There is a difference between skilled work visa and EU blue card. We are currently waiting for the A1 result and also lawyer verification. So, two things. #cheers

Sorry to disturb you, please when did u submit to ABH, my husband submitted to ABH since February till today nothing, no confirmation and some of his original documents (work contract, etc) has not been returned.

I was asked to submit only my last 3 months pay slip because I am on a work visa. The approval was given within 1 week.

Do the ABH always confirm approval to the spouse in Germany in all cases or they may just approve to Lagos and not inform the partner in Germany? Just wondering cos it seems some people get the ABH confirmation and some do not mention it.

For me, the person in charge informed me that he has approved it. However, I think it depends on the officer in charge. If you don’t get a negative feedback after submitting the documents they requested; it is assumed that they will approve it.

Your husband should ask around in his city. There must be a way to reach them. Whether through email or booking appointment via their webpage.

Me too. We have a deadline to meet up. Hopefully before close of work on Wednesday the result will be out.

If you have submitted every document and made your case, there is really no time frame just as the visa process does not have a fixed timing. What you can do is to draw their attention to it via e-mail biweekly. #cheers

Cos you didn't know. If you hold a degree, the A1 is waived, most people don't know. Check the family reunion information on the Nigeria German embassy website.

Well, I am very well informed but recently they took out that information from their site. You can check again. Well, it’s an opinion from experience I have offered. #cheers

HND is equivalent to BSc. If she holds a degree, the A1 Language would be waived.

And a degree certificate puts her high in the labour market and as well as the Visa process

Hmmm. First, HND is not equivalent to a German degree here in Germany. Secondly, my wife holds a master’s degree and still the A1 was not waived. However, she might be lucky but it’s very unlikely that the A1 language stuff will be waived.

My wife is in Germany, she works there and has her papers. We want to start the application for me to join her in Germany, however I am kind of worried over a certain issue with my passport.

The D.O.B on my passport is not my correct age, and I want to know if this may affect my chances of getting a visa if she applies for a spousal visa that will enable me join her in Germany.

Please has anybody have this experience before?

why not correct it in your passport through Nigeria Immigration Service.

Sure, as long as you have residency in that country. However, be aware that if you have to go through lawyer verification of documents; it will goto your home country/location.

First, your husband has to book an appointment and goto his ABH and confirm if they have given their approval or not. If yes, then the delay is from the embassy Lagos. And if no, your husband can find out why.

Hello!! You will have to book for each separately with their international passport numbers. This means you are booking two more appointments. After booking for both, you will then explain to the embassy in a mail with your reference number and theirs. The embassy will merge the application and invite the 3 of you at the same time for interview when it’s time. #cheers

I just applied for a family reunion visa appointment for my wife and I know it takes up to one year.

If my wife gives birth to our child before the appointment, do we need to make a new visa appointment for the child? Or is it that underage children don't need a visa and can simply accompany their mother?

Congratulations in advance bro!! If your wife gives birth, immediately try to get an international passport for the baby and book a family reunion appointment with the baby’s passport number and details. Immediately after, write the embassy with the baby’s reference number and that of the mother and explain the situation. The embassy will hopefully, merge the two applications together and invite them both for the visa interview when it’s time.

The lawyer can even conclude the process and they would be waiting for the language certificate

Please, if the embassy ask you to submit language certificate before lawyer verification; does it mean they will suspend the lawyer verification until you provide the language certificate or they will continue with the verification? My spouse is on work visa.

I’m aware it’s for family reunion. Also, it’s most likely the same thing for adults. For the current amount for blocked act; you can see it on the embassy website_ https://nigeria.diplo.de/ng-en/-/2568986 (Proof of funding_blocked account with a minimum disposal sum of 934€/month).

Do your form A on trade monitoring system portal and select Sterling Bank. Choose Head Office Branch as processing Branch.

You need not visit any branch. It would be processed for disbursement. Ensure your account is sufficiently funded.

Well, it depends on your application category. Get to the embassy before 5:30 so you can be amongst the first set, for family reunion it takes more time. I got to the embassy by 5:30, I was number 6 on the line, number 2 for family reunion and I left the embassy around 1:30pm. I hope this helps with your plans.
