Being working in domestic airline that flies international does not make me Know all. we all are sharing ideas.

The easiest way to get cheap ticket is if you know someone in an international airline, They is a ticket called family and friend ticket. you can pay even 45k to any part in USA OR ANY WHERE, in some airline. u can pay less than 100k.. like femi comfirmed he paid less than 100K because he know someone in united airline

Another way is if u are in nigeria , and someone can book you ticket for you outside the country and pay here in naira @ the airline office in nigeria.

If u book through the united airline site here in naija, u will get 296000 as the cheapest price from LAGOS to ONTARIO, California but someone sent my friend a round trip ticket of d same united airline from USA, the same route and he was able to get it @$1066. Which is relatively cheaper than what's obtainable here.femsoj just confirmed that he paid less than 100k to get to houston with united while adesojeremi posted few days ago that he bought a round trip ticket from Virgin @$770. Or do u in anyway think that arik is more efficient than united or virgin atlantic airline. Go to their site here to book and u will see the difference.

Bros, if they won't interview u in naija then u got nothing to be afraid of. U are good to go with ur explanation. Don't be confused bro cos ur wife may not even get european visa but if u get ur 2NL and they said u will be interviewed in lagos, u let us know for more info. But u will need ur marriage certificate and possibly pictures to convince the CO but don't worry urself cos u will get the visa, just package urself well and be courageous. Ok

For those coming soon to US,try virgin airline, I paid $770 last week for round trips to Naija it is very cheap.

Is it virgin atlantic or virgin nigeria?.and from which city plz did u pay $770 dollars. I also discovered that its cheaper to come to naija and get back to state than going to state from nigeria. My friend told me that and I confirmed it from united airline going to ontario.California. Its almost $2k@plus if u are making round trip from naija while its $1066 if u are making round trip from Ontario. The guy told me that the cost is cos of the agent fees in naija which americans don't pay. Even if u are paying in the ofice at MMIA the agents will still have their cut.

I got to the embassy with my wife and my 24days old baby girl around 5:50am. We were called to line up @ 6:30am for security checks, the security too much here ooo my people...well, we have said prayers as if heaven wan fall. We got to the main building where interview takes place. I was given a number that would be called @ designated window though I firstly paid $990 for three of us. I was called @ window 13 to submit our documents and surprisingly; the lady gave me a warm smile when she saw the correspondence that I wrote to the KCC when I submitted my DS 230 form. I explained in the letter that my wife was pregnant and we could appear more than two during the interview I also included the shot of my wife during pregnancy She returned my letter and the picture and asked me to go back and wait for my number to be called for proper interview. Sorry for the story so far....I was called at window 16 where the white consular there just denied the first person that just left her window, yeeehhhh!!! the fear first catch me.

SHE DID NOT EVEN BORDER TO CALL MY WIFE AT ALL BECAUSE BY THAT TIME MY WIFE WAS SHIVERING ON HER SIT FOR THE LONG JOURNEY INTERVIEW. TO GOD BE THE GLORY I MADE IT.

MY ADVICE FOR THE REST OF PEOPLE IS THAT, YOU SHOULD HAVE COURAGE AND HAVE TRUST IN GOD. THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT DIFFICULT AS MANY PEOPLE DESCRIBED THEM WITH WHAT I WITNESSED.

THAT VISA BELONGS TO YOU, GO AND HAVE IT ITS YOUR RIGHT AND DO YOUR PAPERWORK VERY WELL OOOO. BIRTH CERT, O'LEVEL,MARRIAGE CERT IF MARRIED, MEDICALS, POLICE CERT, ID CARD IF YOURE ALREADY EMPLOYED ANY DOCUMENT THAT COULD HELP IN-CASE.

Tap into the wisdom of this forum and go for interview with ur wife even if she is not gonna move with u to the state. Anything short of that will be unfavourable and we the forumites won't even listen to ur sad story if u don't go with ur wife instead we will ask justwise to block your post. Plz we should always learn to obey the rule. Most of questions in dis forum shouldn't even arise if we carefully do follow written DV instructions but people will alwaz like to read the once they felt they need,jump the instructions and begin to ask all sort of questions here. Plz its mandatory that every member of ur family will appear before the CO on that day or else denial is innevitable.

