You should seriously consider IQ tests before individuls are permitted to post in the politics section. The bigotry of your people is nauseting really. If the bigotry of my people is nauseting then what should we call the hostility of your region to outsiders. You accuse yoruba every time but no tribe has done have the things yorubas have done for igbos. We have given you land, we give you post, my ancestor fed your region during the civil war and even paid your fathers £20, that dry fish igbos love so much do you know how it came about .. VikingKing: This your attempt to distract your people from the real information on this thread will definitely work. Do you know how I know it will work? It’s because most of you are too shallow to critically process information, y’all would rather just stick with your good old bigotry and hatred towards the igbos.
This statement that Tinubu along with the entire APC leadership keeps making has become a HUGE middle finger to the masses, but my bro, you’ll never see an Igbo man capping carelessly like this. You know why? Because he knows his people will never support him! Use the recent issue with Ikwechgh as a case study. But your leaders are always so brazen because they can always count on your hatred for the Igbos to supercede your good judgement.
Let me tell you, Igbo leaders truly envy your leaders.. tbh.. because unlike you, their people don’t have “Mumu button”. Hear we go again, I just pray the next generation of igbos wont inherit these victim mentality pass on from generation to generation. If you ever think of a tribe that dont condone nonsense Yoruba will definitely be number one, and if you ever think of a tribe with individual minds ... yorubas as still number one When you say IGBOS envy our leaders i believe you are just being myopic, Look at OBJ the main opposition he had were yorubas starting from his own state And as we speak the biggest criticism of Tinubu administration are yorubas, how do you explain tinubu losing in Osun and Lagos which are supposed to be his strong base. Lookmun: Don’t get me wrong as I agree with most of your points. I think the only area where we are not aligned is sympathy for Dangote. If it was the government that was making all this outcry and take action about why 4 refineries aren’t productive after lots of monies spent and empty promises I’d be happy.
You make a good point that it’s the duty of government is to protect local industries and this is why I fault not only this clueless APC regime but also their pathetic sympathizers. In fact I think many use this Dangote impasse as a smokescreen to continue their irrational support and if you see anybody on this thread that hasn’t criticized NNPCL and their cronies but they are always asking Dangote to reduce his price, they are the ones.
My issue with Dangote is that he is trying to evoke sympathy from the populace so that he can have his way. In other words, he is trying to use social means to achieve a business goal. This is why I won’t be dragged in their fight. All these talk of trying to get importers’ licenses banned and other actions are what I’m talking about.
And to be honest, for most Nigerians price is a much bigger issue than quality since we have been buying the so-called lesser quality fuel all our lives. It’s not like the higher quality fuel will do anything much significantly different and so could it be that Dangote erred in presuming quality to be high on Nigerians wishlist as he thought that they wouldn’t mind paying a premium. It’s seems unlikely that Nigerians would be interested in promoting Dangote’s dream at a premium cost to themselves if the benefit they get is “FX savings” which they never get to enjoy from anyway because of the same poor governance.
What exactly is Dangote asking for? Is he saying that government should ban all the importers of fuel? That’s government’s call (whether to increase tariffs for imports or introduce outright bans but he insisting on that is not his call. If they were engaging in sharp practices thereby hampering his business, then he can ask the regulator to come hard on the dubious practitioners. But in this case, the importers are also doing business (selfish or not - in fact all business people need some level of good selfishness) and he cannot force the hand of the law or government to cut off their hands. With the way Nnpc reneged on the agreement with Dangote from commencement who could have saved dangote if not the public And i asked did the public sympathy antics help dangote or not, would you have a $20 billion investment and you will let some rogues ruin it down, there are information about landing cost and pricing in public domain now that we have never seen, but dangote as enforce some level of transparency A higher fuel quality would last in your tank and prolong your engine lifes ... some of us select fillings station cos we are observant. what dangote is asking for is Fairness, industrialization should be prioritize, banning importation does not scramble Marketers, all they just have to is change source and they are still in business But those rogues know with Dangote many of there dirty secrets will be exposed. Dont say the marketers are just doing business, are you not aware its because of these rogues "subsidy" was demonized cos of corruption If Dangote have is way it might look like monopoly 1stly but it will displace cabals, and pave ways for more private refineries to spring up ... investors are watching keenly to see if the oil sector can be liberalised more local refinery is our ideal route to cheap, dangote must survive |

