emybaby2: Plz that one is a big lie. When i registered for the lottery, i registered alone but when the result came out and i won, i called the kccdv at kentucky and they said i can include my husband provided i bring a proof of my marriage during the interview. I send the forms to them eventhough i made lots of mistakes and resend it 3 times. They still took it. The 2NL came with my husband as the beneficiary. If the man had not send his form yet to kcc or he send it before and the 2NL is not given to him, let him resend it with the name of his wife and children. Goodluck to him. Hello Emmybabe, Have u gone for your interview with this ur experience and came out with success story?. I asked this cos the kcc you called may not know that your marriage had been existing before the application. So if u did succeed in urs then its also good for the man to do his. My own advice is that he should include all his family member in as much as he is yet to send the form to KCC cos even if he decide to go alone,he may not succeed cos the prayer of the wife might work against him cos he did the trickish mistake and that will definitely reduce the trust of the wife and if eventually he ignore the wife and proceed, who knows, the wife may write to the DOS. My opinion shaa! |

Opoki: thanks brother. I've been having a sleepless night for days, my wifey stood on her feet, she said is either we all go together or no one leaves. I knew it requires alot of money but it was so embarassing to think i'm running away from the responsibility. Do u have you 2NL already?. If yes without beneficiary, I suggest you go to the embassy alone because they made your single visa available before scheduling your interview.that means if you appear With anyone be it wife or whatever, u will just loose the opportunity. But if u have no 2NL, they can be included. There is nothing on earth an agent or even the US senator can tell you outside this that will be fruitful. Try to explain to your wife if you have already gotten your 2NL and what's your CN if I may ask? |

To work legally the employer have to fill out I-9 and you have to show 2 forms of ID. That means I must be in the state before applying for the job cos I know that my GC and SSN will be ready in less than one month after I arrive US.thanks alot |

My wish is that all those waiting for their 2NL shall received it in Jesus name, AMEN! But at the same time I'll also advise that u guys should be praying cos the COs in Lagos had been more generous this year than other years to the DV applicants and as we all knows that there is percentage of visa that must not be exceeded in every country in as much as this program is concern. I will also let you guys know that the kind difficulty the first set of people encountered during their interview may not be same with the set that will go for their interview when the number of available visa is diminishing. So let all that are waiting for the 2NL or their interview be adequately prepared cos any little mistake can lead to denial but it won't be the portion of any member of this forum IJN, amen. This and other forums has made more visas to be issued out already cos they helped in educating people on the DOs and DONTs of DV interview. Be prepared and be courageous as well. Goodluck all. |

adesojiaderemi@: MA is awesome in non-winter months. The other seasons are quite beautiful here. There's lots to do, parks are beautiful, lots of museums to see and history to check out. When winter hits, it's a different story for me. I don't feel like getting out in freezing temps and I end up spending a lot of time inside. If you are looking to move up here and you were born and raised in warm weather like me, I rec you come up for a visit for a few days during winter before making your decision to move, the average rent is over $1,000 for just a one bedroom apartment. Utilities are not bad but its best if you can find a rental that includes heat and hot water. That will help. Boston is a great walking town. Which city do u leave in MA? Boston or where Minimum wage in MA is $8/hr, unemployment rate is 6.6 percent which is better everything about MA is awesome except for the freezing cold. |

axponline: I have read this type of thread many times in the past without commenting. Here are the points to note
Many Nigerians come to the US after between the ages of 25-35 and some even in thier 40's. For these folks, its like life is starting all over again. America is about careful planning. The system is built on careful planning and the concept of you get what you have earned. I used to work in Nigeria in a bank where you would get your housing allowance in Jan as a lump sum. You can never get that kind of cash in the US unless a) you borrow b) you steal c) win the lottery
Carefully plan each dollar making sure you save at least 20cents on each dollar and when the hard time comes (and they will come) you have a fall back position. If you anticipate a major expense coming up, plan for it. (i.e save) I appreciate the fact the America has gotten harder in the past few years. The jobs available are often high skill jobs in IT and health care etc. The usual low skill service jobs that many of our folks get stuck with are getting few abd far between. The idea is to continually improve your self and the jobs will look for you. I can readily testify to that. By the grace of God, I have a job where I work from home. I dont leave my house unless I want to. I get paid more than a US senator. I have excellent health care benefits paid for by my employer. I have plentiful savings. My wife has never worked for 1 day since we came to the US. I once started a business and ran up $80k in debt. I paid off the debt all from my salary. And I know many Nigerians here in the neighbourhood that I live that can tell the same story.
I strongly beleive God can bless you wherever you are. If God has brought you to America, utilize the opportunity (and it is a good opportunity) to the fullest and STOP comparing yourself to your mates back home. It is 2 completely different worlds and systems.
he willprovide I absolutely subscribes and believe in your ideology. We all know that there is nowhere in the world u can rake money in the street be it Nigeria or USA but with careful planning and upgrading one can fit in to something reasonable. I love your post sir and would like to know the nature of your job as you said that you work from home because I will like such job as I will be jetting out to USA with my wife next february. I strongly beleive God can bless you wherever you are. If God has brought you to America, utilize the opportunity (and it is a good opportunity) to the fullest and STOP comparing yourself to your mates back home. It is 2 completely different worlds and systems
. I absolutely subscribes and believe in your ideology. We won DVlottery and we both have our Bsc in Economics but will like to further our study there and I believe that with your type of job by God's grace, we won't find it difficult to school there. Thanks in anticipation that u'll educate me more. My email address is chirpywest@live.co.uk. Plz email me.
