ivandragon: You are obviously hard of understanding.
What is the correlation between what you have written and what I wrote?
Did I sat Dangote cannot export his products where ever he wishes
You can make your own contributions without having to respond out of context. you have to come with something better or just eat your words, when you said ; "he will technically be exporting it. So with Dangote's refinery, Nigeria would still be 'importing' PMS and it would be taxed like any other goods." what exactly do you mean, with dangote Nigeria would still be importing .. whatelse does that imply |
Politics › Re: Fuel Landing Cost Rises, Marketers Fear High Dangote Petrol Price by chidiokay: 9:09am On Sep 10, 2024 |
ivandragon: Hmm...
Seems Nigerians don't really understand how Dangote's refinery in a free trade zone works.
By establishing in a free trade zone, Dangote's refinery is exempt from a lot of customs duties and excises.
But if and when Dangote decides to 'sell' his products in Nigeria, he will technically be exporting it. So with Dangote's refinery, Nigeria would still be 'importing' PMS and it would be taxed like any other goods.
That is one of the areas that needs to be cleared up and why Dangote said it is the government that would decide the price of PMS. the highlighted is a give out that you confused Dangote is at liberty to export because his capacity is high above local daily demands Nigeria is a oil producing nation, and our crude is of high quality which means there is no valid reason for dangote to import crude, as per pricing Nigeria is remains his best shot cos avoidable cost would be sidlined Crude swap should not be a limitation, cos we are under producing, if Govt is serious about generating more Revenue what stops optimal production of crude |

RealTrump: Petrol would find it's true value, and that true value is ₦1200.
This would further help to slow down the economy as desired.
I went to the ShopRite around my area last Sunday, and the place was packed full. Nigerians still have money, they are just lieing. More taxes should be introduced in order to help mop up excess money in the economy.
Nigerians should be willing to make this sacrifices for their leaders cos the weight on a leader is really unbearable. As long as there is no Transparency , as long as whar we have is NNPC sòr- pé there can never true value One thing Nigerians must know the oil sector harbor the most corrupt and evil set of humans ... that will always conspire to shortchange and scam Nigerians If landing cost of a fuel that carried double freight stands at 1200, i wonder how you expect a local refined product value to sit at same 1200 .. does it make any sense |

If Mr Ajaero is not immediately released, Tinubu's downfall just began and whoever is advising Tinubu to keep up with his tyranny, are his greatest enemies.
Tinubu wants to create a terrible history for himself and his entire family, especially after causing untold hardship on Nigerians. This was how Abacha started, he eventually fell.
At the moment, we can say by fact that Tinubu is mad man who's destruction is imminent. Did Ajeoro even fit to any that should reality check be paramount. * After all previous shenanigans failed to yield the expected result, OVH (Oando) swallowed all NNPCL retail arm...check
* Then came the news that DRL was all set to hit the market with its products, all of a sudden, NNPCL now (OHV) decided to adjust their prices upward to a point where it'd be the end-users go-to at all times seeing how it'd be almost impossible for DRL to sell at that price point and break-even.
Remember not to forget that OVH (NNPCL) has got a blank National cheque to enable them play the game of Thrones with Dangote via an endless subsidy to frustrate him in the market and to also convince and turn Nigerians against Dangote with questions about "why would imported fuel be cheaper than DRL's home-refined one"?
The next news will be "OVH-Oando" taking over Dangote Refinery in acquisition...lol
I wished we could all truly understand the kinder and petty games these guys are using our commonwealth and lives to play.
Dangote can never forgive himself for venturing on this refinery project or even siting it in Lagos. But na God wey go catch all others like him catch am because he believed so well in his infinite "Any Government in Power" patronage and waivers.
A more greedy cunning man is in power now and he's willing to see Nigeria razed down and disintegrated in place of seeing anyone else get positioned as the wealthiest and most powerful man in Nigeria aside him and his family. He could even claim to be avenging MKO's deletion.

MadPolitician: Not the most politically correct statement to make, but the truth is that the SOUTH WEST and the NORTH have been misruling Nigeria since July 29 1966 in the worst way possible. They like to make it look like Nigeria is a collective failure of all regions, but no! Some people wrecked this thing. From that date till today, Nigeria has generated trillions of dollars both from oil and other sources of revenue. They have had everything they would have needed to build a prosperous nation, but what do we have here? A gigantic embarrassment.
From 1970, there has been relative peace across the land untill Boko Haram reared its ugly heads mainly because of illiteracy and hunger. Lots of Nigerian professionals are scattered all over the world, and are willing to come home and help, we have arable land for agriculture etc. We have everything not to struggle so hard in life as a nation, but the political class of this two regions decided to work for neo colonialists and foreign powers, than for their people. Its crazy. Take away Jonathan's few years in power, it has been this two alternating seemslessly, handing over the baton to each other, while the rest sits back and watch. But when they fail, they want to share the blame around.
Basically, these two regions have flagrantly mismanaged our lives and left Nigeria to be nothing but a monument to corruption and maladministration. A country that could easily have been the biggest hope of the black race, is now the biggest shame. The north and the southwest owe not just Nigerians and Africans a serious apology for their disgraceful displays while in power, they also owe the whole black race an explanation as to why they decided to turn a whole generation of black people upside down, and made them the butt of all sorts of unsavoury jokes worldwide. East got there chance just as south south had a chance as well, If there reign was prosperous Nigerians would have stood by them against all odd when East apologize to North and south west for killing our notable leaders ...maybe then SW will apologize |

DeLaRue: NNPC bought OVH from 3 joint venture partners, one of which was Oando.
So, OVH was never owned by Oando alone.
Having bought OVH filling stations, NNPC then merged it's own existing filling stations (NNPC retail) with OVH and decided to call the combined businesses OVH.
Where is the controversy here.
You just needlessly sprinkled your usual biased article with Mr Tinubu and Oando's names to deceive your naive readers that somehow they were involved in dirty transactions.
NNPC bought OVH about 2 or 3 years ago. Oando no longer has anything to do with OVH since then.
Your claim that the Tinubus own Oando is also legally false. Oando is owned by its thousands of shareholders who are ordinary everyday Nigerians- including teachers, nurses, bricklayers, lawyers etc. Are these people Tinubu family members? With just N5000 any one can buy Oando shares and also become a co-owner of Oando.
Mr Kperogi, you can only deceive people who lack knowledge.
We remember how you used to dance around and avoid direct criticism of Mr Buhari during his 8 years in office.