Now here is my interview experience.
I arrived the embassey at 5:55am, waited outside till abt 6:30am before we were asked to queue up for the security checks and finally to the interview hall at about 7:15am.
waited with anticipation to see how this white lady at window 16 looks like, finally she came up and another gentle white man in window 15 and yet another at window 13. befor this, our numbers were called at different windows for submission of our documents by blacks, and my docs were collected at window 16, so i felt that was it, that i will be interviewed at that window, but to my surprise it was window 15 that later called my number.

plesae take note when going for your interview, go with someone who can take care of unwanted items, or go with a car where you can keep them. For nursing mothers you are not allowed to go in with baby food, please feed your baby ouside befor going inside, except for breast feeding.

Arik air one way ticket to new york JFK is 130k. Sometimes all these u pple's buying from airport is much more expensive that buying from agent that knows very well how to combine class.I have the experince from emirates. So u better beware cos if u book from their website its more expensive. I don't know why but that's my experience from my previous travel.

Man relax! But next time, tell exactly whom u are cos u stand more chances to go as an engineer than as o'level holder if u are the principal applicant whether practicing or not. They may not even ask of ur credential but that of ur wife but still go with them, they may just collect ur NPC certificate, marriage and police character certificate and ur wife's credentials. That was the case on my own. Good luck man.

When did u gain admission into poly?. U can still tell the CO that u are on a program @ poly unless u didn't indicate such in your form. So try to maintain exactly what u filled in ur form so it won't be a wahala. God will grant u ur heart desire in jesus name.
@all that are talking about hair stylist od dressing; if u got ur O'level or degree, hair dressing will become an added advantage but don't use it as if u qualified under labour section. Master the job cos they may ask questions from it. It doesn't need certificate here but over there it needs. But I will also advise people to stick with what they wrote in the form they sent to KCC.

My brother, u need not to fear or relax either! Cos faith is good but God has done his own part for u by making ur application to be among the few selected from 7milion+ that applied. So its left for you to fulfill your part. Just carefully read ur bible and u will understand dat all the promises of God ends or begins with"IF" HE promised to bless you "IF" u live according to his words. I will advise you study d form u sent to KCC well cos I believe that u have a copy of each form. What did u wrote as what u had been doing since 2008? And did u filled any work experience? IF u did filled that u are working in Abia state, then u are in oda by stating that u had been living there since ur 16yrs.carefully folow that form and u are ready to go remember u can be shuttling from abia to imo everyday if u like cos owerinta and ngo okpola are in abia and imo and neighbouring town even d CO don't know d distance. But stick to what u wrote in d forms and u are good to go.I hope my 1cent will be helpful.

There is nothing God can not do but be prayerful my brother so that God's favour shall go with u and ur family cos the cost is too high for one with large family to gamble with. My people 2 wks to my interview, i dont have any hope, but to my surprise, a wk to my interview, this man, Dr Akintade just came 2 Nigeria, about 22 yrs ago, we dont know the country where he dey, even his contacts, but we know dat he dey 4 outside country, though he related to my mother, 4rm my mother's family, we can't even remember him again, until he came back home in December, infact is like a miracle 2 everybody, we discuss alot of things together, his experience, challenges since he left home, i can't believe it, until i search 4 him & his hospital on internet & i even pray about it! My people na so God dey work o, i know dat, dis is hand work of God! The lord is Good!

Oh boy! Am afraid u didn't win anything. U are just here to create awareness. Why do u think that you are dealing with zombies here? Stop playing with people's intelligence. U never know that you had an uncle and bla bla bla!!! The greatest fool on earth is he that can fool himself. Stop all these your bragging and wake up to reality. If at all that u won, we never can tell if they issued or denied u visa or better still, u didn't meet up with finance to process ur DV cos as at 2wks to ur interview u didn't have US address and u never filled the address according to u. I don't see the possibility of u getting all these done in a wk including medical. Whomever is telling us that u might never know u had an uncle is just trying to stop this topic but to me u are a scammer! Get urself a life. That's my 2cent to u.

alutaa: For those that are interested, please, google 'EPIC'. EPIC is a software use for healthcare EMR (Electronic medical record).
Although i am not in that field, i know people that did the training (the training is still an in-house training meaning that only a company can send you for the training but, there are few Nigerians out there that are training people on the course) and all the people that i knew that did the training are really comfortable with their life now with a good job or contract job.

