Gerrard59: You should have stated that it was a language school. Yes, language schools need full payment. No installments Thanks for your response |

Gerrard59: They should have asked for bank statements to verify if you can afford the living expenses for the entire MSc program. For instead, present statements to support your living expenses for two years.
Tuition fees at most universities, especially the national ones, are paid per semester. Two semesters in one year. My time, I paid the admission fee (which is similar to acceptance fee in Nigerian parlance) and the first semester tuition fees of the first year. One year tuition fees is divided into two semesters. As of then, most national universities had the rough equivalent of $5K per annum. So, students will pay $2500 per semester.
You have to read the school's tuition fees payment policy on its website. Every school outlines how much is required and when to pay. Yeah, I read their policy, which includes a refund policy. However, it doesn't specify how much needs to be paid before the COE is issued. They only stated their process, which involves sending the required documents, then they will confirm if it meets their requirements, pay program fees, and then they'll apply for COE. But according to their FAQ, the one-year fees must be paid in advance. They don't accept installments. |

blackbriar: That"s most likely the reason why. People get into language school, and upon landing , jump out of their programmes. To curb such visa violations, I guess the govt. invoked those new requirements.
It has been mentioned here severally, graduate school or undergraduate school is a much cheaper and better route compared to language school.
Also @gerrard59 alos gave you more insights to your question. Can I dm you? They look legit but I want to be sure lol. Their program isn't that high. For 1 year program is 5k then 2 years it's 10k |

Is it a language school? Yes, it's language school |

Gerrard59: Then it should be a new policy as the government earlier this year revamped the requirements for operating language schools. So, that could be the reason. Thank you for your response. Please, is it normal for a school to ask for full payment of tuition whether 1 year program or two years, you will pay all at once before they apply for COE? And they didn't ask for bank statement |

Gerrard59: Except the German visa policy of Category A for scholarship abd first class students and Category B for everyone else has changed, I recommend Japan. The snag is your age, since you want to opt for language school (a great path). If you see a language school that agrees to admit you, choose Japan. The visa is less of a problem once the COE is obtained by the school and sent to you the applicant. Can I send a Dm you? Maybe on WhatsApp? For Germany I'm working towards scholarship |

Gerrard59: The one that offers you a COE is what gets you the visa. Language schools prefer younger applicants, say 18-25. Graduate schools are more liberal about the age of the applicant.
Yes. Part time jobs can be obtained pretty easy without language proficiency. However, permanent jobs are hard to get without knowing the language.
This requirement is mostly given to citizens of countries where there is no Japanese language school. Additionally, it's given to older applicants, say those above 30 years old. To beat this, target language schools in areas with low population, especially Southern and Northern Japan. Fukuoka and Hokkaido areas. These ones want money, so they won't have strict admission requirements. It's like all schools require the 150 hours study lol. It's listed on the requirements to submit. I have checked some in fukuoka, and I'm still checking |

I was contemplating to go to Germany for masters in pharmaceutical or Japan through language course first then masters later. I guess Japan is better since it's easy to get part time job without the language and also longer working hours |

Gerrard59: Please ask your questions here. I cannot access my Nairaland linked email address.
cc: donoso & chime11 Oh thank you. My question is about if one can easily get visa using a language or masters program. Which one is easier? Also, in terms of work and study in Japan can one be able to find part time job easily without knowing the language? Lastly, can one get admission into some language schools without the 150 hours study time |

Graceabby: Hello guys, I am here to rant. please is there anyone here who applied for Vienna RP in October? I have been waiting for more than a month with no response from them, meanwhile people who submitted after me, those that submitted two weeks ago also already got approved and this is only getting me more worried because I initially thought mine wouldn't also take this long especially when I arranged all my documents and ensured not to leave any room for questions or delay but here I am, waiting endlessly with no idea what's going on or when they will even attend to me. I have sent them emails and all I get is a copy and paste mail that my application is still in process. Is the anyone here in this situation as well? I just never thought I will find myself in this situation at all considering everyone i knew got approved pretty fast but I have also heard about people who got approved really late and it used to be so scary to me, unfortunately I am now experiencing the same thing. Please anyone with ideas or encouragement (even though that's all I have been getting from people) Admin please add me to Austria what'sapp group. +639060781201 |

jendy36: True. Schools reply emails. Since I moved in here, I’ve been in touch with some schools too. The only challenge you will get is getting an English representative for the school, but you will definitely get. To say they don’t reply emails is weird. Actually, the guy might be right. Some schools in South East Asians are like that they don't reply to emails unless you are in the country most times to gain an admission to their schools you will need a student in the school or country. Am saying based on experience in Philippines because some other paper work is needed not just admission letter if you want it to be valid. Try messaging directly through their official fb pages it's faster there, note experience with Philippines |
