junkerhill: throwing a party is welcomed idea. For u guys that are successful, another forum has to be opend on nairaland where contacts can be shared, for onward meeting @ the states. On the mEeting, it will then be decided on where and when the party (thankgiving) for the DV winners, both past years and coming year. My opinion. All of you in this forum will be succeesful IJN, the party won't come until you all of u get ur visa and enter the state. I call u guys SUCCEES redefined! In as much as God granted my visa through the window 16, He will do for all of u here IJN, amen. Its not all about perfection, its all about adequate preparation and divine favour.Goodluck to you all |

junkerhill: My ppl, I want you all to join me in thanking God who by His wisdom made me a member of this forum. Ever since I joined this forum, my eyes have been opened to lots of things that I tot that never mattered, to things I have been taking for granted and since then I hav been asking myself this questions:- What would i had known if not info from this forum? Whom would I hav asked if not members this forum? Who could hav helped me if not members of this forum? How would I had known the nature of the interview( the questions asked) if not from the members of this forum? Finally, how could I had met such a wonderful person like you that is filled with love, compassion and interest to always help others if not on this forum? There are many other winners in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and other countries who are not even aware of a forum like this. But I was made to be a member, upon all my disobedience, my sinfullness, my atrocities, God still sent som1(chirpwest) to introduce me to this wonderful forum. I thank God and want Him to know that my heart is filled with gratitude for what He has done and what He is yet to do. I also thank Him for wonderful ppl lik u on this forum, that He kip all of us together wit love and also make all of our joy to be complete. That as you have helped others, so shall you be helped when u are in dire need of somthing. May life abound in us and may our expectations never never be cut short. In Jesus name. Now interview have been schedule but I have not gotten my ND certifcate. Plus I have a reference meaning that my certificate will not be ready anytime soon. And I have been schedule for interview already. ............ Please house, what can I do or what should I get to show to the CO on the day of my interview? Do you think a letter of introduction or any documemt from my school will suffice? Just calm down cos I had same issue with yours, just go and get an official letter with the departmental letterheaded paper from the HOD of the department you graduated from. The letter should be addressed to the consular general, US embassy lagos with their address. Letter of identification I dentifying u as the formal student, telling them that u've done all ur course works, defended your project and that your certificate will soon be ready for collection. That they should accord you all the necessary assistance. Shikina. That's exactly how mine was written and it served as my degree in Economics from UNIZIK.the HOD must sign with his offical stamp and date. And u are good to go. |

emybaby2: Hurray, i've been given my visa today, am so happy. I woke up early and arrived the place and we were checked in by 6:30am. Passed through the security check and got in. We did the documentation i.e gave my original and photocopied documents. I forgot to include 2 photocopied marriage certificate rather it was one and they wrote it down in my form that one certificate is out. That was the only error i made though i was nervous. Then we waited again. When it was time for the interview, window 16 who is a white lady was so tough with so much drilling of people with questions. The first couple for DV there were rejected by her. Up to 5 people went and she either refer them for the next day or told them that they have failed. A particular woman with a family of 5 children and her husband were denied their DV visa. What i come to know is that if you can't answer or defend your education and also know dates of birth, time you went to school etc, then there will be problems. The woman in window 13 was so nice and was handing down visas like water only denied one man. Who wasn't a DV applicant. After praying that i should not pass through the white woman, believing God for window 13 when i was called to window 16(the white woman.) CO: Goodmorning, put your fingers on this (After fingerprint, myself and husband, she told my husband to go and sit.) co: when did you finish secondary school?(i told here and she count the credits in my paper) co: what was your favourite subject in secondary school me: English co: give me details of what you learned in English literature( i explained) co: you are a registered nurse, give me the details of your nursing practise(i did) co:if a patient is sick, how do you manage the patient(i explained) co: let me see your wedding photos(i flipped open the album for her and she saw the pictures of my bridesmaid and stoped to ask who they were) co: where did you meet your husband me: in the church co: which church did you marry(told her) co: when did you marry(told her) co: did you go to church last week me: yes i did co: i will give you a visa and you will get it next week thursday. Me: thank you. That is how i scaled through the woman, looking her straight in the face and God helped me. Pls i like the black woman of window 13, she gave time to people who are nervous to think. Above all this, all glory belong to my GOD. Congrats to u and ur hubby, I and my wife also was interviewed by that lady. The only thing is that the woman is a psychologist and keep an eye contact with her. She also did grant my visa back in november.this is the goodnews we are expecting from everyone here in this year 2013 in jesus name;Amen |

