But NNPCL went to buy the entire product from Dangote. Why not buy and let others buy?

NNPCL woke up and changed her pump price overnight with no prior notice to Nigerians...

This completely contradicts the so called “market forces” when NNPC still has the monopoly of product supply even from Dangote. There’s nothing like free market here..

Who is deceiving who?

Kai!
The problem with these Nnpc regime e be like naa school dropouts occupy Nnpc .... how can Nnpc be talking of market forces when it imposing itself as sole distributor and as already change prices ahead of the incoming new product

diesel from Dangote today is 1,100 same by product of crude oil as petrol. This is the reality you guys fail to reckon with. Petrol, diesel and aviation fuel prices are at par in a deregulated market
That is not a yardstick and it as diesel as never being a measure to compute PMS price

like i said, the most valid clue to speculate dangote fuel price remains the landing cost of imported PMS, only a novice wont know

if landing cost of pms from oversea is 1200 you can't posit dangote price will be above 1000 ... what that means is double freight and all cost relative to importation incured is just 200 or #100

does that make sense, do the maths

cheesy

I like this transparency from Dangote and NNPC. Accountability will be sure easier that way, you can now track each crude barrel supplied and what barrel of each products were rolled out back to NNPC in sales

Kyari may not have where to hide anymore

CBN will be watching from a far. KMPG will do the last-quarter audit by December.

The future promises to to great

God bless PBAT
NNPC as no choice, Dangote is dragging them into a transparency they want, make e no be like say naa only dangote sabi talk

Besides transparency with "Input " info is as useless info to Nigerians, with NNPc imposing itself as sole distributor will Nigeria ever have a true estimate of " output" distributed and total consumption

Output is the info Nigerians need to know for transparency and accountability ... Can NNPc do mistake nd say the truth

Go and find out how much Dangote sell his diesel, does competition means selling below cost price? If Dangote is to sell petrol to marketers today, the price will almost be at par with diesel, has the competitive market brought the price of diesel below 1,000 naira? Let's face reality, it's only through subsidy that can make us get petrol below 1,000. Dangote is buying crude from NNPC at the naira equivalent of the dollar cost, it's not as if he's getting discount and the cost of refining will be built into the price at the end of the day. If we want it cheaper, it has to be through NNPC subsiding the price
what was the price of diesel before Dangote rolled out diesel ... which one less,
the fact that dangote sold his diesel less and being a private investor is enough conviction he must have sold at profit,
if local refined diesel can be cheaper to imported diesel today without subsidy it takes just common sense to know local PMS will sell cheaper than the imported price
if you agree dangote brought reduction to diesel price then your brain gymnastic is immaterial cos local products will always be cheaper to imported ones

The level of demand & supply in the diesel sector is not high enough to command anticipated competition, because forces of demand & supply only respond at "High"
According to news pop the landing cost of petrol in Nig. is 1200, with just common sense if you strip out double freight & related cost you should have something below 1k without govt subsidy yet, even that 1200 nnpc mentioned is most likely hiked

what are you even saying sef, the refined crude we import carry "prime cost " and plus landing cost e still arrive here at 1200, if you believe dangote prime cost will be over 1000 bro your education is a waste

No the refinery is not ruse but not completed yet. The money he will make from the monopoly of PMS importation is what he he looking at to help him complete it and possibly buy up and repair the existing PH, kaduna and Warri refineries years after, that way he will get to control petroleum prices in entire west Africa like he did the cement monopoly which catapulted him one of the richest Africans about 10-15 years ago or thereabout

lets assume the whole dangote fuel is ready is a charade ... is dangote investing $20billion on a refinery also a charade abeg to what end

How can someone build a $20bn refinery just to creat a "ruse" naa so you think Nigerians important reach

Despite all the promises, timelines when ph refinery no ready dem creat ruse, or why dem no kuku use ph refinery to creat ruse instead of going thru the rigorous stress of building a new refinery just for ruse, can ruse generate more income for dangote than selling petrol

Dangote can only guarantee availability but not affordability, it's left for NNPC to do the needful by buying from Dangote and make it affordable at the pumps, weather under recovery or subsidy Nigerians just want affordable petrol without stress
we dont "need" NNPc in all of these, there is no way dangote fuel will more expensive than the current price Nigerians are struggling and wasting productive hours at filling stations to buy .. if Nigerians are buying at #1200 per litre instead of shutting down the country with protest then we dont Need Nnpc to subsidize dangote

what we need is real competitive market where forces of demand & supply dictate the price, let private marketers lift directly from dangote and watch competitive market come to play But the NNPC as swore to keep Nigerians in bondage

Yes the marketers will sell it at the rate of #895. This is because the NNPCL is the only 'marketers' that has the right to import fuel and buy from Dangote. They also set the price for a liter. Nigerians have been clamouring for govt to give individuals the right to import fuel in order to create competition but NNPCL has stamped on it not seeing the light of the day.
if the answer is Yes as you posit, NNPc wont gag dangote in the 1st place, all the sheningans wont have being necessary

NNPC knows that the moment Dangote announce his price, they are under a big restriction to compute pump price
when people know the cost price, the profit margin already has a bandwidth .. thats one secrecy that as become a tool to shortchanged Nigerians

These people want to keep maintaining the high level of secrecy through which they will keep feeding fat on National wealth.