Aprocco: You are arguing beyond your intellectual capacity. Masking your ignorance with insults.
Free Trade Zone are not under Nigerian law except on trade terms with Nigeria. Both Dangote refinery and Marketers allowed by PIA are suppliers of petroleum products that's why they are competing to sell to Nigerians.
Whether by fixing refineries or by importation, Deregulation implies a market of multiple sellers and buyers where there is choice based on price.
Nigerians are not as gullible as you think. An average Nigerian is way smarter than you. Monopoly actually is a simple English word- Dangote sole supply. No Marketer needs to explain what Monopoly is to Nigerians.
Dangote a novice can only speak of his own cost, even though he confessed his price is being driven by international price not cost (another novice talk). Price in a deregulation is where Demand meets supply- Let all sellers give their quotes, the Market price is the one that gets demand. And Price would generally gravitate towards the Quotee that gets Demand.
If you understand the ills of Monopoly you would not suggest that Dangote should be sole supplier till another refinery starts operation. In a Monopoly where there is no option the objective of the Monopolist is to maximize Price/ Profit. The poorest country of the world would have to cope with inflation, starvation, collapse of SME and Commerce who all depend on PMS till another refinery is built.
Please seek education, you can't make up for a lacking intellect with ridiculous submissions. I recommend you spend some time on UDEMY rather than Nairaland. It would help you, trust me. If being you is intelligence i will pass beko, at the 1st hightlighted you simply shot yoursef ... Dangote refinery is primarily setup is to serve Nigeria, if junk of dangote trade is with Nigeria then he is subjected to the Nigeria trade terms, isnt that law in place Dangote is a producer and marketers are distributors go nd understand the difference. in layman's english Dangote has no connect to Nigerians without distributors, learn. Can we call what we are seeing a deregulation, Nnpc still fixed the price and as we speak me or you cant distinguish dangote fuel from imported fuel by Price ..smh Presently Nnpc is still importing and judging from the market price where is evidence imported fuel is cheaper When dangote mentioned int'l price influencing is price he is infering Nigerians to know he bought crude from Nnpc at int'l price which is the basis for price computation. I am not holding brief for Dangote, but i know the stupidiest thing is to trust the same people that have being explioting Nigerians for decades. All these economic theories can we achieve it with local refineries why must it be IMPORT. why are you people making it seems the only way to curb Monopoly is importation .. Nnpc was sole importer for how long, you all liked it But Dangote monopoly that will trigger other local refineries and reduce FX pressure is the Covid in town. Taking importation off the desk means cabals have to take local measures to combat Dangote, they cant go idle n watch dangote take it all, cant you guyz think. killing industrialization all in the name of cheap is the stupidiest thing, only Nigerians can reason that way |

Lookmun: Good point but we need to look at all sides. I know these NNPC guys and their co-plotters would rather have the sector and opaque as possible so that their shenanigans will continue but if I must play the devil’s advocate, I’d say that Dangote cannot win this war by smear campaign or going to court or NASS.
To put in another way, he is in business and the guys he’s fighting are also in business (like them or hate them). He cannot use a social reason like the need to stop imports and save FX to try and force stoppage of importation. He should do it the business way - by trying to make their fuel uncompetitive and if reducing his price will be detrimental to his refining business, he needs to spell it out clearly by enumerating the cost implications. He is a business man not a public service personnel.
Even if he’s able to demonstrate that reducing his price will make him uncompetitive, he still cannot force the arms of competitors to patronize him on his terms and he will need to find other ways. It’s why he’s in business. When you are in a match with a team that the refree is wearing there jersey your chances not to lose is only VAR, lets look at hostically since Dangote resorted to media & cry out as it paved ways or block ways for him, " Sometimes you don't need to win a war you did not start .. just survive it " quote me on marbles Dangote has an investment to protect while the Nnpc/marketers only have selfish interest to protect. How feasible is Dangote Monopoly with existences of national refineries and an open license to any investor at all time. How do you make "cheap" uncompetitive in a country where 80% can't even afford TM .. put omo igbo lg tv in store alongside fouani lg tv and watch 80% go for omo igbo lg tv that is the reality of the market dangote found himsef. except standard is enforced dangote cant compete it is the duty of govt to protect local industry... is it not mind boggling that the Apc govt that ban imported Rice/grains to promote local farmers are the ones indifferent about fuel importation. Lets also unban food importation to competite with local farmers .. is Rice cheap |

