Congrats bro. Did you apply through the paper route? Was the stamped photocopy of your passport sent along with the request for medical??

Smartlawyer:
Dear All,

Quick update on my application. I just received the medical email/request from CIC. Today marks exactly 5 weeks that I applied.

Hoping for the best with the rest...

It was by the mercy of God. The Masters program comes automatically with full funding, and it's highly competitive. Thank God

Marytee2:
Plsease how did you get your full funding?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by chonewillie: 7:10am On Apr 08, 2017
The posts I read here have truly been helpful.

I intend to submit my application by next week. Graciously, I got full funding from the school for a one year Masters program. I will also attach my SOA since I have been working for quite some time.

My challenge however is home tie. I'm single and I have not included any landed property in my application since I have none. However, I have already included the following documents to prove home tie: Pension statement, Employment and promotion letters, Letter of introduction from a professional body, Family info form(parents and siblings all resident in Nigeria). Would these serve as good home tie?

Please I need your advice

Please house, I gained admission for a Masters program in Canada. I should submit my TRV application (paper route) by next week in Lagos. I wrote my SSCE at two sittings. For this reason, I wouldn't want to attach my ssce result to my application. Moreso, I am going for a masters program. Please I need your advice
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by chonewillie: 9:52pm On Mar 31, 2017
People often say and strongly believe that there must be sufficient evidence to show to the CIC that one still has ties with their home country. Such ties are often proved by way of marriage certificate (if the applicant is travelling alone), grant of study leave, landed property, letter of introduction from employer, etc. I do not have any of these. However, I intend to upload/attach my PENSION STATEMENT. I do not know how far this will go in proving home tie in addition to a strongly worded Statement of Purpose stating that the Applicant would return to his country upon completion of the programme. Please what do you think?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by chonewillie: 9:50am On Mar 30, 2017
It's a Masters Program

michV:
sir,I am not understanding.. @bold, Is his program an undergraduate base on the context you put it?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by chonewillie: 2:03am On Mar 29, 2017
Please House, can I possibly use my Pension Fund Account statement as my major hometie. I might not be granted study leave at my place of work and I have no landed property
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by chonewillie: 6:54pm On Mar 21, 2017
Thank you so much

Austinpee4:
No, it is not. It's simply an additional travel document for Visa EXEMPT travellers to canada. Nigerians require a TRV to travel to canada and therefore, the ETA isn't applicable in both study permit application or any other visa application to canada.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by chonewillie: 5:22pm On Mar 21, 2017
Please can someone in simple terms explain what Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) means.

Is this new entry requirement applicable to Study Permit applicants?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by chonewillie: 12:27pm On Mar 19, 2017
Thank you so much Osemigho.

I am expected to resume by September 2017. Does the online application not take shorter time to process than the paper route?

Osemigho:
1: you are advised to apply by yourself.

2: all CIC study visa forms and supporting documents. Check first page of this thread for same of supporting documents.

3: I will advise you apply via paper route cos you will be semi-guided at VAC if you miss something.

4: if your funding is full I.e. cover fees and upkeep of atleast $10,000, your stress is reduced to just showing little amont in your, your parent's or partner account. If partial, I.e. fees alone, you need evidence that you can take care of your upkeep.

5: yes. If you have it, attach it.

6: Job is home tie. Employment letter, letter of introduction, pay slips, etc are its evidences.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by chonewillie: 11:08am On Mar 19, 2017
1. Can I possibly apply for my study permit by myself or use an agent?

2. What are the exact documents I need for the study permit application?

3. Should I apply online or offline?

4. Since I got funding, do I still need to go through the difficult task of getting a sponsor

5. Can I simply attach a fixed deposit SOA of N4m in addition to the school's letter of funding

6. Can my employment letter serve as a hometie.? I have no fixed asset.
