Yes, but I hate the way Nigerians over there are scamming us all in the name of processing admission for us. One guy on nairaland here scammed me.
By the time you all start reaping what you are doing you will think it's more than that. I am sorry for all of you on that Phillipines scamming thread that you call a thread.
Sorry about that but next time address it to the right person

True. Schools reply emails. Since I moved in here, I’ve been in touch with some schools too. The only challenge you will get is getting an English representative for the school, but you will definitely get. To say they don’t reply emails is weird.

Actually, the guy might be right. Some schools in South East Asians are like that they don't reply to emails unless you are in the country most times to gain an admission to their schools you will need a student in the school or country. Am saying based on experience in Philippines because some other paper work is needed not just admission letter if you want it to be valid. Try messaging directly through their official fb pages it's faster there, note experience with Philippines

Wow!!!

Is this an indicator that the country is underdeveloped?

I'm confused, I want quality education sir
Go to United States, Canada etc you know them.
I told you the cheapest you can get and it's an estimate which can be little higher even. It doesn't mean there are no schools at 500k naira and more per semester. If I listed the expensive ones for you can you afford it? You will run away and say it's expensive

myright:
A return ticket flight to the Philippines: 500k
Feeding per month: 50k
Housing per month: 30k
Tuition fee per session: 500k (non medical courses)
To convert your three months tourist visa to a student visa: 80k
As an international student, you MUST pay a non refundable fee of 150k apart from your tuition fee

Brethren, be guided.

N.B: YOU CAN'T WORK WHILE STUDYING. NOT EVEN LABOURER WORK
No na philippines is not that expensive. What are you eating in a month ?? It depends on individual. The tuition fee depends on school

im in ireland now brutha working as a nurse. i was once a student in philippines. finished nursing in lorma colleges, san fernando city, la union, philippines. life is very difficult in philippines as a student if you have no well to do sponsor. in my case, i experienced financial struggles, going to school with empty stomach at times then. after graduating, i went home and did my nurse registration in nigeria and work for 2 years before i applied here in ireland and landed a good paying job. the good thing is philippine nursing degree is recognised all around the world.
Ah we went to same school lol, Lorma college for Nigerians . The thing is philippines wants to take from you only and you will spend daily, they will see you as a rich kid studying in their country. Philippines has it's advantages and disadvantages and some make it here, very few luckly work in call center that pays well but it's hard to get only very few Nigerians were lucky to get that I know some Nigerians but if you can speak french, you will have more opportunities and pay. It's not easy sincerely speaking if you don't have a good sponsor with money it will be difficult for you here to survive

If you want I can hook you up to forums of English teachers in Cambodia, before you say something isn't true perhaps it might help to have traveled to those countries. Many Asean countries are employing English and Chinese teachers in numbers. Having worked in Manila and many other cities in South East Asia I can tell you to each his own... I guess it depends on individual perception and experience of what hospitable is... Also if you don't know you actually need a teaching certificate to be employed as a teacher (i.e a English training certificate), and most will require I.E.L.T.S, TOFEL e.t.c. I got to work in Thailand with just T.O.E.I.C which is not even that acknowledged by countries in the same region. So please before you direct people, do your research or at least have some experience.
No be fight o, I said my own opinion because am in Philippines and this group is for people interested in Philippines. Nobody knows it all, we learn everyday. Will the certificate only be needed to get a working visa or work without a work visa that's part time? Am just asking thou

In Asia, Thailand, Vietnam, Korea, and Cambodia are better options cos you do at least have the chance to land a decent teaching gig that will keep you afloat for a while. Coupled with a low cost of living you will be better off than going to Philippines where you will be jostling with locals for such opportunities, also socially filipinos aren't exactly known for their acceptance of Africans. Just my 2 cents.
This is not totally true, Cambodia? Lolzz. Those countries don't speak English as compared to Philippines that speaks and understand a little so no teaching job here unless you speak French or others. Filipinos are most hospitable in Asia Google it. In recent time, I think the minimum to teach English in those countries being an African is that you would have a degree or equivalent, although you might be lucky if you don't have but the chances are slim. In all if you know which is good for you, go for it everyone has different grace and abilities. If you want to come to Philippines for study please have a sponsor who you can call upon when it gets difficult and the cost of living is affordable in Philippines. Research well, think and choose. Good luck

The time is now, are you interested in studying in Philippines or coming to Philippines on a student visa? There is an opportunity now, Commission on Higher Education Philippines (ched) has announced that some list of schools in Philippines are allowed to admits students online and students can have their classes online for now during the recent out break of Corona virus. Which means that after the outbreak students can go and apply for students visa to finish up their students in the Philippines when the health crisis is over, making you as an already enrolled student easily to have a visa than those who are not yet enrolled but Note it doesnt mean100% that visa will be granted it still depends on the visa consulates in nigeria but better chances than those who just have admission letters. I advice interested students to use this opportunity
