cookies: Hello people, please my visa start date is 6th October but I'm planning to leave on 28th of this month, because I need time to settle in before school resumes. Hope it won't be an issue at heathrow airport London? Advice please, thanks .Are you going to the university of oxford? cos i know they resume on the 6th |
scientist235: Dont worry at least the doubting thomases for nddc would believe theres nothing to panic about, hope you have done yourTB TESTI did it even before I got the NITDA scholarship. Working with faith |
scientist235: CONGRATS ON YOUR NITDA SCHOLARSHIP,BUT I HEARD YOU HAVE NOT COLLECTED YOUR LETTER YETThanks man. Not yet o. You know how naija things dey be nao. Diariz God o. Diariz God in everything we are doing... ![]() |
Chaze85: Guyz pls a little help,I did myi provided ielts to my university and they include it in my CAS i want to fill up but i dnt understand what will I write for1. Awarding body : BRITISH COUNCIL 2. Title of qualification: INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE TESTING SYSTEM 3. level of qualification: "Your overall band score" |
sifo: Fear of what? Consoling ourselves from what? . Up till this this point ur comments on the issue have been quite mature but SMH for this statement. Wish u all the best at OxfordThanks. It's aiit, guess I deserve that polite insult. Anyways, wishing you all the best too. |
csimms7: I've been following all what you all have been saying and I have one thing to say to those who said they'd forfeit. That's real weak talk. Balderdash. Rubbish! Forfeit kor forfeit ni! Na lack of information dey kill us for this one country we dey oooo! Let's look at the facts here. As stated the first school in Nigeria to appear amongst the top schools came in at about 3000, all the schools affiliated with the nddc fare way better than that. IPS we are talking about is not a university. It's for professional courses! It's like going to India for a professional course in automation, instrumentation and control that's why it's expensive and their affiliates also. Let's argue here with facts. We are waiting patiently and I pray we all get this then make I see una wey wan forfeit.Bros, e go better for you ooo. Abeg make dem dey deceive themselves. na fear dey make them talk like that. Dey are just consoling themselves. |
sifo: Good for you. But NDDC's 17800 pounds won't cover ur living expenses and accommodation so it means u have enough cash to settle that.I have another scholarship. Just rooting for you guys for NDDC since we started together before I got the other scholarship. |
linton99: hmmm una ehh...so if u finish from IPS uniport, them go gv u work abi??..Bro, abeg help me ask them o |
sifo: 1. Am on this thread because I did Nddc too and would like to know d final outcome whether I accept d offer or notOkay, I understand your point now and I am inclined to agree with you. With God's help, I made sure I got admission into at least 5 top schools in UK. I am going to the University of Oxford afterall to study Computer Science. So I think that in my case, IPS is not an option for me even if it comes begging and crawling. The only case you are stuck with Coventry and the likes is if you have not gotten admission earlier or if you do not have enough money to complement NDDC's $30000. I got admission in Oxford by February based on faith that I would get a sponsor and I did my tb test in June based on the same faith. |
sifo: Bros he didn't just say uniport he said Institute of Petroleum studies (IPS) uniport. Go make enquiries about the progam bro its way better than most UK unis for sure. I support 4mula22's statement fully. No be just to go get degree come house come dey find job again, u also need to consider the employment opportunities afterwards. For argument's sake, lets say you are right. The question is "what are you guys doing on this thread and waiting for NDDC?". As a matter of fact, why apply for the scholarship when what is obtainable in UK is also obtainable here in Nigeria even at better quality? Lets' wake up and stop deceiving ourselves. Everyone wants to work in oil and gas industries, what happens to the remaining sectors in the economy? There are jobs everywhere, open your eyes and find them, then chose what to study. You go to UK and come back looking for jobs because you didn't do your feasibility study before going. All of us wanna work in oil and gas. maka why? |
liyahhh: I am actually from Central America, i just happened to find this forum and used it since everyone on here is so helpfulOh, I see. Congratz all the same |
4mula22: All them uk schools are just big names... especially those related to the oil and gas industry. I'm saying outta experience as we have some of the best professors of petroleum engineering lecturing in schools like uniportSorry to say this boss, but I guess you must be sleeping on okada. The first naija school to appear in ranking is OAU at position 1600+. Even your so called Uniport is not in the first 3000+ schools. UK schools are still far better than what we have here. As shabi as westminster and west london are, they still beat our universities hands down as they have facilities that we could only dream of. |
liyahhh: Hey! I know it's been forever, but I just thought I should update on my outcome since you were offering me advice. I got my visa! I got the decision basically within 1 working day. I had no problem whatsoever with my maintenance funds as I was still able to fall within the £800 a month category as stated in the Tier 4 visa policy guide.Really? 1 working day? Please where did you apply? |
baddoski: Hello house applied for my visa on Monday 4/8/2014 and got it issued on Friday just like to thank everyone in this thread for the help.COngratulations. That was pretty fast. Please where did you make your application? Ikeja or Abuja? |
