Are you sure you're not part of the average Nigerian who usually don't think and only dish out myopic perspectives of a whole broad subject.....
Do you really think just fixing the refineries and all that you put up here will give anything worthwhile to the value of your naira?
Whereas a greater more percentage of our livelihood and sustainability as a people are completely dependent on imported things because we are at the bottom of the food chain of stark consumers.
How many sovereign nations whose currency are of real worth and value are stark consumers on all round imported items?
Without proper industrialization forget about the value of the naira. Na life support the naira
dey on in terms of real working economy.
Benine republic is literally a dumping site and there currency is beta than naira, America is one off largest net importer globally, rate the dollar

You dont believe in fixing of our refineries but in the same lite you dare preach industralization, are you ok ??
With the way Nnpc and marketers are tackling Dangote refinery does it promote "INDUSTRIALiZATION" .. with what Dangote eye as seen will any investor or financier want to invest in that sector, seein dangote treated like that, the man is furstrated

i know what i am saying and if you feel you know better, how about you raise valid points as to why local refineries productivity and a cut off in dollar demands wont reflect strength to the Naira.

Cheap substandard that same dangote don dey use for years to power his vehicle? Tell me another story

It's insane that locally produce product is higher than imported one

Mind you, dangote petrol is low grade compared to USA petrol. Do you even know that petrol in USA get grade with different prices and dangote petrol quality no even come close to the lowest grade of petrol in USA when it comes to quality?

Dangote cab go to hell with his useless petrol
i dont know why an average Nigerian cant think, cant you see what excessive importation and demand for dollar is doing to our economy

In as much as we continue import fuel our national refineries will never work and naira will keep crashing cos of imbalance of trade

The true cheap in real sense is when Naira regains value and local refineries stand as competition around dangote ....
All these marketers are selfish bastards that have being Nigerians for year collecting free subsidy money , at a time they imported bad fuel that damaged peoples car and no one took responsibility.
Dangote like profit, are marketers not in business to maximize profit, is it not better we buy dangote fuel expensive now and naira regains value cos we save ourselves from importation.

Our true chance to cheap fuel is through our local refineries,

FG should issue licenses to individuals and corporate organizations to be importing cement also. One person cannot be controlling the economy.
Is dangote cement the only product in the market, you people carry so much bad belle for dangote as if he is the cause of our problems, for donkey year we couldnt fix a refinery these man took it upon himself to build one and some idiots are online crying monopoly.
what stopped your fathers from building a refinery before dangote thought of it .. sometimes we deserve the punishment we get from our leaders. very gullible people

"Dangote is here to save the day" they say grin grin

One of the reason why scientists assumed that the earth is round is because other planetary bodies surrounding earth are round!!

Similarly someone looking to know if Dangote refinery is truly here to help should look at other dangote industries, did they benefit common man? The answer is NO!

Fools do same thing and expect different results
Dangote is one of the highest employer of labour in the private sector

Dangote export and contribute immensely to our GNP

Dangote own the largest number of trucks driven by commoners

Dangote construct one of the best roads in Nigeria as SR

Dangote refinery can employ over 500 common man, what is the biggest benefit to a common man if not empowerment

Some of you just argue like school absentees, even if you wan stop dangote monopoly no be local refinery we suppose use ...
why are they making importation the only option and not local refineries ... they know Nigerians are gullible, by discretion one can tell the cabals grounding our refineries

I don't know the problem of this Dangote, if the marketers refuse to patronize you afterall you can export your product to other countries , must they buy from you?
Truly this man is another problem for Nigerians
dangote refinery was design and setup to meet local consumption, the primary target market is Nigeria thats why the project enjoyed govt incentives, support and Nnpc stake involved

There is no way Dangote can export all is daily production without unbearable loss, besides int'l market are regulated and there is a quota challenge

THE surest move for Dangote to cut Nnpc and marketers to size is to diversify into owning fill stations across Nigeria .. it is light that will seperate itsef from darkness

Dangote should own fillings stations and let the competition begin and lets the market weigh there options .. quality is a leverage cos naa that one go last inside tank .. which driver wont pick that over cheap

Dangote is too greedy, that is how he killed Ibeto cement. And some tribal persons supported him, now he want to do the same in the petroleum sector.

Had it been it's an igbo person that is importing petroleum into Nigeria now, he will definitely use judiciary to silence the person

Thank God he is facing his brother's from the North.

