Sometimes I wonder how far this nation would have gone if it was just SS/SE/SW-though they have their differences but they would have fared far better together than this current arrangement. I just see Northern Nigeria as a burden or yoke on the South. We would always have to drag the North along. And you know how hard it would be dragging something along you also would move at snail speed.

And since we can't have a secession it is important that we create "Independent States" where Abuja is thorough deemphasized and the state have their resources to each develop at its own pace.

Have you ever seen a developing country secedes peacefully? Look at the proliferation of arms in Nigeria today compared to the 60's when the first secession call was made and tell me if you honestly thinks Nigeria will survive it.

We should be looking for ways to resolve our differences and move the country forward not bringing it to its kneels.

If only those calling for breakup knows the full implication of that. Imagine the country breaks up, tell me, into how many parts? Is there a part or tribe that gets along? Or does the Igbos think for a minute that the Ijaws will let then dictate to them and vice versa. Or the Fulanis get along with Hausas? We can go on and on. So people should think before clamouring for secession. Because it's not mutually exclusive to anyone and it will only lead to upheaval, violence and more upheaval.
