The Federal Government has urged the Community Court of the Economic Community of West African States sitting in Abuja to dismiss a fundamental human rights enforcement suit filed by the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.

It stated that Kanu having been granted bail and allegedly escaped from his ongoing trial before the Federal High Court in Abuja, the judgment of the ECOWAS Court on the suit would serve no purpose.

Operatives of the Zonal Intervention Squad, Abeokuta, Ogun State, have arrested a three-man syndicate for allegedly robbing passengers in the Itori area of the state, according to a report by Punch.

The suspects identified as Seun Ademosu, Segun Akinde and Kayode Sokunbi, usually drove around the community, looking for their victims.

Mr Yusuf Olaniyonu, a Special Adviser to the President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki has said that the senator had violated no law as it regards to assets declaration in Nigeria.

According to a report by The Punch, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday traced N860m to the immediate past governor of Kogi State, Idris Wada; and a former acting governor of Taraba State, Sani Danladi.

While N500m was traced to Wada, N450m was traced to Danladi.

A devoted mum who struggled to sleep at night accidentally killed herself with a lethal cocktail of prescription tablets, an inquest heard.

According to Sun UK, the woman identified as Katrina Glynn, 34, was found dead on her couch at her Bolton home in August, after she suffered from bouts of anxiety and sleeplessness, as her partner worked away.

Deepti Regmi, an 11-year-old girl from Nepal, spontaneously developed a peculiar ability last year. She is, inexplicably, able to smell colors, and can supposedly even identify them while blindfolded.

The police in Enugu State have arrested a man who allegedly stabbed a commercial s*x worker to death on Sunday, following a disagreement he had with the woman.

A gunman who reportedly held two employees hostage at a central England bowling alley was arrested Sunday night after armed police moved in according to the Associated Press.



He was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital for treatment. The two workers held for roughly four hours were released unharmed, police and ambulance officials said.

A Senate panel yesterday said N140billion has been recovered as a result of its probe on the N30trillion revenue leakages between 2006 and 2016, according to Dailytrust.



The panel said the fund has been remitted to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The revelation followed consideration of an interim report of the joint committee on Customs, Excise and Tariff and Marine Transport chaired by Senator Hope Uzodinma (PDP, Imo). Presenting the report, Senate said N128bn has been paid to the CBN by commercial banks involved in the revenue leakages.

Soldiers and police launched teargas to prevent the latest anti-government protest. Protesters also erected makeshift barricades and blocked roads in Togo’s two main cities on Wednesday as they continue to protest against President Gnassingbe.
