Cause with oando, you're betting on the person running it to succeed. The whole of 2023, and only one profitable quarter. In Q2 they had an FX gain of 258bn, hence the 140bn profit for the period. Then guess what happened in Q4? Another 377bn in FX gain but this time they lost 70bn for the period. How do you make less with more? Don't ask me further questions because everything is in public space for all to see and analyse. Your own DD is advised.

This is a good, thought-provoking analysis of Oando historic performance in FY2023, and serves as a good guide to moderate the expectations of investors/gamblers.
My thinking, however, is that investors weigh in more on the potential future earnings and performance of the company, rather than past performance.

Hope is not a strategy,always go with what is on the table because of unforseen circumstances.eg insecurity etc that can affect performance.

I dis agree on the two things you mentioned. The country just borrowed in dollars. And forex has been stable. It will likely start heading down gradually or stay flat.
Then for inflation. It has reached it bend.You should expect very slow downward movement. And we are entering the quaters of harvest of farm produce. The last two months was maginal increase in inflation.

We are talking of publication by punch Newspaper as at yesterday 25th June 2024;stating that Inflation and shortage of forex worries MPC members,from what is happen at the forex parallel market we can all see how dollar/naria exchange has been struggling between 1450- 1500+, can we call that stability.
Definitely they must increase rate again.then the price of all stock will come down including Oando, What
I am saying is that we should be mindful of MPC rate increase, while doing anything in the market especially now.

~ FBNH failed to sustain bullish momentum upon pull back...bears might attempt to push price down sub N20 before attracting bargain hunters.

~ Lasaco looking set for a decent run. Any price below N2.20 is good entry for insurance stock lovers.

~ MTN needs to retest previous low before a push to the upside. value zone is sub N190.

~ Transcorp plc bullish close last week looks attractive and very compelling to dive in. currently trading in value zone.

~ WB continues to be mopped up by smart money. accumulation phase now seems to be over. Entry price of >N6.70 is a steal.

~ Jaiz Bank remains hard for bears to crack. At current price, is cheap and ripe for some decent run to the upside.

~ Stanbic faced rejection at every attempt to cross above the N60 stubborn price level. Price to retest previous low (sub N46) before upward reversal.

~ Champion Breweries- the bulls defended support level N2.50 aggressively. Not bad to pick up some units below N2.90.

Using the current Naira to Rand Fx rate of N81.48 to 1 Rand, 0.2 Rand = 81.48 x 0.2 = approx N16.3
So OANDO JSE trades @ N1.1 or 7.2% premium above it's NGX CMP of N15.2. [(16.3--15.2)/15.2]
...that's still a good thing.

The judge had already accepted the application to join in the suit on Oando's proposed delisting; that is why the other party was allowed to file their case and also made presentation in court as part of the proceedings in the case!
What will be delivered on June 24 is the court ruling, which will take into consideration the presentations and arguments of both the proponents and opponents of the proposed delisting!

If the acquisition of NAOC by Oando becomes successful and finalized, Oando would have proven oil reserves of about 1billion barrels. At a very conservative estimate of USD50 per barrel, that gives USD50billion. Even if only 50% of that is recoverable, that makes it USD25billion.
At a conservative rate of N1000/USD, that is N25 Trillion naira! The total indebtedness of Oando is far less than that, so there is HUGE potential in Oando. The short-term may be very challenging but the long term prospect is very bright! But for those who don't mind buying and waiting

Even wale have hinted in the last meeting that he is not delisting Oando,I watched the video when he was asked when he will resume payment of dividends,he answered soon. 😀

The stock will be paraborating at 8.50 to 9.50 region for some time waiting for the next court case adjournment and the 2023 calamity to be released around July.

You have every opportunity to bail out now and look for a low BP stock to enter

The only thing Oando needs now to appreciate in price is the issues of delist,once it is settled (suspended) which will be cleared by 24th of June 2024.there is no further adjournment the price will skyrocket.

Oando that is talking about coming to market to raise capital. There is more to Oando, the stock is full of drama and I trust we are yet to see half of it until around November.

I think once the court case over delist is suspended the price will appreciate tremendously because ordinary if Oando is not talking about delisting and have been on business like their peers Oando price won't be trading at current low price despite making loss .