Let see how it goes
Some of you are just being unreasonable and

Is it the marketers that are not greed or Nnpc, even when pms int'l price falls do they reduce price but when it goes up as Nnpc ever spared Nigeria

When i see people talk of "Monopoly" .. Nnpc as being sole importer since when at zero benefit to the economy But it is Dangote monopoly that will subdue pressure of forex demands & importation that is given these naive minds migraine

Does Dangote really have "monopoly" where there is no law that forbids another local refinery from working ... if they are so objective about curbing "Monopoly" why are we not fixated on ensuring our national refineries work ... thats the only "real competition" that bears economic growth and affordable pump price.

However, there are regulation that prioritize and protect local production, except Dangote can't or has no capacity to meet our daily consumption, he is within the confines of the law to demand we stop importation

These bunch of crooked Marketers there is no guarantee if they import they wont target same price as dangote, how do we even differentiate .. its best Dangote diversify into filling stations for his best interest that how to break Nnpc and all these useless marketers back

Before dangote refinery these Marketers feign no forex to import but suddenly they are all so loaded ... let our local refineries curb Dangote. why cant it work

I like your argument.

But did you consider the fact that we were borrowing to pay subsidy?

We were also borrowing to support the artificial naira value?

Buhari had even borrowed money on crude oil that was yet to be refined

I will ask you, how long can you survive by borrowing?

Borrowing to even support the naira was economically terrible, especially for a country that decided to import when it could develop its own production.

To show how lazy the country is, we were borrowing to buy fuel, that we then subsidise with borrowed money?

We were even importing toothpick, paper, wire?

How can such an economy grow?

What Tinubu did, was expose the dying economy, now its either we survive or die.

I trust Nigerians, we will survive.
Kindly take into record, we are still borrowing under Tinubu, the govt is still borrowing for things we cant even pin point ... subsidy is still on, Tinubu govt term it shortfall cheesy
Under Tinubu we have so much spendings that are unappropriated or budgeted for, like the new private jet, beast SuV and the subsidy termed shortfall ... these are oblivous to the budget, for a fantastically corrupt leaders that is one big issue to be worried about.

I dont believe the money used to subsidize fuel or support the naira at a time were borrowed .... these are just cover up lies, Nnpc declared profit one minute and rush back the next to claim they are owing debts

Our economy is in shabbles not because we import but because our leaders intentionally fail to even do the "Norm" e.g local refinery is a norm that could have saved us 50% forex pressure but some cabals even had guts to go to court fuel importation must continue Benine republic is a dumping ground and there currency is not doing worst like naira
The problem of our economic is more of human factors, cardoso, Tinubu and most of our leaders have funds and investment offshores, if Naira gain value it doesnt favor them, and these are the people we entrust to fix the economy
Our leaders doing the right thing is detrimental to there "interest/investment"... thats why they leave road nd take bush path ...smh

They rather to use importation to curb dangote fuel monopoly .. instead of fixing our refineries ... very funny people

Tinubu is doing the right thing, the only reason I don't support him, is becaause we would have avoided this issue if Jonathan's 2015 subsidy removal was allowed.

But the people, not understanding economics and jeered on by people like BAT, prevailed against the subsidy removal.

Now that we are at another crossroad, we can reject his proposal and suffer worse fate in 2032.

See, when Nigerian leaders and governors carry issues like this on their head, know that its for their self-fish reason.

They are not gathering for boko-haram, or Chibok girls, or Corruption, or Election violence....but once its time to share money or something that will stop the free flow of money, you will hear their voice.

Choose wisely.
How can you opine Tinubu is doing the right even when the results are clearing showing nothing.
whatever you are doing and you can not pin point benefit or any sign of improvement then its as good as time wasting.
So far subsidy removal as worsen Nigeria economy, no doubt we moved from budget subsidy to unappropriated subsidy, subsidy is still on but we dont even have a clue how much we are paying, whatever we are paying as subsidy before is now ,×3 as naira worsen.

As a before Subsidy is the only benefit that successful get to Nigerians directly But than ended fully on may 29 cos one man was to failed to plan ahead.

Even developed nations, Govt are still in the business of subsidizing essentials why is subsidy demonized in Nigeria. So far all the money saved from removal where is it, more money to the governors to share but how as signified improvement or growth.