The subsidy through which they have been making shady incomes is gradually fading away and they are diversifying towards the local market.
You just hit the nail on the head, the whole sheningans and absurdity going on centers around NNPC and govt are desperate to cover there tracks, they dont want any form of transparency around the oil sector

Should dangote announce his own retail price they know it will be easy for Nigerians to compute what the pump price should be ...

should dangote supply private marketers directly, in no time Nigerians wil have a true estimate of our daily consumption

should dangote be left to run independently, the incompetence and corrruption rocking NNpc will be fully exposed, Nigeria will see NNPC is a corruption enterprise set up to keep Nigeria under develop , everything they do is deliberate

It is the mentality of an African leader to prove to the whites they can repay loans by subjecting the people to more taxation, That why tinubu is spring up more taxes just so he could prove creditworthiness for loans

Forget the paper talks with big grammars, and let's face the reality. With the recent script of fuel hike played by NNPCL and FG the Dangote refinery is a tool for siphoning Nigerians to pay for the humongous loans borrowed by the FG to finance their lavish lifestyles. Why would pump rise just increase overnight, and yet NNPC peg their pump price @ 800-850 after loading from the Dangote refinery.
APC as made it their modules operandi to loot by making the president the Petroleum Minister, and using Kyari (NNPCL GMD) as a cover.
APC + NNPCL GMD are the worst thing that happened to Nigerians . It's only a corrupt government that will retain the NNPCL GMD, sell crude to local refinery in local currency and still sell in US Dollars. Above, all the answer is a NO as long as the NNPCL is the sole distributor and PBAT is the Petroleum Minister. And any president that failed to privatize NNPCL is worse than ABACHA
if you understand it is a scripted, then you suppose know the overnight increase in pump rise his to pave way for acceptance of dangote price that will be a little below cheesy
Tinubu is a script writer swith that man everything is premeditated to dribble Nigerians

We already know Mr Analyst.

The crude sold in Naira means less crude in normal exchange for forex or dollar and thus lower forex inflow. But once Dangote starts refining beyond local consumption capacity, which may reduce very drastically if smuggling stops, it means the refined crude will earn more forex than it usually would have in govt hand as raw crude oil because value has been added and it sells for higher. It is still a win on the long run as long govt doesnt make petrol artificially lower than in neighbouring countries.
Heard the FEC is the one dictating final prices and that points to an arrangement where FG bills dangote for crude lower than intl rates just to allow it come out as refined crude product lower than market rates while preserving Dangote flat profit margin. Dangote is now acting a lot like public refineries should under FG on a level playing field.
Have you thought about, Nigeria will be having multiple income in all of these
NNPc will export crude .. revenue $
dangote capacity affords him to export ... revenue $
other deriatives from crude refining ... will be sold both locally & int'l

All of these are solid boost to our GDP, that our revenue will boom negates your reservations

So in essence, Dangote and FG are the winners. Citizens have nothing there to gain or celebrate.

One would have thought that those saves from TFare and landing costs + import duties will reduce the cost of PMS at least.

Sighs
The analyst points are watery, in production no cost relieve can be undermined not to mention local refinery will eliminate avoidable cost such

double freight .. we import and export back
double uploading &offloading from vessel cost
Overseas freight miscellaneous and taxes

A decline in dollar demand should strengthen the naira, dangote buying crude in naira from nnpc at int'l price ensures our turnover woull be an equivalence of it dollar worth, the most important thing is "Revenue" is made and we are saving some avoidable cost
Nigeria obligation to export crude is a strong source to keep our Fx reserve stable, over 60% of fx demand is expended on fuel importation, with that out of the equation that ensure surplus Fx supply to meet other needs ...

That Nigeria will sell crude and sell refined crude at int'l market is a double boost to our GDP, its a big brnefit for Nigeria

Have you seen how pure n clean dangote fuel his, that means Nigerians wil be freed from bad & inferior fuel that spoil our engines that is a win for Nigerians
huge scale of Job employment ... thats a win for Nigeria
dangote refinery contribution to power grid thats a win for Nigerians

Only the govt / Nnpc touch can throttle the benefits of dangote refinery
