Below is what Saraki shared on social media...… Private Sector Can Now participate in Nigerian Railway Industry This morning, I signed the Senate’s version of the Repeal and Re-enactment of the Nigerian Railway Corporation Act of 1955. This re-enactment, which is coming nearly 61 years after the act first came into existence, is significant because it provides a legislative framework that opens up Nigeria’s railway system to private sector participation. The changes in the law are also aimed at promoting competition in the railway system - in order to make the service more affordable, effective and accessible to every single Nigerian. Furthermore, the framework which the Senate has passed places emphasis on the maintenance culture of our rail systems. I would like to commend the Senate Committee on Land Transport, led by Senator Gbenga Ashafa for the thorough job that they did in putting together the final version of the Bill. I am equally delighted that the Nigerian Society of Engineers are in support of this Bill, as a message I received from the Chairman of the Society earlier today expressed that the 8th Senate has achieved a feat that “seemed like an impossibility for more than 40 years.” Moving forward, it is my hope that this Bill, which was a key focus at the breakout session on Land Infrastructure at the National Assembly Business Environment Roundtable (NASSBER) earlier this year, will be given expedited passage in the House of Representatives and signed into law by Mr. President for the benefit of Nigerians across the country. Embattled Caretaker Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and former two-time governor of Kaduna State took to social media to urge his party members to stop insulting the ‘failing’ government of the day but rather they should provide an alternative. Seems Dino Melaye is not done with his war with Sen. Remi Tinubu. Few days after he released statement to explain what ensued between him and the Senator and why he had to threaten her, Dino Melaye has again called her out listing several ‘misconducts’ of Sen. Remi Tinubu to buttress his perception of her. Read what he said below... 'WHY ALWAYS REMI TINUBU? : For the record, I want to give a few instances to buttress my perception of Senator Oluremi. 1. Just after she was first elected into the senate, one of the commissioners, who went to pay homage and congratulate her "mistakenly" referred to her as "distinguished senator". She took everyone aback when she flared up and warned never to be addressed like that again, asking the commissioner: "What happened to Yeye? Do you know how many senators we have made? You probably should have called me by name. The man apologised and quietly left. 2. She held a town hall meeting in Yaba, sometime ago during her first term and when it was the question and answer session, Seun Okinbaloye of Channels asked a question, alluding to the fact that "we have heard of a few things about you and your husband and some of the things you have been doing in Lagos". Senator Oluremi wouldn't let him land, when she interrupted him and asked: "Who are you and where are you from? You heard a few things about us? We are Lagos". Everyone was stunned and I was there. Another lady from LTV 8 (can't figure her name off the top of my head now) also stood up and asked her own question, starting with "distinguished senator". She immediately pounced on her: "Imagine, she just called me senator when she was meant to call me mummy". She also gave me mine. She mistook me for someone else from THISDAY and was going to attack me before someone else came to my rescue. However, I saved the day by going to the MC, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan (who was then Ejigbo LG chairman) to go and appeal to the journalists to take out the vexatious aspects of the interraction gone bad before the whole essence of the meeting is lost to her mannerism. 3. I know a former member of the National Assembly, who had to go to one of today's cabinet members to report her, that the next time she was rude to him, he would damn the consequences and take her to the cleaners. I also know that Mark as former SP avoided her like a plague. Did anyone see how she charged at Senator Obanikoro when she objected to his nomination as minister? Instances abound and these are unbecoming incidences that should not be found in anyone's character file. But that's who she is. It will take a "real man" to brush aside such invectives and pretend an encounter ever took place with her. That's where Dino missed it. But Remi can be such a menace. Please note, I am not one given to cheap talks and these instances, I can verify to this platform. Thanks all. Remi embarrassed her SP and the DSP The same woman almost slapped Senator Rafiu Ibrahim and nobody demanded an apology /response from her or the entire Senate. Why now? The same woman deliberately