erico2k2: I dont know how computer litrate you are both I hope you have a clue,
Now ECU are like a samll computer, you need the part number to know the type of ECU, after you got one that is of same make and model, you now need to program it with your VIN which you failed to tell us on here, go back to your car and copy the VIN thats the only way out to program it and for us to get that real model of the car,U just cant buy any ECU plug it in your car and Expect it to work, you have to program it in with teh VIn plus your milage, I did one for my Wife's car last week when the ECU in the Jeep liberty failed, though It was programmed form the USA.

I hv posted d vin no, pls read my post before commentin ok, The ecu was stolen yestaday from where I packed d car. I dont know d part no since d car was purchased last week, i hv not even put d plate no on it. Ok can u help m

lomomike: I use Tramigo but one of my friend use G-Tracker. We haven't got any complain since we started using them. (Except when there is no credit in the sim or cellular/gps network is very bad).

Lomomike how much did it cost u to instal G tracker and do u pay annually for tramigo. Thank u

pek: reading the comments on mechanics and brain box, I won't say I am surprised! I am only surprised people haven't realised How daft our mechanics can be. replacing an engine because you can't get the right ECU is just lame. you don't buy brain box on trial basis. you need to know the right thing.

If you know the country of origin, that would help too, as a 2003 Toyota Corolla from North America will most certainly have a different ECU from a Euro model.

So if you are a quality freak like me, then go for Tramigo.

On what vehicle (state the year model) are you looking at installing it. This information is important because I usually prefer using ignition sensing rather than Key-starter or Fuel cut methods of demobilisation. So for further guide pass more info on type of vehicle. Cheers.

Thank u gyz I hv seen it. It is placed at the engine block facing forword where the gearbox bell housing is bolted to the engine block just under the waterhose to the right of the exhaust manifoldd. It should start with 1zzxxxxxxx.

but as the car get serviced and repaired along the years the sticker is removed or numbers get erased

i dont see why nigerian government require the engine number when an engine can be changed
