nasoeb:Oh dear. I'm so sorry for the late reply. Please, the Port Harcourt Enugu rail has stopped working for almost two years now, thanks to Buhari's administration. The only thing we have now is Port Harcourt to Aba. I don't know though whether there's any terminal where it takes off around the South Eastern axis. Thanks Once again, sorry for the late reply. BOOK TITLE: LICENSED CRIME Category: Fiction ( Novel) Price: 400 Synopsis Grandma, a Lagos-based no-nonsense woman is on a crucial mission; a mission to save her family from going into extinction. Unfortunately for her, the possibility of this seemed to lie only in the hands of Elizabeth; a young woman whom she had forbidden her son from marrying because Elizabeth was an osu; an outcast. And an outcast does not get married to a freeborn in Igbo land as far as Grandma was concerned. It seems though that Providence always chooses to keep treasures amongst thorns. And this becomes the dilemma Grandma finds herself in: a twist of fate. Would she violate her “holy” stand and allow an osu into her family? Would she go by the Igbo proverb “cover the excreta with leaf and pick your udala”? Or would she maintain her cultural pride and suffer the fate of an empty compound; devoid of kids playing around? The choice Grandma makes results in the event that plunges the life of Kosi, the child in question into serious jeopardy. And this leads to clashes involving different classes of people who wield power in their different capacities: Grandma, Bartholomew, Chuba, Elizabeth and Veldine. How far would any of them go to fight and win or concede defeat in such a crucial battle especially in an African setting where a child is so very precious?

MoonWater:Thank you o |
Mine was last year in Port Harcourt o. Finished my NYSC and needed an 'office' work to add to my little hustling. Then, after submitting my CV in different schools and companies, I submitted to a security company too. Omo, they called me immediately and training began, both lectures and practical training and punishments from soldier. Then, after training, they told me what to submit, about 13 documents including an affidavit and two guarantor forms (you know why I'm telling you all these? Cos they say the pay ranges from 10k to 15k and son of man is submitting documents upon documents) Well, I submitted, wrote exams and passed elegantly and waited to be called. They did not call oh. Until later, I got another text from them to come for training. I went back and explained that I have attended all the training and am waiting for job They said they know but it's how they do it, they, that I will keep coming for training until there's an opening. I looked at my NYSC certificate, looked at my beautifully Senate endorsed 2.1 certificate from UNN, looked at the innocent me that wants to do security work, checked my pocket and how much I spend from Agip to D- Line any day I go for training, looked at the thin old Akwaibom man at the reception; saluted him and the office and left. Back home, I packed and left Port Harcourt for them, went back to Enugu and picked a M.Sc form I'm happy to be back to school now ![]() And security company is still sending message to their chi till today to come for training. I saw this horrible sight today at Agip Road Port Harcourt and decided to share for the authorities to become aware and do the needful. Knowing Agip road to be a very popular and important road in Port Harcourt, I was so dumbfounded to find a corpse lying there for two days, unattended to. It happened that on my way way back from work yesterday, I saw from the car as people were looking at something unfamiliar. I looked and saw a dead body lying like a log and covered with tarpaulin. Then, people began to talk about it, that the man had died earlier in the day and had been there since morning. Well, I had forgotten about it until this evening when I was passing again and noticed to my dismay that the corpse was still there. I had to alight, take a few steps backwards and snap so I can make it known for quick attention by the authorities. I would have gone to the police myself but knowing the kind of police we have over here, I can't afford to go and answer to what I don't know

Wow, good to know that the Yorubas are the original owners of Jerusalem. (maybe they should goan join in the fight now. lol) Meanwhile, we the Igbos are the direct descendants of Israel and it was our fathers that defeated you people and took away the land through God's divine permission ( not forming boss though who knows why Igbos and the Israelites still lord it over the whole earth today?) And if you still doubt the descent of the Igbos, check your Bible in Genesis 46:16 and see Eri's name ( the father of the Igbos) inscribed there with correct spelling as the son of Had, the son of Jacob Also, Google Obugad and find out its significance on the Igbo nation and find find out how it was dedicated how the name came about (Eri dedicated it to Gad, his father) I am Chizidgreat, by the way |
milemimi93:Is that the the terrible nightmare you just woke up from? Prepare to hide under the your bed in few months time when your Buhari will be chased back to Daura As for the Igbos, you will soon start begging them to accept you as a brother maka na egwu ga-adi very soon. Because it is raining now, to travel from Enugu to Portharcourt now takes us twelve hours instead of four and leaves our pockets crying because the drivers have to hike the fare . The road is bad Last time, our bus had to turn back on getting to Lokpa because the gridlock was a no go area. We negotiated Ishiagu and finally navigated through Ebonyi state to burst out at Okigwe. Then, on getting to Oyigbo, we slept and woke up several times in the vehicle because of heavy gridlock. The road is bad. To add to this bad condition, the train revamped by Goodluck Administration had stopped working. So, the only alternative was either to use flight or the road. And... The road is bad Now, the dilapidated state of Enugu/PH expressway has been this way since decades ago that I knew Port Harcourt. Administrations have come and gone and the roads has remained this way . Now, I need to know who is really beating the drums for all these misfortune. To stretch hand a bit, I've taken time to observe that this issue is not peculiar to Enugu/PH expressway alone. It cuts across almost all the eastern States. The state of Nsukka/ 9th expressway will surely make you cry. Awka/Onitsha expressway has been taken by herders because it has closed and grasses has started growing on them.We always have to navigate through Umunya/Nteje communities and pay thoroughfare at different bridges before we enter Onitsha. But I've noticed that from Asaba to Lagos is a different story altogether: the road is good From Benue to Abuja is express. It rightly bears the name the White man gave it: Express. It seems this issue of bad road is only peculiar to the East and South. I'm not saying that other places are totally free but I'm talking about prevalence. I'm not also trying to be tribally sentimental here but I'm only asking a sincere question: What is really the reason for this incurable prevalent horrendous situation? Selfish interests? Mismanagement of state power?/Tribal sentiment?Marginalization? INTENTIONAL ACT? What is really going on? Some people I spoke with on this matter had said the roads have been awarded several times but some greedy individuals hijacked it for personal gains. And on asking, are there really such individuals that hijack such monies and cause thousands to die yearly because of bad roads while they buy houses in Dubai and Switzerland? If yes, are we fair to still allow these people to live? I mean, are they not supposed to be rotting in their graves by now? Is this not why I have been shouting'Flush?' Yea, Nigerian political system need a total overhauling now. Away with all the old game players that has been playing with our destinies. Flush flush flush Away with recycling. Away with greedy and wicked people. Away with selfishness. I heard there is something the old Ghana did to become the new Ghana. I think it's high time Nigeria asked Ghana a sincere question.

Yesterday recorded massive crowd at Mile one, Port Harcourt as the gospel artiste, Mercy Chinwo popularly associated with her track "Excess love" launches a new album "The cross, My Gaze" Also present in the occasion were Prospa Ochimana (Ekwueme) who both thrilled and exhorted the crowd with his track, Ekwueme and Preye Odede (Ebezina) Luckily for a kid whom I think was picked out of inspiration, he became a benefactor during Preye's ministration. Preye, who was also launching an album broke into tears amidst his ministration and ordered for all the kids to come out, stating that as a kid, he had started from the streets. While praying for the kids, he singled out one of them, prayed specifically for him and promised that he will take care of him, under the platform of eezeconcepts.

So, I'll advice that you go the rail way station maybe on Monday and make enquiries first to be sure that they are moving on Tuesday. Good luck |