sukber: evening house! Want to ask: if visa was issued 2day, can some1 travel to d UK 2-3 weeks after d visa has been issued? You can enter the UK a month earlier than your resumption date as long as you course is more than 6 months. So yes, you can travel on the 1st of September, there will be no consequence. |
emtikay: I heard the letters won't be ready till first week of Sept but don't know how true. I think we should find a way of communicating with NITDA to speed up their processIs your source credible? |
I need that letter before friday. Friday is my deadline to submit the award letter to my school. ![]() |
kemkem30: Please I still need help with this. Thanks! You can apply for the visa with your current scholarship letter as it covers both your tuition and maintenance fee. UKBA just need to see evidence of at least (820GBP * 9months) for living expenses and since your scholarship covers it, you do not need to show an account with 28 days anymore. I hope this answers your question? |
emtikay: Please has anyone been contacted by NITDAI don't think so o. We need that award letter badly |
linton99: NDDC releases d cash both to ur sch n d balance to u when they confirm ur in UK and u have sent them d necessary account nos...except they wana change their patternHow about people who collect cash before leaving Nigeria? And those who collect the money yet didn't travel, what would you say about that? |
csimms7: When you get to the school, NDDC pays, at times the payment is made towards the end of the year being November/dec/jan and then the balance will be paid to your account. How about people who collect cash before leaving Nigeria? And those who collect the money yet didn't travel, what would you say about that? |
Benny247: Bros.... I hail Oooo.... Strong man. Congrats. Thanks man. I wish you all well and that same God who never fails will give you all the much-awaited NDDC scholarship this week in Jesus name (In Allah's if you are a muslim) |
GlobalCareers: Are u a 1st class graduate? Which Oxford scholarship did you receive? Is it Rhodes?Yes, I am a first class graduate but I didn't get any scholarship from the university of oxford, just an admission. However, God gave me the NITDA scholarship |
bidibudi: So i need not include the letter for the English language proficiency to my documentYou need not include them, your English language proficiency will appear on your CAS. If you are to include reference letter, it will also appear on your CAS but it is barely done. |
milychocs: Hello housewhich school are you going to bro? |
cabaye: see ginger o ..hope they will remember us before this coming Friday. I don't know why its so hard for Nddc to sponsor 1000 Niger deltans on ordinary local scholarships.smhIf they do, where will they get money for embezzlement? |
Dantidote: Does it mean one cannot use two external sources to fund your tuition feeMost external source cannot allow you to combine their funds with others unless the school's deductions. You can work around that if one of the funding is cash-based (i.e. you can collect cash from the sponsor). I am fortunate to get this year NITDA scholarship and my tuition fee for the University of Oxford is 20,455 pounds. I paid the 455 pounds before going to the NITDA interview as NITDA is 20000 pounds capped. When I got there, they refused my admission with Oxford, saying that it is not accepted to mixed the NITDA scholarship with another fund. YOU SEE WHAT I MEAN? But there is always a work around... |
GlobalCareers: Closely look at the statement: NDDC paid the remaining 3000 tuition cost and also paid 16000 as living exp. Is the total not 19,000 pounds? But $30000 is less than 19000 pounds.Last year dollar was around N165 to a dollar. 30000 dollars is N4,950,000 (30000*165) Last year pounds was around N260 to a pound N4,950,000 is equivalently 19,000 pounds (4950000/260) Hope you get it now? |
GlobalCareers: Are you trying to say the nddc scholarship last yr was 3000+16000=19000 pounds? I thought it was $30000 (~17700 pounds).Current exchange last year equated the money to almost 19000 pounds (around N250 to a pound) |
Dantidote: can one use c6 in waec in visa processing as english qualificationIf you use the C6 to obtain your admission and the university did not request from any other English test, then your CAS will show that you have been assessed and approved by the university to be vast in englisg language. Hence, you do not need to submit any thing relating that to the embassy unless requested for specifically |
cabaye: you cannot use two different source of scholarships to fund your tuition. some schools like Portsmouth give 2000 pounds scholarship out of 12500 pounds tuition. the rule says that to be eligible one must have deposited 1000 pounds which would be stated on your cas letter before you can claim the scholarship and cannot be joined with another scholarship. What you are talking about is school-dependent. Not all schools put that restrictions. The restrictions on school scholarships is that you cannot hold more than one funding from the school but you can support your school funding from external sources (as far as that external source is not FULL funding) |
Dantidote: out of curiosity....can someone who has obtained a scholarship waiver of 12600 pounds out of the original tuition fee of 15600 in a uk university not listed in nddc, still use nddc scholarship if given?Yes you can. NDDC will pay up the balance of 3000 pounds to the University in question and pay the balance of 16000 into your personal account for living expenses. (Speaking of experience from two of my friends who got it last year) |
