Solsix: Those where in the past, incase anything goes wrong, depositors will be refunded. Every Kobo is insured by NDIC. It will only take time. Not every kobo. NDIC is insured upto 500k. That means if you have 100m in a bank wey fold, na 500k dey go give you.

"I know people who have hundreds of millions in opay. It's a digital bank. You can check the Thier monthly interest pay out to their top 100 customers. But am not sure I can put that kind of money in an app."
Lol those ones are naive and greedy. They don't know the banking history of the country they're living in. Probably they are "new money" who are chasing Opay's high interest rate with huge sums. An "old money" can't try such nonsense. They should go and study what happened in the past to well established commercial banks in Nigeria with nationwide branches like Savannah Bank, Oceanic Bank, Intercontinental Bank etc. Talkless of putting their trust in an app that can vanish in a second. |

Solsix: Depends on the amount. If it's less than 100k use opay. Atleast the interest is daily. No serious person put his savings in an app without nationwide physical branches. Those apps should be treated as wallets tho you said only less than 100k. |

Politics › 24hrs Electric: Abia Govt Should Build Digital Nomad Village In Aba by chnnmfl(op): 1:59pm On Mar 08, 2024 |
According to the Geometric IPP, by the end of April the 4th turbine will be switched on and everything about electricity in Aba will be complete.
This is a free business tip for Abia Govt. Anyone reading this that is close to Gov. Oti should pass this to him. There are many digital nomad villages around the world established for remote workers.
The major challenges faced by Nigerian remote workers are: "high speed internet and steady electricity". With the recent development in Abia, the govt can cash in on this by building a state of the art digital village in Aba with high speed internet where digital nomad can work and network.
The facility will have lodging areas, work station, sports facilities, eatery, police post etc. Preferably the village should be located in Ogborhill. Ogborhill is a hilltop area of Aba with riverside view. Infact, the govt should convert and expand the abandoned govt-owned Enyimba Hotel in Ogborhill and use it for the village.
There are over 50,000 remote workers in Nigeria that will regularly patronize the village and it will also boost the local economy.

There is no way anyone can say the whole of Aba Is planned I lived in Aba decades ago before Ariaria moved to its current location So I have some knowledge of Aba. If ever Aba had a master plan it has been almost totally jettisoned Before any other thing else, the very basic meritc of judging a good urban area is the design and master plan. That's the foundation. I have shown you the scintillating Google Earth grid image of Aba showing that it's a brilliant and a well taughtout design by the planners. And I have challenged you to show the grid design of the cities you are comparing with Aba. "A cartesian grid as a street pattern provides interconnectedness. With its innate quality of being comprehensible, there is a possibility of availing multiple routes to any destination. Dispersion of movement (vehicular and pedestrian) is possible as almost all streets are the same, with no rigid hierarchical constructs. "

I have been to about 26 states in this country and have seen over 30 cities and towns in Nigeria. I can safely state that Aba is unarguably the best planned city in Nigeria by the British colonialists most especially the city downtown areas. If there is any other better planned city in Nigeria, pls state it here so that I can learn and relearn.
I think the British town planners used the "Cartesian grid" system in designing the city. The arrangement of lands and the design of the road networks are top notch. There are multiple routes to any location. Once you enter Aba town areas, obverse how all the roads looked the same with regular intersections and also how every building are in a single file order.
Abuja town areas is good. IBB tried in Abuja but it can't rival this. I'm talking in terms of proper urban planning not fancy buildings or skyscrapers.
Kudos to the British planners. What the city needs now are regular maintenance of the drainage system and more infrastructural projects.
