Wizkid was arrested from his Nairobi Crown Plaza hotel room on Saturday afternoon and quizzed by police only hours before his flight back to Lagos.
The arrest was in connection with allegations that he was caught smoking illegal substances.

In what was probably the most confusing series of vows culminating in Gelder kissing a mirror, the bride (brides?) pledged that she would always be true to herself. Gelder, a professional photographer, tied her own knot in front of 50 of her friends and family as part of her journey of self-awareness.

Gelder says she didn’t necessarily plan on proposing to herself on a park bench, but she was always intrigued by the idea of self-marriage: “I … have a strong recollection of when I was 18 at university and studying performance art, hearing that line in a Björk song called ‘Isobel’: “My name’s Isobel, married to myself,” and thinking, crazy as that sounds, I totally get that. A Man has been arrested by the Nigerian police over the murder of a middle-aged woman, identified as Silifat Yakubu.She was allegedly killed by her husband, Ismail Yakubu, at Igbele, near Araromi Ale Olorunda Local Council Development Area, along Badagry Expressway in Lagos.

It was gathered that the mutilated body of the deceased was found in a small river located at the community’s entrance, where she was supposedly dumped after she was murdered.
Vanguard gathered that, some of the victim’s body parts, such as her eyes, breasts and uterus, were allegedly missing when her corpse was found by passersby, suggesting that she must have been murdered for ritual purposes.

Ambimbola Sule, a commercial motorcyclist in the area, said:

A mum has been arrested over claims she allowed her young daughter to be raped by a gang of men from the age of four.

The girl, who is now 10, told detectives that she was repeatedly sexually abused over a five-year period by different men, leading to the arrests of seven people, including her mom and her uncle.


A security source told news men it is one of the worst examples of alleged child abuse that officers have ever encountered. It is absolutely horrific. On a scale of one to 10 this ranks at around a 20.

According to the girl, she was living with her mother in South Dublin at the time the attacks took place and she would take her to a number of houses where she was forced by different men to perform horrific sex acts.

Officers have been unable to establish if money was exchanged whenever the girl was abused.
