You will likely fall under the healthcare category once you create your Express Entry profile. If you maximize all possible points, the probability of receiving an invitation is high with a minimum CRS score of 470. This route makes obtaining permanent residence easier than going through the school route.

Follow the Express Entry section on Nairaland for more information. Also, I like you to calculate your possible CRS score

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/check-score.html

and share it with the express entry section of nairaland this way, we can better assess how realistic your chances are and what you need to work on you can guess what your possible IELTS points will be when using the calculator

Thank you very much. I really appreciate this detailed response.

Why don’t you want to try the healthcare category draw? And what is your likely proposed points score? Just give a rough estimate
Okay, thank you. I have not even heard of it. Please, could you give me more information on it?

Hello. Was it required to get the baby a passport for the interview? What other document was required for the baby?
Yes, the passport is what you need to book for the interview. After the booking, you write the embassy to merge the documents with that of the parent. The embassy usually immediately gives appointment date to kids depending on the case.

You have to provide all documents in the check list for children. This can be found on the embassy website.

Finally, I think you should be straight in your question so we can answer you completely in one swoop.

Cheers

Please for those who have attended appointment for reunion with minors, did you go there with your kids. Are minors below the age of 6 required to be physically present at the interview?
Yes, they are required to come. My wife went with our 2 months old son then. That was December, 2022.

Hello everyone, is it possible for me to request that German consulate Lagos change venue for my family reunion visa interviews from Lagos to Abuja?

Also my wife and kids were given different dates. Is it possible for me to request that they be given the same date?

Your responses are highly appreciated.
Hmmm!! Your first question is tricky but you have to provide enough reason/reasons to them before they can consider it. Generally, if you check on the embassy website; there are criteria’s to meet before you can have your interview in Abuja. However, nothing is impossible.

To your second question, yes it is possible to merge everything into one and have one interview for all as long as all their documents are intact. For this, write the embassy explaining to them that they are from one family. They will respond to you with a clear direction on how to proceed.

hello guys, please how can one convert our grade or credit unit to ECTS credits?
First, calculate 30*your number of semesters excluding that of year 1. This means if you did a degree of 4 years in Nigeria, it becomes 30*6(because year1 is seen as A-level)=180 ECTS.

Secondly, multiply your number of credit units by 1.5 for each semester excluding year1. This means if your credit unit for year2 first semester is 21, it becomes 21*1.5=31.5 ECTS. The second method is more accurate than the first.

Pls I need an advice , my German family reunion visa was rejected on the 6th of December 2023. But I just received the letter yesterday 2nd of January by DHL . The reason for denial was clearly stated that my husband was contacted several times to submit some documents but he did not respond meanwhile he claimed that he didn’t receive any mail or request from them . What can I do? How can I go for remonstration or appeal?
Hello!! So sorry to hear what just happened. The delay in receiving the letter should be the fault of DHL but that shouldn’t bother you because you have enough time to appeal.

First, your husband should goto his ABH office and find out if they actually communicated him and present the case or reasons why he didn’t get the massages. If your husband can get this information, gather it and attach proofs; then appeal the decision of the embassy.

However, appeal process takes time but with proofs (documented proofs) and convincing explanation it works.

Using an immigration lawyer at this point will also help.

All the best!!

Both authorities have to give approval. Usually the embassy here approves and forwards your application to the Foreigners' Authority (Ausländerbehörde) and only after the approval of the ABH can the visa be issued. In the case of a pre-approval the foreigners' authority approves the application first but the embassy in Nigeria still has to give it's approval before the visa is issued. The thing is it's typically rare for the rejection to stem from the Nigerian embassy as long as your application was complete and you didn't raise any suspicions of fraud.
You are absolutely right. Just to add; these approvals have a life span of 3 months. This means if they are not used by the embassy within 3 months after receiving it from the ABH for any reason, the approval will be sought again by the embassy.

Please, house. I applied for FRV on 12th August 2022 and my husband has bluecard still no news from embassy for appointment. The thing now is that I gave birth to twins just 2weeks ago. I am confused, please what do I do? Will my babies have to wait or what? Please advise me on what to do. I am really exhausted. Thank you all
Congratulations!!

First, immediately get international passport for your two kids. Use the passport number to book for family reunion appointment for each of your babies.

Secondly, write the embassy an email with the two booking references for your children. The embassy will merge the applications with yours and invite the 3 of you at the same time.

Since you booked August last year year, you’ll likely get an appointment mail next month.

Cheers

Please, is it possible to postpone interview after a date has been given?

If yes, please, how?

And for how long can it be postponed?

Thanks in advance for your response
Yes, it is possible. However, you must present a strong case why they should and back it up with evidence (documents). Please, your reason must be water tight and the evidence.

You, can then write them via email.

Please how long does it take to get an appointment for family reunion .how long can the whole process last.
To get appointment is between 14 or 15 months.

As for how long the entire process takes; it depends on several factors like the type of residence your spouse and let’s say God factor.

However, anything after going for interview is peculiar to each person and application.

Congratulations! Thank you for sharing your experience. Please did you previously submit your husband's payslip during the interview too? We've got verification complete mail for over a week now and stoll no request from ABH. We don't knowif it's because we submitted those things during the interview
Hello!! I think your husband should reach out to his ABH and ask them. They may have so much work or the person that handles his file is on holiday. Hopefully, the request is on their desk.