Another area that people can look into is IT QA area. Its a good starter area for new people in the State. Rates might not be all that great ($30 -$70) but its a good starting point. If you are in Michigan, i learnt that there was a Redeem church that organised training for people late last year. That can be a good starting point to start making enquiries

For those in Texas and environ, Safety engineering is another good area to focus on. I have a friend that came to the State 2 years ago and did certification in these area and he is doing very well now.

Another good area to focus on is IT. I started my IT career when i came to the State 2 years ago. What i always tell people is that if you can create a facebook account and Twitter account by yourself, you can do IT then. The Indians are not guru or more brilliant than we Nigerians. But the difference is that an Indian focus on IT (which is doing the same thing the same way everyday) while a typical Nigerian will become a Nurse or Nursing assistance immediately they moved to the State).

If you are interested in SAP (Business Intelligence and Business warehousing), let me know. I might be able to use my 2 years experince to guild you in the right way.

But, whatever certificate you are pursuing, its good to have a side job that can pay your bills at the same time. The goal is never to loose sight of your goal or allow the side job become your main focus in the State. Most of my friends and i entered USA at the same time and we all met at Warehouse where we all work as a laborer. But, the laboring job was not our main focus in life despite the job paying about $1700 per month.After working for 4-7 months, everyone of us got a better job in different fields. Unfortunately, there are people with citizenship or green card still working at the warehouse for more than 2+ years. Its not that i am better or we are better but its because we dont want to settle for less in the State.

What i am trying to convey is that we should never loose focus of our aim in the State. You will definitely meet people that will discourage you and tell you that US is a difficult country and that things are hard. Never you believe that.

The most important things is to talk and try to help as many people as possible. He that give will never lack in life.

Most people don't like to talk about their work in US. Personally, i believed that its only a small minded person that will behave this way. We are living in a fast paced information world. What you know today might be an outdated info tomorrow. How will you know the latest tech new or info if you dont talk about what you do or share information. You will definitely meet a lot of Nigerians like this. Just move on and leave them to their outdated ideas. When u are making your millions or six figures, they will be the one to seek you out asking and volunteering info for you.

Your advise is solid and superb! Plz is there any certification program in California that can pay up to 30USD per hour and what's the duration of the program. I like IT but don't know if my Economics background can be a good start for it. Educate me more plz

I left the house by 4:45am and arrived 5:20am. We observed all the necessary protocols and the checks and got ushered in. I purposely sat in such a away as to have a clear view of the white lady everyone dreads. I needed to inderstand her methods, temperament and ideology should in case I am sent to her.

She denied virtualy everyone who got to her desk. I realized it's not about the woman. It's about the applicants who come ill-prepared. She wants to be sure you TRULY MERIT the visa. Her question are not difficult but tricky and searching. From my interactions with her, I figured she must be a lawyer or someone with legal exposure. She asked me questions, more of a cross examination using legal terms known only to legal minds.

Now this is the secret to dealing with her. Learn forward and look her right in the eyes. That makes her uncomfortable and less composed. It's like turning the table against her. Answer her questions with CONFIDENCE even If you're not so sure of the answers. Maintain eye contact and be polite to a fault. Her approach could make you edgy and could provoke anger in her which always prompts her to deny without mercy. Keep a smiling face and raise your pitch when responding to her query. Use gestures too. All these played out to my favour. Above all, I realized she appreciates good command of English Language. But really, how can you claim to be a graduate and unable to make a sentence that's error-free? Let's polish our vocab.

Me: (Still smiling) Absolutely. I do.

To my surprise she began to lecture me on it. I chip in facts from time to time to buttress her points.

Me: Thank you maam! (With a broad smile)
Co: I am going to issue you a visa.

There were two sheets before her. One was for denial and the other for approval. She pulled the paper, circled an address and asked me to pick my visa on Friday next week. I enjoyed my time with her. I am sure she enjoyed my company. She's such a lovely Angel to chit-chat with.
