The famous Zik flats/estate at the University of Nigeria Nsukka which contains 22 student hostels with restaurants and nursing mothers' hostel has been abandoned in a deplorable condition by the school management.The buildings were built by late. Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and donated to the University community.Shockingly,the buildings have been neglected by the school.

According to Mayango Arku who shared the photos,the lady pictured above was gruesomely burnt by a fire incident at her house in Liberia due to faulty electrical appliances.She later died at the hospital.Below is what he wrote.....

'Fire incident again in Voinjama city. A house opposite mine was gutted on fire due to electrical fault n the owner of the house got burnt massively as u can see n finally she has given off the ghost. RIP grandma'.

THREE ARRESTED FOR IMPERSONATING EFCC ACTING CHAIRMAN, IBRAHIM MAGU.


The Enugu Zonal office of the EFCC has arrested three persons: Chukwuma Charles Eze, Ogechi Emeka Okwuosa and Anokwuru Miriam Iheoma,(F) in a case of impersonation and attempt to obtain money by false pretences from the Anambra State Secretary to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Prince Casmir I. Ajulu. The arrest of the trio came on the heels of a petition that a text message was purportedly sent on 26th March, 2016 by the Acting Executive Chairman of EFCC, Ibrahim Magu to Ajulu’s phone requesting him to send a list of names of House of Representatives designates that want their Certificate of Return for the last election held in Anambra State.

Several subsequent messages from two mobile numbers belonging to Glo and MTN network respectively demanded from the petitioner the sum of N16,0000,000.00 (Sixteen Million Naira Only) assuring him that the EFCC Chairman was in touch and working with the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The suspects on sensing the reluctance of the complainant in cooperating with them started sending some text messages and calls threatening to deal with him if he failed to pay the said amount. But in a statement made by Iheoma who claimed to be Eze’s girlfriend, Eze collected her account details and that she was not privy to whatever business it was meant to be used for. On his own part, Eze said he collected the account detail because his friend Ogechi Emeka Okwuosa had asked him to find a UBA account with which he (Okwuosa) needed to use to receive money from someone. Further investigation is being carried out to determine the spread of the alleged syndicate’s activities and their possible victims.

According to a social media user who shared the photos/story,a conductor nearly jumped into a canal in Lagos taking a lady along with him because of a minor misunderstanding.Below is what he wrote....

"our Conductor just jumped into canal now. We board a bus from Ajah to CMS @N250, when we got to Ikate roundabout, they wanted to transfer us to another bus, that they are no longer going to CMS, so all the old ladies in the bus said NO! They are not leaving the bus, it has to take us to CMS, so one grabbed his shirt, he just quickly jumped into the canal, nearly taking the old lady along!"

His Excellency, Governor Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar Esq., has today launched the distribution of 200 Farm to Market Tricycles to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state. The programme, which was powered by the Federal Government under the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, took place at the Abubakar Umar State Secretariat, Bauchi.

Speaking at the event, Alh. Muhammad Lawal Tahir (Director of Parastatals, office of the SGF), who is also representing the SGF, congratulated Governor MA Abubakar and the good people of Bauchi State for being the second state to launch the programme in the country, adding that the programme marks yet another giant stride in the fight against poverty which the Governor is well known for. Alh. Tahir confessed that initially, Bauchi State was not among the states to benefit from the programme, but due to the exceptional effort made by His Excellency the Governor, Bauchi was later included. At the conclusion of his speech, the Director expressed his satisfaction in what he saw in Governor MA Abubakar calling on the good people of Bauchi State to continue supporting His Excellency Governor Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar and President Muhammadu Buhari because both leaders have their people at heart.

In his remarks, Governor MA Abubakar enunciated his appreciating to the Federal Government for its concern and also to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation for spearheading the distribution of the items. The Governor stated that by distributing the 200 units of tricycles to IDPs in the state, it further demonstrates his government's commitment to improving the well-being of the displaced persons.

Governor MA Abubakar also recalled that because of the proximity of Bauchi State to the states where the Boko Haram insurgency is more pronounced, Bauchi State have received a good number of IDPs who fled their homes in the wake of the insurgency.

The governor reminded the guests at the occasion that one of the cardinal objectives of the APC administration is the eradication of poverty through the provision job opportunities to the people, adding that the distribution of the tricycles is aimed at providing gainful employment to the IDPs and their host communities with the aim of improving their economic status.

Finally, the governor used the opportunity to call on the beneficiaries of the vehicles to take advantage of the peaceful disposition of the State to go about their activities peacefully and adhere strictly to traffic regulations and also take good care of the vehicles and make good use of them.

President Muhammadu Buhari Appoints New Permanent Secretary,Redeploys Nine

Buhari, Permanent Secretary, President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Ambassador Enikanolaiye, Audu-Rafiu Olusola as a Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service.


Until his appointment, Ambassador Enikanolaiye was the Charge-de affairs at the Nigerian High Commission India.

In addition, President Buhari has also redeployed eight Federal Permanent Secretaries.

The circular announcing the redeployments, which was signed by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, stated that the process of handing and taking over should be completed on or before August 5, 2016.