Health IT 9-Week Certificate Program Overview of Health Information Technology and Health Information Exchange Certificate Program:
Nine-week, full-time program offered three times per year (January, June, and September). Designed to “fast track” university graduates into Health IT employment Recognition and support from and collaboration with pioneers in the e-health industry, healthcare providers and government Expert faculty in both theoretical and applied areas of Health IT. 180 hours of course content in healthcare policy, economics, electronic health records, health information exchange, project management, workflow and process redesign, quality improvement, and the business of medicine. Real-world practicum experience with vendors, consultants and healthcare providers Professional development and job placement services, including help with resumes, interview skills, and events that connect students with Health IT executives and hiring managers. Certificate program is first in the nation to: deliver hands-on learning with multiple electronic health record systems side-by-side in a one-of-a kind Health IT Learning Center provide a health information exchange laboratory (HIE) for students to gain hands-on experience with healthcare data interoperability in a simulated environment graduate students from an ONC-funded university based training program! On average, 92% of program graduates seeking Health IT jobs have found employment with more than 40 organizations in Texas and nationwide Recognition and affirmation from Dr. Farzad Mostashari, National Coordinator, Health Information Technology, and Dr. David Blumenthal, former National Coordinator, Health Information Technology, United States Health and Human Service
“The EHR Learning Lab itself was extraordinary.” A.C.
“It was incredible to have the chance to work with six systems—in all likelihood, no matter which area of the industry I enter into, that knowledge will be an incredible tool.” M.D.
Intensive contact with the Health IT business community is facilitated throughout the program by the inclusion of expert speakers from government and industry.
“I felt privileged to have multiple guest speakers address us from various viewpoints, such as a community health perspective, public policy approach, and global research agenda.” N.F.
“One part of the program that absolutely should not go unnoticed is the quality of the guest speakers that we were fortunate enough to have.” E.H.
“Another facet to the program was various guest speakers from the healthcare and HIT industry. They brought different perspectives and helped tie in topics that I had been reading in journal articles. I will never forget Dr. Deborah Peel and her discussion on patient privacy rights. She exuded passion, dedication, and a thorough understanding of her work. I feel very lucky that knowledgeable speakers were a part of this program.” V.R.
Students in the program are placed into two-week practica in major cities in Texas and around the nation with vendors, consultants, healthcare providers and government. Click here for a list of practicum hosts.
"The final 3 weeks of the program I was assigned to e-MDs for my practicum experience. This is the portion of the program that really got me excited to be involved. I shadowed a support team called the A-team for one week, the implementation project manager team for a week and the onsite chart training team for a week… All in all, the experience with e-MDs was wonderful and got me very excited about my future in HIT, especially since I found that practically everything I learned in the classroom was relevant and applied at e-MDs." D.S.
"Our last class was the practicum where we had a specific internship. I was working in Austin with CTG, a consulting company. I was specifically working on the environmental scan analysis. I had no clue as to what that was going in and asked someone but they said "I don't know, but I'm sure you will know all about it when you're finished". After a week in I knew exactly what it was. I worked with Mr. Jim Campbell looking at the survey responses from several Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) in Texas. We analyzed all of the data received and made conclusions, drew trends, and supported them with charts and graphs. Our conclusions were presented at the Texas Health Services Authority board meeting which was really exciting to see! We were also working on finding more about e-prescribing in different pharmacies as well as public health. I used the terminology from our workflow class and used the combined knowledge of all of the classes to give me a basic understanding of what was going on. They treated us like junior analysts and gave us a lot of work to do, but it was all worth it." S.T.
Students
To help graduates who successfully complete the program find immediate employment in the field of Health IT, students are provided with career resources including workshops on resumes and cover letters, informational interviewing, and job interview preparation. A highlight of the program is the opportunity for students to carry out research projects focused on current topics in Health IT and to present their findings to industry experts in a poster format.
A total of 333 students (in six cohorts ) have graduated from the program since June 2010. Employment statistics for graduates seeking Health IT jobs averages 92%. The number of on-campus interviews facilitated for each cohort has grown over time, and students receive from 2-11 interviews. The average salary of program graduates is 52,000. Salaries accepted by graduates have ranged from $42,000 - >$100,000. Bros, I like this your post here. Its nice one. But apart from been legal migrant, what are the requirements for one to qualify for the financial Aid to be able to access this kind thing and what is the repayment mode like?. Its like this state of Texas is filled with mouth-watering opportunity.its in my mind serously now. |

adzovia: to answer everyone. i went to kotoka international airport to board the delta flight to Philadelphia. i had excess luggage cause my family in the states wanted a lot of fish and african wear. upon reaching the airport the airline said my bags was too heavy. the lady advised me to take one extra bag and put my things inside. after doing that i ended up paying for 2 extra bags which cause me $400. i believed that raised a red flag with them since i did not complain about the money so there was a white lady there who asked the security guys to check my bags. all my bags were opened the fish i parceled nicely so they wont smell were also opened and wrapped back. after all this i was asked to check in my bags and go through immigration. after i was done and i moved upstairs to board the flight, i was asked again to do drug test which i did by urinating in a cup for them. after that i was asked to board. i was annoyed and very disappointed cause i have never gone through such a search throughout my previous travels. anyway upon reaching JFK in New York which was my point of entry i went through customs and the brown envelope was taken from me. i must state that i met a guy in the room whose medicals had expired and he was threatened with deportation. please leave as soon as you get your visa. so my passport was stamped and my dv number was written on it. i took my connecting flight to Philadelphia and my folks picked me up to NEW JERSEY. because of all the troubles at the Ghanaian airport i was too tired so after unpacking and taking my bath i went straight to bed. anyway the weather is soo cold remember to bring warm clothings. You are welcome and plz try to give me update in the state of things in the New Jersey, both housing and employment opportunity. I will be glad cos my host is planning to pay for me in the state of New jersey but am considering Texas cos of high cost of living in New Jersey and the availability of Job there. |

I've been applying since 2002 but never won until I did my marriage in 2011 and the favour clicked.Believe me u must surely testify here if you make prayer your password in Jesus name , afterall ur selection was also miracle and favour plays 90% of all things in this journey. |
