living room. At 1.40pm, i woke up to a sharp intense back pain. it was nothing like contractions, but i rmbr i felt dat pain and pressure with my first before i was given an epidural. I called hubby and told him i think its time we get to the hospital. He thought it was one of my pranks, as i spoke, i had an intense contraction. i couldn't talk or walk, after it had gone away i ran to put on my clothes and headed for the car. Then hubby knew it was serious, he grabbed our daughter and my hospital bag, we dropped her off at my aunts house and headed for d hospital. We were there at past 2am, and the nurses doubted i was in labor cos i wasn't shouting. When they checked me, i was 8cm dilated, everyone was shouting and askig dat the delivery room be made ready for me, i progressed so fast dat i didnt get an epidural. at 3:21am my son arrived, very natural...only dat i tore at d same place i did previously, but not as deep. Didn't tear until dey found out the cord as wrapped around his head so they had to stick a finger and unwrap, and he was struggling,dat was when i opened up at d previous spot. In all, i thank God. His naming is 2mrw and am healing fast.

i hail una o mommas! i still dey push my belle around. My due date is actually 2mw, Dr says am 3cm dilated and 70% effaced, i need dis baby soon abeg make i rest! dunno why i m reluctant to try the EPO, but i ate a pineapple and it didn't do nothing.
Other august moms how r u doing?

@iyaibeji, i have heard of a situation like that. It was actually a friend of mine here, i suggested she wait it out too but she went in for a D n C. I suggest u wait and see what happens. Sometimes ultrasounds can be wrong at the early stage. Just pray and be positive. Do not stress.
@ all, any suggestions on trying to induce labor? i am so ready! 38weeks today...

@ Sexysisi, great job for a good decision, u will never regret it! Welcome. I hvn't had a CS but i hear d nornal delievery is way better, so let ur body do its work!
@ Sennykenny, pls relax! dont pani, twins always come earlier. If u really do not want your Dr to induce you, you ave to start working dat baby down. Push yourself and take long walks, clean intensively around d house...ull see d magic!

@Willididdi, i must commend u for joing a forum mostly dominated by women and participating fully, it only goes to show the commitment in your role as a dad and in the life of ur wife. I appreciate all dat uve done to prove your love to your wife, God will provide and strengthen u for greater works!
@Esmeralda, breas*t feeding takes a lot of patience and determination, i feel there is no better pump than your baby mouth. Be patient with her, she will come around.

Hello to everyone, sorry if i didnt mention your name, still trying to catch up.
As for me, the nausea is off the chain, from my calculations i should be 8 weeks gone, still yet to start antenatal and i am spitting like no mans business. I can't help it in as much as i know its disgusting! I am worried sick abt my weight, my baby is 15 months old and i didnt finish losing the pregnancy weight, now i am down with another one, i do not wish to add a single weight, i dont kjnow ho wpossible it is, but i dont want my baby to be too big and i hve to tear again, i heard of some mothers who only lost weight during their pregnancy instead of gaining, how can i achieve this? bikooooo i need help!

@Spicyberry, i personally think you should give your body time to recover from all the medications and remedies, how long have you missed your period?

Quick question beautiful ladies, i hope its not too much information but i have been wondering, does any one have an idea how a second birth might go after having a tear from the first delivery? i had a 2nd degree tear with my first and i do not know what to expect with the second...pls o any ideas

busolayemi: So I went for my first antinatal today....Doctor said it's either am far advanced than I tot (she said she felt 19wks), or I'm carrying multiple pregnancy or my baby is gonna b big....I dnt even kno if am happy about all dese sef....Dnt plan doin any scan just yet buh I guess I dnt rily av a choice.....anyway its good to kno evry oda tin is fine....Happy new year in adv

Dont be worried, there's no need to be until you get a scan you cannot be really sure. So you might want to do that. For some reasons, i should be 7 weeks gone, but i feel like i am more than 7 weeks or my baby is already big, or maybe i have multiple, lol. I am not worried until i see my Doctor after the festivities. At a point i was trying to even diet so i n d baby don't add a lot of weight, but its not working n all d mommas here advised against it.

Kaf cakes pele o ull be fine. Pls if u hve the need, call ur DR sha! Better safe than sorry!
With d shaving cream , I use it o... I dnt rmbr what shaving with stick feels like. I always hve baddd irritations, I dnt dream of it. Even when am preg I used d shaving cream. Dnt think it has any effect.
As for d lotion, I mixed sheas butter and johnsons lotion for my DD, after I tried pure vaseline n plain johnsons lotion.

Wow! Fynor, u have an amazing borthstory. I am happy that God showed himself strong on your nehalf. I am also happy that your husband went ahead to call your dad and brother that are DRs. I am as well done from Med sch and awaiting my residency...so i have a huge idea of what you went through. To be sincere, your doctor should have induced you from the time u were progressing with labor, i think the reason that most women have CS is because they are in labor too long to continue, as in to push the baby, their BP will def rise, so as the babys heart rate. Only in 9ja i see that a Dr will let you stay in labor for more than 12-18hrs! But am happy u n baby r kicking healthily.... remain blessed.

Rukemi, how u dey? I didn't get intimate with hubby till after 8 weeks o, reason is, I think I was in pain from delivery and i. Wanted to wait for my 6 weeks check up with d Dr.to make sure everythn was good, when I saw my doc, he said I shld wait for 2 more weeks to make sure I heal properly cos I tore, I didn't hve a cs.. sorry if its TMI... but I hear most women don't wait. Fear for pain won't let me venture....

Tbaby.. pls don't mind d lady who is refusing her child to get stuff from you. Its either her culture or belief, or she's being weird... as long as u hve a clear conscience pls do ur thang!

I knw its not healthy to loose weight when ur preggies but I am trying to go dat route... did any mom@ hve such challenges with weight?

Thanks to everyone who welcomed me. Merry xmas! i see that most moms are far gone, which is a good thing, so i can get enough advice as time goes on. As for xmas cooking, not cooking anything o, going to my aunt for xmas jor, hubby is working so whats the point? I don't even think i can stand cooking as i feel nauseous at any intense smell, not throwing up , didn't with my first and don't hope to.
My babys crib/cot, wasn't of any use to me.. pls dont buy any, u can get a bassinet to put at d side of your bed, i know new moms will want their babies close to them, maybe not too close for harm, which is on the bed, but a bassinet until u can co sleep with the baby. I still co sleep with my 14month old.

I know all of you are engrossed on other members you know on this forum and might have forgotten to welcome me, but i welcome myself... So, i took the hpt today and it was a bfp!!! yayyy! Am hoping and praying its a boy... will have to start antenatal and see my Dr. after the holiday celebration. Hope we are all doing well?

I came into this thread out of curiosity, or maybe because i have been ttcing for a few months, i have a 14month old, i breastfed her till she was 12months, but i didnt get pregnant when i wanted to...i started having symptoms abt 3 days ago,will take a test 2mrw and am hoping it will be positive. After i read all d post on the last page, as i couldnt read from the start, i was touched and started to pray for all of you and the reason is, when i found out i was pregnant for my daughter, i didnt want it, i had done my introduction, but hadnt gotten married yet. I prayed against it even, and worried and after a few months i got married but it wasnt d kind of wedding i wanted, it wasnt how i planned it. Reading all your posts, i just started apologizing to God, i was so ungrateful.. and i want to commend all of you for your patience, God who did it for me, will do it for you all. Will check in time to time. Happy holidays y'all.

@ Poster, please its normal, the discharge contains semen which contains the sperms, she doesnt need the semen to conceive, so excess is released, drips down... its not as bad as you make it sound. She will get preggie when the time comes.
