HappyNigerian: The truth is often bitter, but this is exactly what Nigerians need to hear right now. The truth is The present Administration knows that transmitting Results live will be the end of its existence. It's very easy to provide the infrastructure Precovid Nigerian banks not just GTB struggled with online services but with COVID and market demand for online banking it became a thing of the past. If this administration achieves this request ,it will be the first time an administration is giving the people not politicians power to decide who will lead them. But as usual ,this administration will try everything possible to degrade it. Everything has time. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Dear Donald Trump, We Are Not Apes by Chibuezem(m): 3:57pm On Feb 08 |
idreesjigo: Dear Donald Trump, we are not apes By Muhsin Ibrahim We could not sleep one night in 2009. Instead, we sat in front of the TV, watching and praying for ‘our’ favourite candidate to coast to power and be declared the winner of the election. We wanted to witness history, not of any relative winning any election in Nigeria, but of Barack Obama winning the United States presidential election. Of course, we witnessed the history of the first non-white man becoming the president of the most powerful country in the world. We were delighted. We thought that, henceforth, black people would be more respected globally. Henceforth, our race would not be associated with backwardness. Henceforth, we would have more opportunities not only in the US but far beyond. We also thought President Obama would do more for Africa (where his father came from) and for Muslims (his father’s ‘relatives'), especially in the Middle East. Again, his association with towering academics, such as Edward Said and Rashid Khalidi, gave us some extra hope. No, we got it all wrong. Obama was like the rest of them. Obama’s role in destabilising Libya is still felt not only within the country but also far beyond, including in Nigeria. Obama authorised more drone strikes in the Middle East than any other US president. He did not bring peace anywhere, despite controversially winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Despite the above and more, I was disturbed to see President Donald Trump sharing the infamous Obamas’ “meme”, depicting them as apes. This was Trump’s new low. Its implications are also broad, extending beyond the Obamas. It, among other things, risks normalising racism, especially in the West, towards black people. Trump is unlike any leader anyone has ever seen in the White House. Yet, we should not overlook this brazen attack on us; we must call him out for this naked racism towards black people. We are not apes. We are human beings like him, if not better. We deserve respect. He owes us an apology. Trump is a known racist sadly most so called Nigerian christains see him as a saviour which he's not . Him recognising Our first lady followed by Nigerians who are sycophants of bad governance were cheering Trump will only smile with an African if the narrative suites him The only person free from racism Is Jesus Christ and christains who are not affiliated to any tribe, custom ,state or country like Isreal and Palestine Our Kingdom is the kingdom of God |

Richtaiwo: Just skim through the comments above and observe the spectacle. One is forced to ask whether these people have any employment beyond round-the-clock digital barking.
Let a single soul dare to post a remark that doesn’t worship their narrative, and they descend in chorus, foaming “paid agent!”, as though disagreement itself requires a payroll.
The irony, of course, is quite philosophical. Those most obsessed with accusing others of being paid appear to be the only ones permanently on duty, tirelessly guarding social media like watchdogs who have mistaken noise for purpose. Now, tell me, who is actually paid to bark on social media. So are you paid to worship mediocrity? |

