Job zone is talking about ocupational shortage list. Once u've ur 5credit in ur WAEC, u are good to go. The job zone sometime or mainly can qualify u if u don't have a high school diploma but if u do and at the same time ur profession belongs to one of them, then its added advantage. For ur friend that is talking about authority not allowing u to return, just know that he is ignorant of what green card is all about. U are even more free to move around the world with green card than with only naija passport, the only thing is that u won't be out of the USA for more than 6months at ago. What visa are you travelling on? If the visa type is immigrant type or student, definitely not a visiting visa, then you can get a one way ticket. Try Emirates, Qatar and Turkey airlines for the lowest one way prices. Not all of them goes to Los Angeles, but I think one goes to Las Vegas.

Qatar doesn't go to Los Angeles.

For March 1st as an example, Turkish Airline swill get you to Los Angeles for $1,321.00. Emirates is not working for me right now.

Amtrak from New York is $342 and takes 3 days.

Now I'm absolutely a fan of rail travel but it's not for the faint of heart and especially if you're just landing in the US and also after a lengthy flight.

My opinion is to save the rail travel for vacation when you can truly enjoy the sights of the back country. Trains take you to places that you may never see again as most of it is unaccessible by any other mode of transportation.

I'm about 15 miles west of Ontario, used to live there actually so let me know if you have any other questions.

jejelady: Chirpy, try checking priceline for air fares from ny to California. It might be cheaper than any other means. Or go to Amtrak.com to check for train tickets. Virtuay not a lot of ppl travel by train for dat long since there r better deals for airfare

I googled united airline fare to ontario from lagos with return ticket and I discovered that its cheaper if am paying for the same return ticket from Ontario to lagos back to ontario. Can one buy as if he or she is coming to lagos from ontario and just use the return ticket to get there cos the price is$2kplus from lagos while its $1066 from ontario to lagos and back to ontario. People should not only view this topic but should please comment cos we need to know the rail system and network in the USA and how cos effective/efficient they are.this will go a very long way to save more cash in the pocket of new travellers/immigrants as sometimes, flight from lagos to california is twice the cost of lagos to New York. @ I hate naija, one thing I want u to understand here is automobile mechanics are in high demand all over the world. And the instruction stated clearly that its either u have high school diploma or u are trained in one of the occupational shortage list. Don't think or assume that the gurus in d house is doing bad job cos even if bipip surfaced here, the gurus couldn't have discouraged him. Remember he got his mechanics certificate and I also knew that they will ask him how long he learned the job. So avoid saying that the gurus will discourage him cos the guy was good to even meet the CO@window 16 its just that he was ignorant of what he possess.

Just walk into any branch of ur bank nearest to where u are staying and fill the form. But if d bank u did d withdrawal is d issueing bank. I advise u fill the form there 2moro but if its another bank, just find d nearest branch of ur bank and they will refund it in less than a week. It happened to me last week @ oyo state while my account was openned in d east. I was debited 40k but I got the refund alert yesternight. Don't worry and don't allow devil to steal ur joy cos ur miracle is assured!

On the 8th (thursday) I got an email from d consulate that he should come with photocopies of his documents to the embassy any day of the week besides friday. Bros, go with ur certificate if u have the original whether SSCE or GCE and don't bother urself about tesmonial. Just tell them the truth if they ask u. I used 2GCE original certificate without mayjune WAEC or testimonial and I have my visa intact though I have a degree in Economics

You can get NPC certificate from any state capital and remember its long form and not short form. So don't do it at NPC office in LGA headquaters but state capital.

If u have a reliable and trusted host in the US, let him do the booking for u there while u credit his account here. Let him or her buy u round trip ticket from MMA to ur city of destination and possible leave the return open if u plan to return soon. U will be suprise to see the difference. What it means bros is that they will receive their 2NL cos my CN became current in september 2012 and I was interviewed on 27th november and my visa was issued on the 30th nov same year. My 2NL was dated 20th septmember 2012. Its ur 2NL that will tell u when to go for interview

Such experience will enable them to know how harsh the COs in their country are and also to enable them know the strategies to use in answering questions.
