Eid Fitr prayer was concluded peacefully and successfully at the Ramat Square, in Maiduguri.

The Eid which was led by the Imam Idaini of Borno, Imam Asil Alsunusiyyu.It was attended by Gov. Kashim Shettima of Borno state, His Deputy, Alhaji Usman Mamman Durkwa, the Shehu of Borno, the Chief of Army Staff, Maj-Gen. Yusuf Tukur Buratai, Alhaji Dr. Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-kanemi and other top government and military officials.

Reports have so far peace in all parts of the city and state.

Governor Shettima later hosted Buratai and other senior army officials to Sallah feast.

The crisis in PDP seems to be more complicated as Sheriff's candidate for 2016 Edo state gubernatorial candidate has submitted his form to INEC.Senator Modu Sheriff yesterday unveiled Matthew Iduoriyekwemwen as PDP candidate for the governorship contest.In a ceremony at his  Gana Street office, Tuesday evening, Senator Sheriff said the Independent National Electoral Commission was obliged to accept his candidate when he formally presents him to the electoral body.

MR Matthew Iduoriyekemwen,after emerging as the PDP flag bearer in the primaries conducted by the Modu Sheriff faction of the PDP picked ex-National Woman Leader of the PDP, Herbetta Okonofua, as his running mate for the election.Okonofua who is from the Central senatorial district of the state, the area where the mainstream candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu,is likely to worsen the crisis as the votes from the region is likely to be shared.

It should be recalled that Port-Harcourt court ruling sacked Sheriff and recognised the Senator Ahmed Makarfi led panel as the authentic leadership of the party.Despite the ruling Senator Sheriff said he would  be relying on last week’s judgment by Justice Okon Abang of Federal High Court in Abuja  to present.

The wahala continues in PDP.It suffices to say that PDP is a one party with two candidates in Edo state.Abeg who we go vote for?

The Militant Group Niger Delta Avengers have re-opened another twitter account with the handle @NDAVENGERS1.

The groups handle had earlier been suspended by the micro blogging site for infractions to its rule on the use of the site for violence and perpetuation of violent acts.

Twitter has recently shut down over 1500 accounts believed to be linked to various terrorist organisations.

JUSTICE FOR POOR MAID: WE ARE CALLING FOR POLICE INVESTIGATION ON THIS MATTER!

This woman is allegedly shot by the man that she is working in his house as a maid. The man name Jamilu (with a traditional title as Barden Kano) is said to be from a royal family in Kano but lives in Barnawa Area of Kaduna.

In my attempt to know the story behind this photos. I spoke with a Lawyer/Activist in Kaduna who was following up this matter and this is what he said to me:
The man was taking an afternoon nap when his little daughter was crying. The cry woke him up and he asked after his wife and the wife was not in the house. He blamed the Nanny for leaving the daughter. So, he brought out two guns (long and short), aimed at the Nanny and fired her. As she managed to step out from the house but, she fell down as a result of amount of blood she was bleeding. The man came down to plead with her and decided to take her to the hospital. He then, quickly called one of the Community leader and told him what happened, the leader called the CP. Now, from all indications, the narrative is changing, the man is going round telling people that he was servicing his gun and the there was accidental discharge which shot at his maid. To cover up this issue, the Lawyer said Jamilu made offer to bribe his maid and the Community leader.

General Mohammadu Buhari, leader of the yet to be registered All Progressives Congress, APC, which is hoping to benefit from the numerical strength of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, and presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, in the 2011 presidential election has accused ACN governors of corruption.

Spokesman for Gen. Buhari and chieftain of the Save Nigeria Group, Mr. Yinka Odumakin alleged that Governors of the ACN award one Kilometer of Road construction for N1 Billion.

Odumakin said, “I can tell you authoritatively that the most dangerous and terrible tendency in Yoruba politics is the house of deceit that Tinubu represents.”

The spokesman for Gen. Mohammadu Buhari recalled how he dragged former Governor Alao Akala to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for awarding One Kilometer of road forN50 Million and said most Yoruba leaders are “greedy.”

Continuing, the spokesman for General Mohammadu Buhari said; “I can tell you authoritatively that the most dangerous and terrible tendency in Yoruba politics is the house of deceit that Tinubu represents.

“Only those who have sold their souls will ignore this fact. There has never been any such greedy bunch in our nation; not even under the PDP.”