Aprocco: PIA- Dangote operates in Free Trade Zone Area for independence reason. He is not a local refinery and not entitled to the dictates.
Dangote for the upteenth time cannot label a product of a competitor as substandard. He didn't test those products, he has no authority to and it is just deliberately misleading to label competitors product substandard. All agencies and inspectors certified this product compliant, except you show a contrary Authority to the contrary stop the rhetorics already. Stop it.
Same PIA stipulates NNPC (Government Arm) would not have beyond 30% supply share, to avoid monopoly. The Deregulation never envisaged Dangote's dream of a monopoly.
To further illustrate the devilish extent a monopolist can resort, you should reach his allegation against Pinnacle oil. A multinational Dangote had facilitated their establishment beside their refinery only to turn around to accuse them of intent to blend fake products all because Dangote saw they were not solely buying from him.
It's a bad dream to think of being the only seller of petrol in Nigeria. Dangote has been given all the leverage he needs to price competitors out of Market but Profit ambition would not allow him tolerate competition.
Except you're Yan industry watcher, all these tendencies didn't catch anyone by surprise. Dangote's war with Marketers had started in 2021 when he sponsored a bill to ban Importation of fuel by entities who don't own refineries. It scaled first reading, a lot of underhand exchanges happened to ensure the bill was thrown out.
Dangote just can't thrive in a fair competition. ALOL !! Dangote is built in a free trade zone which is outside Nigeria geo location abi Dangote refinery enjoyed federal govt and CBN support and Nnpc even has a stake in dangote shares, if dangote is not local refinery is it now int'l refinery, egbami 🤣🤣 Mumu Dangote and Marketers can not be classified as competitors .... cos dangote is a producer with overhead cost while the useless marketer are retailers note the difference NDMPRA said dangote fuel is inferior and marketer claim dangote fuel is expensive and you think dangote is not justified to react or respond. In 2022, an adulterated fuel was imported and it went unnnoticed, what does that tell you about our regulatory body IF Dangote is not the one sabotaging our refineries or does he has power to forbid any investor from building another refineries .. how exactly does he plan to achieve Monopoly 🤣 the marketers crying know Nigerians are very gullible, if you want to push Nigeria against Atiku cite "corruption" and if you want to turn Nigerians against dangote just shout Monopoly .. people throw away there senses Dangote is prvy of All cost, he knows the only way any one can sell fuel cheaper than is price is to bring in substandard or lower quality .. which is no brainer MuMu use your brain, how can dangote Monopolized the oil sector Refinery license is open to All investor If Nnpc fix our four Refineries will Dangote issue directive to stop it or what ... sey una no dey think nii citing monopoly like school dropout. Aprocco: You don't need much education to know NUDPRC, the regulator is the only body that can grade a product substandard. Stop echoing a Monopolist' sentiments.
Dangote has gone to President, NASS, Court to compel NNPC, NMDPRA and Major marketers to buy from Him because he still has 500 million litres unpatrinized. So it's clearly, CLEARLY not about substandard quality but Monopolistic intent
Re-orienting Dangote is a community project- That his role in a Deregulated Market is not to grade products of his competitors, fix their prices or legislate compulsory patronage. All he has to is to make his own product competitive. An whats the trajectory of the so called NUDPRC, have they not shown partisanship enough. who disparaged Dangote fuel as inferior and how true is that statement today Its myopic to accuse Dangote of "Monopoly" when the same people inciting monopoly are the very ones sabotaging our national refineries from working Do you even know what the PIA stipulates about local refineries and allotment priorities. Dangote is making a move to protect is investment following the PIA, after all PIA is not written by dangote, and it beneficiary to all local refineries within naija. You cant bring a clone iphone to disparage my tm iphone market as "expensive and you expect me not to act or create awareness. Dangote can only make is product competitive in a market where standard is enforced, we dont sell same quality and you dare say my product is expensive thats not competition We have four dead refineries but those rogues tell us the only way to curb dangote is continue to import even at the detriment of our economy, and thats whats you are supporting |

