Romance / PHOTOS: A 26 Year Old Man Drugged And R Aped Lady In Oyo by chiebuka66: 6:01am On Apr 03, 2015
26 year old Isah Buruku is a Fulani from a notable family was among the suspects paraded on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 by the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr Muhammad Musa Katsina. The police commissioner told Nigerian Tribune that Buruku had been on the wanted list of the police for the offence of armed robbery and r ape in Igbeti town and its environs.

Crime Reports learnt that Isah, who lives in Igbeti, had a Volkwagen Golf car and used to go to Gambari community to relax. Information gathered by Crime Reports revealed that trailers used to park at Gambari and commuters going to the northern part of Nigeria used to wait for articulated vehicles conveying goods to the north to board to their different destinations at cheap prices or to get a free ride.

Isah was said to have taken his time to study the young ladies who used to be part of those seeking a cheap ride. From there, he was said to have come up with a method of approaching any young lady waiting on the highway, pretending as if he wanted to assist her. He would convince the lady that it would be difficult to get a ride easily at that point, offering to help such a lady to Eyenkorin in Kwara State where she would get a vehicle faster and cheaper.

While in the car, the young man, who is married with two children, would offer the lady some drinks which, unknown to her, had been laced with drugs that would induce sleep. After the lady must have slept, Isah would allegedly make a u-turn and take the lady to an apartment he rented aside the one he lives in with his family.

After raping the lady, Isah would reportedly ransack her belongings and go away with valuables he could lay his hands, after which he would leave her to her fate.

It was learnt that the ladies who fell victims had always felt too ashamed to report the case to the police and had always borne their pains in silence. Until the last one that occurred, which could be described as proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back.
As usual, Isah was said to have picked a victim whom he drugged. He was reported to have kept the lady for five days, raping her continuously in her unconscious state for the five days. At the end of the fifth day, he was alleged to have removed the N50,000 he found in her bag and left.

Politics / Photo: Another Deadly Virus Surfaces - Marburg Haemorrhagic Fever (MHF) by chiebuka66: 11:44am On Oct 11, 2014
With West Africa, and indeed the rest of the world, still reeling from the deaths brought about by the Ebola virus, the recent death of a Ugandan hospital technician of another deadly viral disease, Marburg Haemorrhagic Fever (MHF), has brought fresh fears, Tribune Newspaper reports.

Uganda’s Ministry of Health disclosed that a total of 99 people who had been in contact with the victim had been moved to quarantine. These contacts are being monitored for signs and symptoms of the disease after tests confirmed that the 30-year-old man who worked as a radiographer in a Kampala hospital died of the disease. The man was said to have had a headache, abdominal pains, diarrhoea and vomited blood before he died.

Marburg virus was first identified in 1967, after simultaneous outbreaks in Marburg (from which the disease takes its name) and Frankfurt both in Germany, Belgrade, Serbia and Yugoslavia. It was later traced back to monkeys imported from Uganda for laboratory work. Since then, the virus has appeared sporadically, with just a dozen outbreaks on record. The most recent outbreak, also in Uganda, in 2012, killed four out of 15 patients, according to the United States of America’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

I went to Lagos to work as an apprentice hairdresser,”None of the fathers of my children were good. They never took care of me or the children.
I turned to the only person who has been really helpful to me. My lover (Deru) was a good man. He helped me anytime I called on him.

“When we reconnected after I got back from Lagos, we continued our love affair secretly because he was always there when I needed help.“He came as usual on September 30 around 9am. I was on my way out of the house; I was going to work already that day. But he met me as I got out of the door and said he was visiting me.I told him I could spare some hours before I left for work, so I went back inside with him. As soon as we got in, he stripped and I did the same. It was just one round of sex that we had and I don’t know why that could have killed him.Our lovemaking was not even that long. He started complaining that he was not feeling fine. He said he was feeling tired and dizzy. Shortly after, he collapsed and stopped breathing.”

Confused about what to do next, she dialled the telephone number of a male relation, explaining what had happened.

“My brother (the relation) told me to calm down, promising to come to my aid later that afternoon so that we could decide on what to do. But when I did not see him by evening, I realised he had run away and switched off his mobile telephone in fear,