“I took Akala before EFCC in 2010 for awarding roads at N50m per km in all the LGs in Oyo state. Today your Asiwaju is collecting N1b per km across the South-West. “When Tinubu turned 60 ACN states contributed N1b for a bash, nobody tried that in Yoruba land before.

“Chief Adebanjo was chairman of AD in 1999 and not one relation of his got a ticket unlike your Tinubu, whose wife is a senator, son in law a Rep, Sister in law a House member in Lagos and daughter now Iyaloja via imposition.

Your grouse with the old men may be for reasons you have not stated but you know they are far more honorable than a million Bola Tinubu.”

Odumakin has been Buhari’s spokesman from the electioneering days in 2011; Gen. Buhari lost the election which triggered off violence in parts of the North. Critics believe that the electoral violence that claimed several lives, especially of NYSC members was caused by inciting comments by his supporters.

Holy Ghost Enugu shut down as Catholics demand Fulani herdsmen to ranch their cattle or get out of Enugu state.

All the Catholics in Enugu state today stormed the Holy Ghost Cathedral Enugu to protest the killings, murder, rape, destruction and massacre of ndi Enugu and destruction of their farm lands by Fulani herdsmen.

The protesting Catholics were led by Bishop Onaga, all the Catholic priests and sisters.

The protest which was to take off from Holy Ghost Cathedral Ogbete Enugu, to govt house Enugu was rather restricted to the premises of the Cathedral when the state Governor, Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi Ugwuanyi, Deputy Governor, Cecilia Ezeilo and other govt officials came to the Cathedral to address them.

Addressing the crowd numbering over 10,000 persons, Bishop Onaga asked also the state, local govt and traditional leaders in Enugu state who are negotiating or have negotiated with Fulani herdsmen to cancel such negotiation as nothing other than ranching will be acceptable.

The Bishop called on the National Assembly to withdraw and grazing bill currently before it. He equally asked the state govt of Enugu state not to consider any grazing bill in the state.

The Catholic Bishop therefore reiterated that the church will do everything to maintain mutual peace in every part of the country.

Two AGIP staff were killed innocently by unknown gunmen on the Bayelsa waterways.Mr javan Nathaniel and Mr Nathaniel, are all indigenes of Brass Local Government Area in Bayelsa State.

They were sailing back from Akepilie community to Obama flow station(AGIP location) on Wednesday with a speedboat, at OKOROMA Tereke waterways of Nembe Local Government Area in Bayelsa before they were ambushed by the unknown gunmen. Their bodies were recovered today after floating.

The man identified as Alex was allegedly butted with a gun booth  along Eket-Ibeno(Ebana by Peugeot Motors) by a policeman. According to the victim, a police officer stopped him and asked for his car particulars which he handed over to him. After checking the particulars and realising that all the particulars were intact, he told Alex that “you suppose know what to do nah!" When the victim insisted that he should return his car particulars the officer out of annoyance butted his head with the gun booth. He then alerted other officers and they all drove away in their Patrol Volvo.

President Muhammadu Buhari says Nigeria is paying dearly for incompetence in managing high revenue that accrued from oil, particularly over the past decade, and for allowing the decay of critical infrastructure.
Speaking at the State House, Abuja, Monday, while receiving the Chief Global CEO of Unilever, Mr Paul Polman, the President said his administration is working very hard to change the structure of the Nigerian economy battered by several years of mismanagement.

''We refused to save for the rainy day. Now the rain is beating us. No money, no savings, nothing. And we are thoroughly wet from the rains," he said.
President Buhari said Nigeria was paying the price for turning herself into a mono economy, but assured that the country would soon be able to feed herself, and even export, with the current emphasis placed on agriculture.
He assured that the Federal Government would fast-track the implementation of strategies to ease doing business and attract more investors into Nigeria.
"We want to create jobs, and supporting manufacturing is one way to do it. As soon as we have stabilized our budget, I would personally be interested in the manufacturing sector, particularly in the generation of essential raw materials," the President said.
The Chief Global CEO of Unilever said the conglomerate had been in Nigeria for 93 years, making it the oldest manufacturing concern in the country.
"Our products are more Nigerian than other Nigerian brands. Despite the economic downturn, there are opportunities to further advance our business here.
"The situation to invest and continue to invest here is very encouraging," Mr Polman said, adding that Unilever had invested about N15 billion in Nigeria in the past three years.

Other people present at the meeting were Yaw Nsarkoh and Igwe N. Achebe, Chairman Unilever Nigeria.