Aprocco: Refiners Association AKA Dangote Refinery would have to stick to their roles as individual sellers and Allow the regulators play their role as well as afford the other sellers the peace to compete.
Very fundamental to deregulation is- All sellers are looking for highest prices while we buyers are looking for lowest price. Until IPMAN boycotted Dangote he refused to reduce price, calling competition substandard, saying he benchmarks International price rather than his cost of production.
Like Cement, PMS would reach ₦5,000 and Camels would ply 3rd Mainland bridge if we allow a Dangote monopoly. Providing low or substandard quality is that what competition means to you. As much competition is sancrosanct, standard must be enforced for all players only then we can have a good competition. |

They want to sneak subsidy back! You don get bro ... there are so many cover ups these rogues enterprise called Nnpc & marketer dont want Nigerians to know 1, Should Nigerians consume dangote fuel only .. they will observe a differences and it will expose Nnpc in bad light 2. Imagine importing chinco Lg tv and selling it at fouani price, imagine the mad profit that is what those useless marketers stand to lose should dangote have the market. Nigerians are mostly penny wise, cos we love cheap, 2 litres that is suppose to last 4hrs in your gen barely last 2hrs is that not pound foolish at the end. I lost hope in the expected succour from his refinery the day he started comparing prices of fuel in Saudi Arabia with Nigeria. Infact, I started losing trust in him when he made an outburst that he paid $100m for the land.
All these his remarks are pointers he is in business and nobody should expect manners from his refinery. Yes, he paid for the land and fuel prices in Saudi Arabia costs fortunes, but are they necessary remarks from him?
I'm beginning to nurse this feeling he is involved in all these so called uncertainties in the price of fuel. He should gerrout. If Dangote act like an opportunist whose fault, whats the job of regulatory body and what does the PIA guide around Local refinery ... so far how they even following the rules. You'd know the external forces working to hold this country down are not doing too much to achieve that, only need to have the wrong guys in office and all their wishes are met. If not so, how can you explain this?
These neo-liberal economies would tell our headless leaders what to do, because they have white skin, our leaders take everything hook, line and sinker - they'd implement, throw their people into poverty net and the same institutions come back to tell us how that policy is not working.
They told us this many years down the line when IBB and Olu Falae promoted SAP and forced it down our throats - they said it failed because it was not fully implemented(as Farooq Kperoggi recalled in one of his articles). I wonder which part of the SAP was not implemented.
It's high time we started arresting those good for nothing economists who come on air to preach the benefits of a policy and they turn out bad for our country.
The same advice that Indonesia and Malaysia turned down from IMF and World Bank is the same policy our government rushed to swallow. We know where those countries are today and look at where we are.

Starzo: The talk here is about fathers doing the test on their kids to test the integrity of their partners(mothers
Not about mothers or children doing it.
If the pressure to do DNA test is put up on the child and he/she finds out they're not their father's child,it's still the mother they'll come back to demand answers from Thank god say you get IQ see how she wan flip things... since when did DNA become the childs call. no be fathers dey run am naa only inheritance battle dey make children drag themselves go do DNA test |

pocohantas: I saw this video on TikTok. The interviewer was asking men on the street if they have suggested DNA to their fathers and what they will do of they find out they are not their father's child. Suddenly all the Nigerian men said they look like their fathers.
"If you see me, you have seen my father"
Laugh wan kill me that day. is it that your brother share no resemblance with your dad or found it funny cos you cant relate there is a reason people say like father like son

dominique: Your phenotype is a physical representation of your genotype, every single physial feature you have is a representation of your DNA. For your child to look EXACTLY like you, that means s/he inherited some of these genes off your features. Except, your wife cheated with a close member of your family who you shared genes with, a child that looks exactly like you is 100% yours.
My worry is not the DNA test but the fact that crooked labs will start capitalising of the gullibility of average Nigerians and start running fake tests. Be that the case your worries are not VALID, most people that go for DNA test run @least double test from different lab esp. when the result are not favourable Beside DNA labs are under high scrutiny cos it service is higly "sensational" ... breaching the code of ethics the risk no worth am DNA is not for average Nigerians, we rather use traditional means to settle it |

Diran: Live with your partner for at least 3 years before considering marriage. During this time, start adulting, learn to live with each other. Then get married.
Lagoslandlord: Get married early, face the troubles involved with your youthful strength and enjoy your later age when your kids are grown. Trust me by age 40 your worries are less
@trevorrandy: My dad warned me NEVER marry the woman you love but marry the one who loves you even if you don't love her you will learn to. Now am here after disobeying him ,full of regrets it always sounds illogical to guyz when you tell dem to marry the woman that love them |
