Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by chinwe12: 3:33am On Jun 12, 2021
Hi guys! I'm a green card holder in the states. My 7yrs old daughter is in Nigeria and I applied for an immigrant visa for her. But while its still pending, I want her to come visit me. However, I also invited my grandma to visit and her interview is on October. I am contemplating on adding my daughter to my grandma's application. Please do you guys think my daughter stands a chance of getting the visa? Should I include her in my grandma's application or should I file a separate ds-160 for her? Have anyone gone through this type of case before, how did you do it?

PS
I just want her to come visit for at least for 2 to 3 months and go back to Naija. I don't mind having her visit once every year until her immigrant visa is out. What is the best way to go about it and how do I convince the VO that she has no intent to stay?

Advice needed. No insults please.

Your daughter is F2A..pls file for her immediately. Right now F2A is current meaning for those who have filed and are documentarily ready interviews would be scheduled, so its no longer 2years...your daughter could be with you in a matter or months.
Its HIGHLY unlikely her visit visa would be approved. She does have immigrant intent...abi if she comes on holiday and refuses to leave you would you turn her back?
Its very rare that F2A is current Don't miss this window of opportunity. File ASAP.

Thanks a lot for your reply, do you suggest I cancel the interview and start the f2a application right away? And I just checked online and you are right, its current for F2A, I will cancel the interview and start this right away. Thanks a lot.

Hello all, I just filed form DS160 for my 5 years old daughter to come to US for the summer holiday her interview is on July and she will be back to naija by sept for school resumption, I am a lpr and want to file a ds260 for her and I know that will take some time so I want her to come for the summer holiday and return by sept, then after she returns to naija, at least I must have seen and spent some time with her then I will file form ds260 for her because I was told that once I file ds260 for her she won't be allowed to come visit, so once she returns to naija by Sept by God's grace I plan to file for her ds260 in Oct at least I will be satisfied that I have seen her before waiting 2 or more years for her immigrant visa to be processes please do you think shes gonna be considered as she would be going with her legal guardian and is she gonna be asked any question since she's five and is the legal guardian gonna be asked questions too. Since I'm sponsoring her from the US what document will be required of me? Thanks.

Anyone can easily deduce one thing about you - You seem VERY bitter about the USA, and especially anyone that's doing well in the USA. What has the US done to you?

And people back in Nigeria are not building mansions and blocks of flats? back to the topic how much do you think someone doing two menial job in the US. will be able to save in a month? Let's start from there so you understand the reality

oga those people building their houses in Nigeria abi them be those millionaires you dey quote since, how many Nigeria youths between 25 to 40 years are building those block houses except the yahoo yahoo guys, but a hard working naija guy in US can do that even if they are earning 2500 to 3000 dollars a month they can achieve a lot more with that when they have the right mindset even if they live in a shared apartment in the US, most of the house owners I see here are middle aged people that have worked their butts off in civil service and then have managed to build a duplex or 2 and others are the rich politicians but how many youths are doing that here in Nigeria where you see work sef talk less of money to build

Menial job build three duplex? Keep deceiving yourself. No menial job in the US. can even afford to rent one bedroom. You need to calm down your nerves and do some serious research.

again take sentiments out and be realistic in fact deep down in ur heart you know the truth, again its better to live in a shared apartment in the US while you build your own house here in Nigeria than to live in a condo in US and have no investment or establishment to show for it, maybe that is how the few people you know about in the US lived, they squandered their money on expensive apartments and babes and others and came back empty handed while there are other Nigerians who go there for a reason, which is to make money and come back to Nigeria to invest and make better live for themselves and their family

oga am talking abt building duplexes here in Nigeria with the money they make from US maybe those relatives of yours couldn't achieve anything after spending years in the US, I know 2 or more people that work 2 to 3 shifts in the US you may say they are tiring themselves out by working 2 to 3 shifts but they are way better than the unemployed Nigerian youth that have no job at all, they work hard, send their money home for investments and I know of 1 that has a 3 storey building with 3 bedrooms and 2 bedroom flats that the bankers in Nigeria are paying not less than half a million to rent per year, he also has a duplex in his village as well as the little car business he does, he buys cheap and used cars from US, sends them to naija and he sells it to the millionaire Nigerians, mind you he earns his money in a legal way, the keyword once again is proper planning, perseverance, hard work etc

sorry dude. It will take a Nigerian doing menial job in the US. twenty years to be able to complete a duplex. Unless they are involved in shady deals it is impossible. Even middle class Americans who make $57,000 annually cant save a thousand dollars monthly. When you get to America the hidden truth will ne revealed to you

oga abeg get ur facts straight before coming here to misinform people, maybe u have relatives that stayed 20years in US before completing a duplex, there are also people who earn money with legal menial jobs that have up to 3 duplex, don't misinform intending migrants because of an obvious grudge you hold against america. please tell me what is it that America did to you that made you to be so bitter towards it? the keyword here is perseverance, hard work etc maybe those relatives of urs just went there to waste their time and ended up with nothing, don't misquote me America is not the ultimate but don't go about badmouthing people who are working hard there and making a living way more than you

Hello vo I'm scheduled to have my interview on January and was wondering if my visa could be sent to the DHS office in porthacourt as stated on the website, if it could be sent to porthacourt then are there chances for the visa to be lost during transit because a friend of mine told me that the chances of the visa to be lost during transit from Lagos to porthacourt is high so I want to verify how true this is.
Thanks for the great work you are doing here

Good afternoon,

It is possible to have family interviews scheduled together, but you will have to go through NVC to request that the other petitions be expedited so that the interviews can be combined. This may or may not be approved.

IR2 applicants may not bring derivatives on their visa. Additionally, grandparents may not file for grandchildren. You may wish to consider this as you go through the process.

I hope this is helpful.

Regards,
VO

hello vo im an IR2 visa category applicant along with my siblings, my dad has filled and submitted all documents required and currently NVC completely reviewed my brothers case and called him for an interview and nothing has been done abt my own and my sisters own, can we call nvc to tell them abt this as the visa is family based and we are supposed to go for interview together as IR2 applicants so that they will review our own case and also fix an interview date for us, is it also possible for them give us interview dates the same as my brother's so we will go together, finally as a single mom, can i go to interview with my 3 years old daughter who is not part of the visa petition, can she be granted interview as well and also granted a visa.

hello VO, a wonderful day to you, pls my question goes like this. we submitted all our documents to NVC but not in one package as they specified it should be and they have not yet acknowledged receipt of our documents, can we go ahead to resend the documents again in one package, or will it pose any threat to our visa journey? should I call NVC to find out if they have received the documents or should I wait for them to acknowledge receipt of the documents on their own?

The immigrant visa correspondence unit will contact her if we require further information. Unfortunately, there is no timetable on the decision, though your mother is welcome to request an update after 60 days.
ok thanks an email was sent to her requesting for an affidavit of support and financial evidence as well as her passport. I pray they issue her visa after receiving the requested documents.
finally they gave her an address to submit her documents so can she submit it to the address through DHL or can someone help her submit it at the specified address if she is indisposed to do so by herself

hello VO, my mom went for her immigrant visa interview today 29th Nov and she was refused visa and was given 221(g) and was told to give them 60 days to make a decision on her case, her passport was not taken from her, she is with her passport. as of today her case status was updated and placed in administrative processing, are there chances of her been granted visa after 60 days, they said they will contact her if more document is needed, is there still hope for her? she's a cr1 applicant