sat on the DSP's seat to cause uproar yet, nobody demanded an apology from her. Why now? Am just wondering why Tinubu supporters are now demanding a word from Senate after the same woman engaged Dino Why always Remi Tinubu? Fatima Binta, Oduah & other mothers are yet to fight a man in the senate Remi Tinubu Calling someone's husband a thug/dog, I mean you can't be of misconduct and hoping to become a role model for the next set of Generation Hajiya Gambo, Sarah Jubril fought for women race without wrestling today, they are worthy to be looked up to I repeat Fumilayo Kuti, Hajiya Gambo, Sarah Jubril fought for woman race without attacking any man - they are worthy to be looked up to. SHARE PLS TILL MRS FIGHTER COMEBACK TO HER SENSE.' Source: http://www.trezzyblog.com/2016/07/mrs-fighter-should-be-made-to-come-back.html

Tiwa Savage is really making Nigerian proud.Like Wizkid, she is going global.Tiwa was referenced as the Beyonce of Africa by veteran US DJ radio host, Ebro Darden of Hot 97. He made the reference during an interview with Jamaican artiste, Beniton. “Hopefully this plays out the way I’m dreaming it to play out. Which is, now that in the UK with Grime and it’s dancehall roots. Amd Skepta and his Nigerian roots, and Wizkid being from Nigeria, but also making the Drake ‘One Dance’, writing that record, and then there’s a Tiwa Savage which is like Beyonce of Africa, doing a record with Busy Signal.” Ebro said. He continued: “My dream is that we finally get to a point in music where all African people on the continent is making records together. And it’s becoming mainstream. We have Caribbean Africans, Africans in the UK, Africans in America, all making records because, once again, everything we love today all comes from there, it’s their culture. It comes from the drum which all comes from Africa, so I would love to see that come full circle.” Tiwa Savage has shot the video for ‘Keys to the city’ (remix), featuring Jamaican dancehall superstar, Busy Signal. The video came at a huge personal cost. It was during the plans for the video, that she had a miscarriage in January 2016, in London. It should be recalled that the singer and Mavin boss Don Jazzy recently visited USA for a possible deal involving international rap mogul Jay Z’s Roc Nation. Cristiano Ronaldo has splashed out £1.7million (about $2.2million) on a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport to treat himself after securing Euro 2016 glory with Portugal. Ronaldo, who has been enjoying a holiday in Ibiza with his family, decided to spend his well-earned cash on the new luxurious sports car. It is said to be the world’s most expensive car. Only 450 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport’s are believed to have been produced. The Super Sport version of the Veyron is the fastest street-legal production car in the world, with a top speed of 431 km/h (268 mph). The original version has a top speed of 408.47 km/h (253.81 mph). It was named Car of the Decade (2000–2009) by the BBC television programme Top Gear. The standard Veyron won Top Gear’s Best Car Driven All Year award in 2005. The transmission is a dual-clutch direct-shift gearbox computer-controlled automatic with seven gear ratios, with magnesium paddles behind the steering wheel and a shift time of less than 150 milliseconds, built by Ricardo of England rather than Borg-Warner, who designed the six speed DSG used in the mainstream Volkswagen Group marques. The Veyron can be driven in either semi- or fully automatic mode. It uses special Michelin PAX run-flat tyres, designed specifically to accommodate the Veyron’s top speed, which cost US$25,000 per set. The tyres can be removed from the rims only in France, a service which costs US$70,000. Curb weight is 1,888 kilograms (4,162 lb). This gives the car a power-to-weight ratio, according to Volkswagen Group’s figures, of 446.3 metric horsepower (328 kW; 440 bhp) per ton. The Bugatti Veyron has a total of ten radiators. AfDB team visits Abia, inspects Federal Roads in Aba A delegation from the Headquarters of the African Development Bank (AfDB) in Abidjan, led by Mr. Mwila Aeron Katambula, the Bank's Transport Specialist, is currently in Abia State for the final lap of talks between Abia State Government and AfDB on some developmental projects of interest to the bank in Abia State. The state Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, who received the team and another team from the Federal Ministry of Works Abuja that accompanied the AfDB team yesterday at the Government House Umuahia, said that Abia State can't wait to see the commencement of reconstruction of some major roads in Aba, especially Port Harcourt road and Ikot Ekpene road, among others. "Road infrastructure is very important to us in Aba. Apart from being the commercial nerve Centre of Abia, Aba is the SME Centre of Nigeria. Aba is very important