TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Chibzzy789: 3:20pm On Oct 16, 2025
Hello everyone, has anyone applied to Nova Scotia Community College recently. Is there any red flags regarding securing visa or issues with a particular study location not being eligible for PGWP even if the program is PGWP eligible ? Thank you
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Chibzzy789: 3:07am On May 08, 2024
Good day House. Is it a wise idea for someone whose study visa application was denied due to financial reasons to apply for Canadian visit visa?

Thanks

Greetings House. My sis is serving as my co-sponsor.
1. Is it better for me to pay my tuition fees while she covers living expenses and vice versa. Or does whoever pays tuition or living expenses not matter?
2. How can one pay tuition from Nigeria? Can it be paid from my Nigerian bank?
3. In a case where I had unlabeled lump sums, but still paid my first semester (8500 cad) from these lump sums , does it raise a red flag?

Thanks

Have you been banned from entering the US?

You shouldn't judge yourself if you have not been caught for misrepresentation.

No matter your situation, IRCC does not seek to judge you based on your past situation with another country so long you are not a terrorist or a risk to Canada. Just be crystal pure.

Just approach it with pure truth this time.

If you have been banned, state it in your application. If you have been refused visas a hundred times, state it truthfully.
Thanks @showyoung. I wasn’t banned from entering the US, I know the US and Canada shares information and this is why I was worried.

Good day house. Thanks for all that you do. I have applied to the US embassy through an agent a few times and there were lots of wrong information he provided about me because he handled the application from start to finish (You can blame me, I know I messed up). I was denied the US visa on these occasions. I then stumbled across this Canada thread and realized I can pursue this on my own and I have been following the thread since last year. The main problem is I dont know how to correct these misrepresentations, for example, he changed the name of my university to another one. With the Canada student application being more document oriented, what can I do?

Greetings. What’s the best age range to use a co-sponsor in your application. Is it advisable for a married man over 37 years old with 2 kids to use a sibling as co-sponsor?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Chibzzy789: 1:22pm On Jun 26, 2023
Good day house. I’m married with 2 kids and planning to use a sibling as a co-sponsor. I’m traveling alone and will be taking care of expenses alone while my sibling covers tuition. My program is 8 month ( 1 academic year). If living expenses plus travel expenses is $13000, what’s a good range of closing balance for me?
Also with an opening balance of around 8 million naira, should I worry about inflow and outflow?
Thank you

Greetings house. Please I have some questions
1. How long does it take to get decision from Conestoga. I applied since over 3 weeks and it keeps saying No decision. Does no decision mean they are still reviewing my application? Are there schools with fast decision
2. I just realized that my middle name is used as my first name in my bank. I believe this might pose a challenge in the application since I will be using this bank statement to apply. Any advise pls?

Thanks

Hello house.

Has anyone been admitted to Confederation College?
1. How long does it take to get admission after application?
2. What’s the tuition deposit amount for first semester? How many months after admission can you pay the remaining deposit for first semester after first deposit. Like is there enough time to use form A for the first semester tuition balance

Thanks,

Before I give this advice, I want you to know that I’m an educational consultant for people who migrate through the study route and I focus primarily on Canada. I apply to schools for people and provide the admission as fast as possible, writing the SOP for my applicants and securing a 95% success rate. Having said that, here goes:

Conestoga would have been your best bet, but I advise you to stay far away from them because they have started increasing their tuition deposits. It was initially $1,500, but now they would need you to pay an extra $8,000-9,000 before leaving the country. My clients have been unhappy about this but we do not have a choice than to follow their requirements. Please note that the tuition deposit can not be negotiated.

If you however have the money, you can by all means go there.

Cambrian college on the other hand has their tuition deposit fixed and pegged at $8,014. Their offer rate and speed according to the hundreds of applications I’ve done for them is 87% (I’ll keep Conestoga at 92%).

I do not partner with Confederation College but Canadore and saulte are great schools too. I’ll keep those at 80%.

I hope this helps, Good luck
Wow. This is well detailed and highly appreciated. Thank you sir

Greetings all. I plan applying for Jan 2024 admission and after doing some research and going through these threads, I found these 5 universities: Canadore college, Cambrian College, Confederation College, Conestoga college and Saulte college.
1. I found the OCAS registration site for these universities, will I make one payment for all these schools on the OCAS website or make a separate payment per school.
2. Which of these schools have fast admission processing time?
3. I checked the refund policy of these schools on their website and it seems fair. Is there anyone who has had an issue with refund on any of these schools please?

Thanks for all your help

Which government website are you talking about here? The Unified local government or federal marriage registries?(ministry of interior)? Even some local government marriage registries are not in their so called Unified local government marriage registries. I had this same confusion when I was processing my visa application too.

The legalisation of statutory marriage is an ongoing issue between the Federal marriage registries and the local government marriage registries. Both claim to be the only authentic one. After going back and forth between the two I opted for the local government marriage registry since it's cheaper and more convenient for me. My friend did the local government one and he is in the USA with his family now. You can Google it and make an informed decision from your deductions.
I was referring to the ministry of interior website. Thanks so much for your advice

My brother got married at a local government in Ibadan in 2013 and would like to go ahead with the Canadian student visa application . He was given a Marriage certificate but when he tried inputting the number on the marriage certificate to the government website last week to check the validity, the number was not in the system. I’m afraid that the Visa officer might face this issue when he submits as well. He’s a little worried for now and would really appreciate any advice or knowledge of this matter please?

I am planning to use my registry marriage. Is this valid or I need to get the one from Ministry of interior. Please if you submitted a marriage certificate in your application, which one did you use? Thanks
Please this is a little urgent and I would appreciate if anyone has an answer or insight on this. Has anyone successfully used registry marriage certificate in their application?
Thanks

Much thanks to everyone for all you do here. Please I am trying to get my application documents together but have some questions before I can proceed.
I decided to pursue Canada study visa this month and interested in Fall 2023 admission

1. I did a church wedding with my wife in 2012 at church and got a marriage certificate from the church. Our marriage is blessed with two kids. I fear that this certificate from the church might not be considered official for the application. I intend using my family as hometies. I would like to submit my application in 6 weeks but I think doing a court marriage at this point might raise a red flag. Any advice on how to get a valid marriage document to back this up.
2. Similar to my first question, I run a small farm which I didn’t register. Will getting a CAC today raise a red flag?

Thanks in anticipation
Please any advice will be really helpful. Thanks

I just got an admission into cambrian too. I think the best thing to do now is to pay directly for first semester, then use form a for other semesters
How many weeks did it take to get an admission?

Around the high court, there are people who offer services such as printing and photocopying.

Meet them and tell them what you want. They'll prepare the document and link you to a lawyer if you want it signed by one

Yes, you will be eligible for a one-year PGWP. However, depending on your age, level of education, language score, a close relative in Canada etc., one year of work experience might not give you sufficient time to gain enough work experience for Federal programs. But you can apply for PR with provincial nominee programs. Most provinces have PR programs tailored for students and workers in their province.
What is the name of your intended program?
@bullstriker, thanks for all you do here. Due to lesser funds, can one apply for a one year graduate program, complete that and do another one year program to make 2 years in order to be eligible for a 3 years PGWP. Thanks