Dogalmighty17: If it was at anytime in doubt that Donald Trump is a vile racist, he has cleared that doubt. The president of the United States, posted on his truth social page animated pictures of Barack and Michelle Obama as monkeys. Trump has no single redeeming quality in him. Not one. His desperate attempt to divert attention from his involvement in the Epstein files is transparent. As he is losing the support of the American public, he has resorted to the only thing he knows how to do. Banging the drums of racism. if this is what he thinks of Black Americans what would he think of Nigerians ? Some Deluded Nigerians have the guts to applaud him for recognising the First lady 😅 |
Politics › Re: Why Do Many Nigerians See Travelling “abroad” As An Achievement by Chibuezem(m): 6:23am On Feb 07 |
drstranged: This is an honest question, not an insult or shade. Why Do Many Nigerians See Travelling “Abroad” as an Achievement, While Other Africans Don’t?Why is it that in Nigeria, travelling abroad is often treated as a major life achievement, while in many other African countries it is seen as something quite ordinary—sometimes just for holidays, work, or short-term exposure?
I ask this because I have Rwandan and Kenyan friends, and the contrast is striking. Many of them genuinely can’t wait to return home after studying or working abroad. To them, “abroad” is not the ultimate destination. Home is. Some even find it strange that Nigerians celebrate travelling out of the country so loudly, as if it automatically equals success.
Meanwhile in Nigeria, the moment you hear that someone has travelled abroad, it is often spoken of with pride. Families announce it like a major milestone, and people are sometimes respected simply for having left the country, even when nothing tangible has changed in their lives. In many cases, the destination itself does not even seem to matter—as long as it is not Nigeria.
In contrast, many East African countries tend to view foreign travel as normal exposure rather than a status symbol. There is a strong emotional and economic investment in home, and success is often measured more by impact, stability, and contribution to society than by physical relocation.
This raises some important questions. Is this mindset a result of how badly Nigeria’s system has failed, such that leaving now feels more like an escape than ordinary movement? Could it be tied to a lingering colonial mentality where “foreign” is subconsciously equated with “better”? Or is it driven by harsh economic realities such as unemployment, insecurity, and a poor quality of life that make life abroad seem like the ultimate goal? Perhaps it is also a product of social conditioning and a validation-seeking culture, where travelling abroad has become one of the few visible markers of “progress.”
Why, then, do Nigerians often aspire so strongly to leave, while people from other African countries aspire just as strongly to return home?
I would genuinely love to hear thoughtful opinions—especially from Nigerians who have lived abroad and from Africans from other countries who have observed this difference. When an inmate escapes from prison he celebrates Nigerians escaping from Nigeria a prison created by our politicians and maintained by the Their sycophants in high places is worth Thanksgiving If you survive their weapon of poverty , desecrated healthcare system , final destination roads , snake infestation and zombie like masses I love Nigeria but will gladly escape if I have the funds |

Berankis: Writing all these medical jargons to bamboozle us doesn't change the fact that most Government-owned hospitals are very nonchalant when it comes to attending to Nigerians, especially ones requiring emergency medical attention. A lot of their doctors are always disgruntled, angry and rude. Only a few remain calm and well behaved. My last experience at the Lagos State General Hospital wasn't very pleasant at all. I just feel the current Nigeria is frustrating the hell out of every Nigerian. The system is broken because government has decided that the reward of health workers is in heaven not in Nigeria from substandard health infrastructure, scarcity of essential Drugs to poor renumeration of healthcare workers Nigerian government has tunred hospitals to mortuaries and it will continue because the average Nigerian hates going to the hospital talk more of even liking healthcare workers |

Before any market is opened, every shop owner must pay an opening fee of ₦200,000 per shop. This will bring sanity, seriousness, and proper regulation into our markets. When people have financial commitment, their eyes will open, and they will value order, cleanliness, and government policies. Ridiculous lol ₦200,000 to open shop Waste of resources |

floss: I always tell people that Nigerians are gullible people especially those their pastors, and church owners… they preach convenience to you….without listening to them you’ll still achieve what you’re supposed to achieve… Christianity has zero impact on your life as a person except becoming vulnerable to yourself.
Instead of preaching salvation, preach and teach your followers how to be financially secure and independent because at the end of every church service you demand their money in the name of offering and tithes Christainity has a huge positive impact on your life when you dwell in God's presence by having fellowship with Him. Pastors , evangelist etc are workers whom can either be vessels of honour or dishonour It is up to you to grow your spirit in the knowledge of God not to worship God in men but God in you . |

richiemcgold: This is why it is very important for us to have some knowledge of traditional first aids in case of emergency like this. Snake venom can be neutralized by eating fresh walnuts. We can use cigar leaf too. There's also what we call 'aparo' in Yoruba which I think every household should have at home.
Cigar leaf is that fresh, newly emerging leaf of a banana or plantain plant, which appears tightly coiled and resembles a green tube before unfolding.
.. may her soul rest in peace. I doubt you 100% which research have you done to prove this ? Please when bitten by a snake apply first aid ,do not attempt to suck out the venom go straight to the hospital |

You can’t close down a market because traders exempt Monday from their days of work. Thats a very wrong move by the governor. We indeed have no law, no right and no freedom whatsoever…
But Nigerians are quick to adapt. If it’s difficult now, instead of finding a permanent solution, we’ll rather adapt to easier alternatives.
If government Close down the market for a week who do you think loses more, the government or the people? sometimes I wonder if soludo even knows what he's doing sef There are ways to make these traders to open their shops on Monday You can decide that anyone who open shop on Monday will receive 50% off in their taxes to the government |

You don't name a coup by the region of who led the coup, but by the body count after the coup. E.g. 1966 coup. it's a northern coup it's simple as that |
