Cabaye, dont u think we ll be asked to commence in january? try and find out.

If the scholarship comes out next week as prophesied, then you not need to defer till January. Just ask the school to extend your resumption dates. All UK SCHOOLS have earliest start date and latest start date. Just upload award Letter and ask them to include the latest start date on ur CAN. Ciao

I am so happy for you. Welcome to the UK. I also got mine approved on Thursday and would be leaving toward the end of the month. Which school are you going to?

Yea VFS ikeja applied on the 26th
So how many days are we looking at school resumes 15th

2 days like they said. VFS don't waste time like teleperformance. So go check the third day. I will go check on mine on tuesday

bidibudi: Your application has been approved and the visa has been issued. We aim to return passports to the VAC within 2 working days. You can check the location of your passport at www.ukvac-ng.com.
I got this mail today
But the tracking still remains forwarded to the British commission

I got the same message 2 days ago. It is from the UK embassy directly, not from the application centre. The tracking that still remains forwarded to the British commission is from the application centre's website (I presume you used VFS Ikeja or Abuja). I presume it will change when they receive the passport back from the embassy. At least, that's what I am hoping for as we are in the same boat. smiley

lay86: am happy for you? am still expecting mine i also submitted my application on the 27th of August at teleperformance in V/I. should i be worried that i haven't been contacted yet. i hate the wait.

You need not worry. Teleperformance has a credibility for lateness and delay. For all we know, you visa might have been ready but they won't contact you until they get it back from the embassy. Just keep your fingers crossed and expect good news soon.

francini: @Chivitech pls how many times did your status message change from the initial one?

It never changed. As a matter of fact it still hasn't changed. I received an email directly from the UK embassy not from VFS. I am guessing it will change when VFS gets back the passport from the embassy.

@Mhoreh, no mind me joor. I am working on a paper that I want to publish in IEEE Journal, been busy.

To the house, I got an approval email from the embassy last night saying

"Your application has been approved and the visa has been issued. We aim to return passports to the VAC within 2 working days. You can check the location of your passport at www.ukvac-ng.com."

Thank you so much for the support, advise and help. I am eternally grateful. For those who want extra information, I submitted in Abuja on the 27th of August and got the approval on the 4th of September i.e. 5 working days.

profibadan: @Justwise thanks for all the wonderful works you and others are doing on this forum. Please I need your help. I got this message on Monday: "Your application has been approved and the visa has been issued. We aim to return passports to the VAC within 2 working days. You can check the location of your passport at www.ukvac-ng.com" I waited for the sms from VFS Ikeja to no avail, hence I sent a message to UKVI to know the status of my passport ebcause I intend to visit Ikeja for my passport only to get this message:
"Thank you for contacting the UK Visas and Immigration International Enquiry
Service.

We understand that you would like to know about the current status of your
visa application. I have tracked the status ( and date of birth
) and found that your application has not yet been assessed by an
Entry Clearance Officer (ECO).

Please be aware that a lack of updates on the system is simply part of the
process as there can be a delay (of 2-3) days) due to the many steps and
stages involved.

Your visa application centre or the entry clearance officer (ECO) will
contact you once a decision has been made or, if necessary, during the
consideration of your application. Please contact the VAC for further
instruction.

Though we try our best to complete the visa application process in 15
working days, each application is subject to an individual assessment and
processing times may vary, hence applicants are requested to be patient and
wait for the processing to be completed. You can check how long you'll have
to wait for a decision on your visa application in your country (if you
applied from outside the UK) by entering your details at the following
link: https://www.gov.uk/visa-processing-times. Please note that the actual
processing times may vary depending on a range of factors.

We have service level standards for processing UK visa applications. We
will process 90% of non-settlement applications within 3 weeks, 98% within
6 weeks and 100% within 12 weeks of the application (biometric taken) date;
and 95% of settlement applications within 12 weeks of the biometric taken
date and 100% within 24 weeks of the application (biometric taken) date.
Please note that we define 1 week as 5 working days.

For any further details, or should you need to contact us again please
refer to our website at https://ukvi-international.faq-help.com/, select
appropriate country, click next and then select 'E-Mail form' and complete
as instructed. We will aim to come back to you within 1 day.

Kind regards,

UK Visas and Immigration International Enquiry Service"

Am confused here, who do I believe? The message from Abuja or the one from UKVI (the second message) And is it possible for one to get an approval message from Abuja and still be denied a visa?

Believe the message from abuja. The second message is an automated message send to most peopl who sends an a message to that email address. no personnel has replied you yet. Go pick up your visa

I guess you are right because even south africa high commission only collects 200 application in a week; after that they would reject any other application till the next week. I guess same thing applies here but on a monthly basis. Guess they have fully booked the appointments for August. I am counting days ooo. VFS Abuja gimme my visa o. olorun o ni ba ti yin je o

I'm afraid you filled the wrong one. It ought to be under tier 4 (sponsorship) (General). Maybe you should start another application. A suggestion though. But I think some other people Like the Great JustWise would be having more suggestions.

Thank you, you were right. God bless you

Note that some applicants may get extra delays due to some issues with their application.

Ah Nawa ooo sad What of some of us that will be paying well over a £100/week for ensuite on-campus accomodation? I guess we can call it All day robbery(both day & night) cry

School is located in South east England(not far from London) so even off-campus accommodation isn't cheap. It is well.
angry

I feel you bro. Mine is even worse. its £530/month and it is not even ensuite. All the ensuite were gone before I applied for accommodation

justwise:

grin thanks anyway.

Now school accommodation......i'm not a fan but i will this....if money is not an issue then gr8! go for it, socially you will benefit, student experience is almost guaranteed (depend on if you are an introvert or extrovert)

If you are on budget then stay away, renting from private landlords saves you a lot and you are allowed to stay longer after your graduation as long as you keep paying your rent but with school accommodation you will be kicked out after graduation.

£85 a week for a single bedroom is daylight robbery, with that amount in private renting you will get double bedroom with all bills included and in a very clean area.

lol.. if you call £85 a week daylight robbery, what will you call £530 a month which is what i am going to be paying at Oxford sad cry
