Gajagojo: Clearly you have nothing logical to say so you resort to the empty abuse we know you for
You need statistics to back up any claim that is population based
You cannot just wake up and throw a claim on the floor and expect everyone to agree As far we no am aware Ibos are the darkest people I know. You should be proud You're just clowning yourself. After saying that you want stat, that you can't accept anything without statistics. Then you went on to make a claim on igbos without stat? You're just a clown! |

Gajagojo: The premise of the thread is based on a baseless. assumption
The claim that there are so much light skin is faulty How much ? Any statistics? What exactly is light skin and how is it measured?or defined? How much light skin is there among Urhobo Efik Edo or Ijaw before you came to this conclusion It has no basis and is just as meaningful as asking why there are so many mad people among the Ibos, an equally ridiculous question. Yes there are mad Ibo people but how many?
Are there more light skinned or more madmen in that population?
What is the relevance of your so called white skin baby Is this reported only to Ibos?
That is simply a freak mutation that has happened with people from Congo and elsewhere It is nothing peculiar to Ibos You are just ranting with no focus or specific question asked. Thread is on why are there so much light skinned people among igbos of Nigeria not of Congo. Also a light skinned Urhobo, Efik, Edo or Ijaw man in Abuja or Lagos will first be mistaken for Igbo till he explain himself. It happened during the last election in Lagos. I think one comment here on FP from a light skinned Yoruba man narrated how he was mistaken for Igbo by a sudanese in London. So I don't know if you are feigning ignorance of it or just wanted to rant. |

2nd Nimbo Killings, Mba visited the community to take pictures and play eye service.
Any SE governor that can't create a vigilant group equipped them openly or secretly and position them at flashpoint areas of the state is nothing but a coward and should be voted out come next election.
Because ESN can't be everywhere at a time due to the fact that they lack adequate funding since their founder is in jail. |

The aim of this thread is to uncover why there are so much light skin people among the igbos.
In 2010, Igbo couple living in London gave birth to a white baby named baby Nmachi with blonde hair and blue eyes. DNA result confirmed that that the baby belongs to the man.
It's still surprising till this day.

realmindz: How black men celebrate slavery and colonization , a thing of shame that people should be weeping when speaking of the darkest parts of human history. And how people even feel proud to look like this same white masters. It’s so bad You are the ignorant one here. Science made us to know that life started in Africa. The is no human genetic variants that you can't find among black people: light skin, dark skin, blonde hair, blue eyes, brown eye, pointed nose etc. We possess the dorminant human gene as we are the first race on earth So light skin originated from Africa not in Europe.

ElSudani: There are some fair skinned Ibos. But the majority are dark skinned like Oby Ezekwesili. The OP is mentally enslaved thinking lighter skin means better! What a shame. Nothing like slave mentality here. I'm a dark skin Igboman myself. I wanted to know why igbos have a lot of fair skinned people while the neighbouring tribes dont. I created the thread out of pure curiosity. It is same curiosity the made Europeans to embark on voyages to know what is on the other side of the Atlantic and discovered us. |

I read somewhere that during British Colonialism in Nigeria, the Brits prefers sleeping with Igbo and calabar women due to them being neater than others, that that's the reason why there are many fair skinned people among Igbos.
I wanted to believe it but then I remembered these Igbo surnames:
1. Okorocha: White skinned young man.
2. Nwokeocha: White skinned man.
3. Okocha: Fair complexioned male child.
These names predates colonialism in igboland. The names have been in existence before the coming of Britain.
These igbo men below have both igbo parents and grandparents. I delerately left out the women, I don't want to mistakely include bleached skins.
1. Anambra Musician, Phyno
2. Imo State Actor, Mike Godson 3. Abia State House Of Rep Member, Alex Ikwechegh
What do think about it?

Another major reason is that the awareness on the true realities on the ground abroad is spreading.
A lot of Nigerians believed that once they go abroad, they have made it in life. It's an utopian wonderland to many uninformed Nigerians.
I know how many anti-japa threads I have created here that made it to FP since 2020 and even on Twitter in a bid to educate the uninformed.
The thing is that people are begining to be aware of what is obtainable on the ground there and the delusion is weighing down. |

toneroforever: Please stop misinforming people who would like to know the true status of power supply in Aba. There has been an improvement in some areas since the commissioning but a whole lot of places haven't experienced much changes as well.
While Geometric Power has the capacity to supply electricity 24/7 due to the 4 gas turbines,it must be noted that it will still take a while because everywhere isn't metered yet and more transformers need to be distributed too. Also there's the issue of inadequate gas supply which is affecting all Gencos in the country.
So the fact that the power plant has been commissioned does not automatically translate to instant 24/7 power supply in Aba yet. Geometric Power is an integrated power company. The generation of the power needs of Aba has been made possible by the installation of the gas turbines, they are now working on evacuation of the power generated and distribution to meet the residential, commercial and industrial needs. Do you have comprehension problems? Did you read my initial post? What do you mean by saying that I'm misinforming people? I said on quote "We have been enjoying 24hrs electricity in my area in Aba since Saturday evening"
I said in "my area" not the whole of Aba. I can only report where I am right now not elsewhere. In my area in Aba we have been enjoying over 22hrs since Saturday evening which is unusual. If they take it, in few minutes they will bring it back immediately. Read and comprehend before rushing to reply. |

santaclaws: It's even cheaper in Argentina & Turkey where they earn more than Nigeria. I reckon there are several factors that affect the prices including demand, taxes and purchasing power and currency rates to the US dollar....
That's not cheap at all considering the fact that the minimum (monthly) wage in Nigeria is just $20. There are high inflation and heavy currency devaluations in both Argentina and Turkey in recent months same with Nigeria. That could be one of their yardstick of fixing the rate. |
