Thank you so much @ lexyj123. At 11:39 am, I got a mail in my email box from accraimmigration@int...

At 12:07 pm another one came with DO NOT REPLY.

Up until now (3:07 pm), I have not read the two messages because I'm afraid to check them. The reason for my fear is that I applied less than a month ago, precisely on the 19th of June, 2015.

Could that be a medical request?
Most likely. Please check asap. No delays.

Personally, I think that issue will stir up questions - especially considering that your initial program is very loosely related to the one you are currently going in for (this in itself is a possible red flag). Why not go for a PhD? That would be the logical approach.

Let's hear what other members have to say...This place has been awfully quiet since yesterday.
The two programs are very much related. I have a Bsc in Politics and International Relations though from a Nigerian uni and I am currently in the Masters of Peace and Conflict Studies program in University of Waterloo. Peace and Conflict is more or less a specialized area of international relations.
@ adaforeal1 why not go for another masters? Or a PHD as Graviton2 suggested?
Though i remember sometime ago i read here that someone with a degree from UK was able to come into Canada to study at the PGD level. That might work

Hello all ........ Thnx 2 those giving us infos...I appreciate u all......well I jst applied 4 Msc civil eng. With d uni of manitoba for winter 2016......wat shld b expectation concernin admission....and like 2 knw pips also applyin 4 winter 2016 admissions 2 manitoba.....n wats dir skool fees like.....thnks
This is the first time i will hear or read about someone applying without checking the fees. You should visit the dept or faculty website. The fees should be displayed somewhere there. Admission into Uni of Manitoba is quite competitive, so it is good to apply to one or two more schools.

Hello every1, all d best 2 all TRV hopefulls

My frd got her TRV but she noticed that it has an expiry date of 07/05/2016 (dd/mm/yy) (1yr) but her attached POE letter states a validity period of 2017/12/06(yy/mm/dd) (2yrs)
though her passport has an expiry date of 08/05/2016(dd/mm/yy) (expires next year) and her program duration is 2 years

Is there a cause for alarm in this situation?
if she renews her passport in canada what happens to her visa?
does it cost to renew passport in canada? and if yes, how much?
how long is the renewal process and extention of visa(if it's done)?
No cause for alarm. I had the same condition because I had no idea then that Canada doesnt issue visas beyond the passport validity. She will have to renew her passport in Canada and then apply for study permit extension at least 30 days before the expiry. I would advice she applies like two months before her permit expires because it currently takes an average of 70 days to get a response from CIC for applications made within Canada.
If she renews her passport in Canada, she will not have any problem. I renewed my passport in Nigeria in April and I was still able to come into Canada. So she is covered. However, she should apply for a study permit as soon as she gets a new passport so she can get a reply from CIC in time.
Unfortunately, I have no idea how much it is to renew passports in Canada

I booked a room the school hostel....and the day am am to move in is on the 3rd
It does not matter. It was after I arrived Canada that I started looking for accommodation and no one at the airport asked me any question regarding it. However, you can book a room at a bed and breakfast for a few days if that will keep you at ease. Or do you have a place to stay before you can move into the hostel?

Thank you very much smiley

If you renew your passport, it does not affect the TRV on it. All other pages on the passport would be canceled but the visa page would be left alone. All you need do is attach both old and new passports together
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by chichi89(f): 8:10pm On Jan 07, 2015
Hello everyone, please i have a quick question for those in Canada. If i renew my passport, can i still make use of the trv and study permit on the old passport? Or will it be voided/invalid too? Thanks.

Hello Drpak I would like to send you an email concerning passport renewal and study permit extension. Please let me know if that's okay with you. Thanks.

kunlesaint: Hello Good people,
I received an email from the CIC Accra, Ghana that a decision had been made on my re-determination of study permit and that, I should arrange for DHL to get the parcel on my behalf.
Please, I need your urgent advice on the likelihood of anticipatory decision and I do hope this is not another refusal/denial of TRV again, as I challenged the first refusal in court and was referred for re-determination of the study permit by the federal court of Canada .
Please, your valuable advice is needed as this point, as I have arranged with DHL to bring the parcel on my behalf.

thank you all....
didn't know people go to court for denial of Canadian visa. I've only heard of people reapplying. Hard to say. Wish you the best.

Uchlight: Hi peeps. I need peoples opinion on this. Does someone has to pay his tuition fees before he could be granted a canadian Visa. Is paying tuition fees a necessary condition before one could be granted VISA
it isn't. unless the school asks you to pay or the visa officer sends a mail requesting you to pay your fees.

saxywale: the one my toddler attends cost $880/month full time and part time is $480/month. The poster might need to work around that figure.

It would vary according to location and reputation of the daycare. Home care givers may or may not be a cheaper option.

I am yet to find a cheap daycare or caregiver though.
wow! That's a lot oh. Weldone.