to the economy of both Abia and Nigeria. "So the issue of road infrastructure, waste management and storm water management are the challenges we face in Aba. "Abia State does not have the resources to do good work at Port Harcourt and Ikot Ekpene roads. With your visit today, you've renewed our hope that help will come very soon and the roads will be fixed. "On our part we have tried to do what is required of us in terms of ensuring that the ground work is done to enable AfDB come in." The Governor said. Speaking on why they're in Abia, Katambula said: "We are eager to participate in the development of Abia State. Our mission today is a follow up to meeting we had before, we want to ensure that everything is ready because we want to fast track the projects that the bank will take up in Abia." The AfDB and FMW teams later met with the State's Commissioners for Works, Hon. Eziuche Ubani, and that of Finance, Hon. Obinna Oriaku, and other top state government officials. After several hours of meetings, the Commissioner for Works, Hon. Ubani led the two teams to Aba, to have on the spot assessment of the two key Federal Roads: Port Harcourt and Ikot Ekpene Roads located in the commercial city. The inspection tour offered them the opportunity of first hand information of the level of decay of the roads and the trauma and suffering of the residents and travelers in and around these two key roads. AfDB is currently doing the technical analysis and studies of the roads before releasing funds for repairs of the roads. This accounts for why the AfDB team had to come with the FMW team to meet face to face with Governor Ikpeazu and his team in Abia. During the visit to Aba, the Commissioner for Works, Hon Ubani told the AfDB and FMW team that the state government "is desperate to fix roads in Abia, and Aba in particular to stimulate economic activities and drive development across the state" "So far we've done a good number of roads which fall within the responsibility of the state, but unfortunately, we can't fix federal roads without first agreeing on terms of fixing them with the Federal Government. "Unfortunately we don't have the amount of money required to fix these roads, especially Port Harcourt and Ikot Ekpene roads, that is why we are delighted to have the AfDB here together with a team from the Federal ministry of works, to see the level of deterioration of these roads." On the 5th of July 2016, former Nigerian National Football player Austin “Jay Jay” Okocha alongside his brother Emmanuel Okocha unveiled a charity organisation – Jay Jay Okocha Foundation at a world press conference held at i-naira.com digital hub in Ikoyi. According to Austin Okocha, the primary objective of the foundation is to use football to raise awareness on the strategic importance of Education, Peace and Unity for the economic growth of Nigeria. He noted that as a non-profit organisation, Jay-Jay Okocha Foundation will be focused on: Raising finance through sales and auctioning of football memorabilia especially those belonging to the founders for charitable causes. Raising finance through the organisation of Testimonial Matches that will attract big ticket sponsorship and donors to the cause of the foundation. Raising finance through outright solicitation of support from the general public. Using the game of football as a means of contact and collaboration with communities that shelter acutely deprived children and youths in Nigeria and elsewhere. Assisting vulnerable people around the world access minimum opportunities that is required to motivate people to build an independent, dignified life for themselves. Just as these creative footballers entertained Nigerians during their active days on the pitch, they have brought a fresh breath on how to raise ethical funding for charity by appointing a professional auctioning company (i-naira Integrated Resources Ltd – www.i-naira.com) to handle its needs for funding, raising through auction by means of organising events as well as show casing items donated to the foundation on their auction website for bidding. Hillary Nwaukor CEO i-naira.com reiterated what the company represents. Determined to give back to the Society, the former Super Eagles’ skipper said that “football changed my life and I am going to use football as a tool to impact Nigerian lives positively”. He stressed that the foundation will focus on supporting the most vulnerable and less privileged children and that he is willing to raise the required finance to sponsor this good cause by selling cherished items acquired in the course of his professional career and i-naira.com meets their expected need to ethically raise money through auctioning. The event was well attended by close associates and the ladies and gentlemen of the press as well as his former super eagles’ team mates who gave heartfelt support and encouragement to the foundation.
