Many thanks for the response and advice, however, my inlaw sponsoring the programme doesnt mean i cant finance it too. He just want to take up the responsibility while i make sufficient provision fro my family while away. I agree with you that it makes no sense going to Canada to study when there are opportunities to do so in Nigeria, however, you didnt take cognizance of the in-depth training in Canada, the duration and of course the work experience it provides unlike Nigeria where you can only get such training for few days. There is quite a lot of difference if you understand what i mean.

Again, thanks you so much for the observation, contribution and advice. I look forward to your further review.

I totally get you. But the important question is...will the Visa officer understand from your point of view. I usually advise applicants that 'If any part of your application doesn't add up in your head, chances that it wouldn't to the VO is high'.

With your years of experience and what you intend to achieve with the training you are applying for, I think it is only proper to act as your sponsor! Leave family issue of who will cater for your family in your absence. You will sort that out happily when your successfully collect your visa!

About the program you are going for, it is left to you to convince the visa officer in your letter of explanation why you are going to spend so much on an international degree and why you have chosen to not study in your home country! You need to do a lot of work and research on this letter and explain everything in full details and facts to back up your claims!

I wish you all the best! Feel free to share on this thread any issues you may encounter in your application process. We are one big happy family!!! grin

Dear All,

First, I appreciate you for this forum. Information shared have been very valuable and helpful. However, I have a perculiar case that requires advice from all members.

I am in my early forties and planning on retirement to float a consulting firm in IT. To achieve this i intend pursuing a professional programme (ACS) in Montreal for 12 months (programme comes with internship) then acquire relevant work experience there for one year after graduation before returning home to set up my firm. My inlaw has agreed to sponsor the study whether full or part.

I have applied for my CAQ and have it approved, i intend applying for my Study visa. What do you think are the required documents required for this? What do you think are my chances of getting the TRV approved? How long does it take to get decision on Study permit? Can I do upfrot medical, if yes, what's the advantage/disadvantage? I had deferred my admission from October 2017 to Febraury 2018 before of the slight delay in CAQ approval. Do you think February will be a good time to visit Canada considering the tough temperature during winter?

I kook forward to your response.

Darealman1

Well, the first red flag I noticed is you are retiring at 40+ to float a consulting firm and then it is your in law sponsoring your studies (doesn't add up).

Secondly you are at the verge of starting a business and you want to spend so much on studies/skills you could easily acquire in your home country.

These are just my observations I feel you should look into as they may arise when the VO is reviewing your application.

If the purpose of this your study is truly just to migrate to Canada...Try the Express Entry route...you stand better chances through that!

Lastly, the weather should be the least of your worries. Once you can get your visa. Everything else you can easily adapt to!

That's exactly my position.

Why sponsor trips to London so as to take pix with Bihari as a proof he is healthy...

if he has recovered let him come back.
I don't understand the way this people think.

They don't even think at all...don't bother!

Oga keep quiet!

No one is hating on his recovery

If he has recovered...he should come back and shut people up with his presence.

If not, he should shift to the side and allow Nigeria to move on without him!

His absence is dragging Nigeria backward and that is what is irritating everyone.

All these politicians should stop saying nonsense that will cause hatred among different groups of Nigerians.

Life is not a destination, it's a journey. At some point in the journey you gonna come to your senses and realize that there is no place like home. Please go make money in Canada and come back home and enjoy it. You will never be able to enjoy it Canada because they system will sap every ounce of blood from you and nobody gives a damn about you. To the contrary you will be very well respected if you come back home, surrounded by family and great community life. The government of Nigeria would be only an afterthought to you.

The zeal to travel to Canada or out of Nigeria is always high especially when one has never gone before.

But once they step their foot out there, see and do all you always dreamed off...the urge to come back home immediately arises!

So leave all these people that claim they will never come back, Life will definitely happen and they will be among the first running back to Nigeria.

No matter how useless our leaders and APC have decided to become! There is no place like home! I wont lie to anyone!

Every Nigerian abroad prays for the day the country can get a bit better so that they can come back! If anyone doubts me, confirm when you reach Canada! wink

hello house need help. I have registered nurse certificate (RN) from one of the school of nursing, licensed and practising with one of the tertiary hospital. I intend to migrate to Canada to obtain degree either in nursing(Rn-Bnsc) or any related health course but I don't know which university or college that will consider me for admission.i have made plans for ielts exam.am 27 and my weac is 2 sitting 07/08.please what is my chances, someone please direct me on how to go about it? @Canadiannurse please

Search for schools that offer health related courses on google. Read their course requirements and program outcome and narrow down to the one that best fits your career goals. Don't start registering for ielts when it might not even be a requirement at the end.

Lastly, I don't think admission to Bnsc will be directly possible. Justthinking...do the research!

Like I said, there is no charge for police clearance certificate. It's when I started following this thread that I started seeing people dropping prices and numbers. I had to go back to ask their CP and he said and I quote " any officer that collects money for police clearance is collecting it in he's pocket" NPF doesn't charge.

This is just for your information oh.

Cheers

Well, there might truly not be any charge for it but will the CP come and do it for free for all of us! If we walk into a police station and they refuse to do it for us because we didn't drop...we are only doing ourselves and wasting our time! Even tint permit is now free but which police station will issue it free to you!!

So welcome to Nigeria...where we have to pay people to do their jobs!
