barcanista: This guy is a cretin. I don't know where Jonathan is seeing all these mediocres and clueless people. How can he say that the killing of a Terrorist kingpin is immaterial? Is he wiser that the USA that celebrated Osama's murder in 2011 and Al Shabab's Kingpin murder few weeks ago?if you aware of the modus operandi of all terror organisations you would know that killing the leader doesn't end their campaign, it only paves the way for another. alshabaab has a new leader and still terrorises somalia, alqaeda has a new leader after osama and still a threat yo the world. although killing shekau is a big blow to those cows but it isn't the end until they all surrender or are completely wiped off. next time don't just cut out a section of a comment to justify your immature conclusion. |
@op. na cave you dey since? this na old news na. |
NaijaPikinGidi: Fear is now real for every terrorist. Would anyone have imagined them surrendering like never before in the history global terrorism? Make we see who get liver! Troops fired-up like never before! Mopping-up continuing as we speak. See what few new airframes have helped us achieve? This is a lesson for us in COIN operations. We can add it to our superior conventional war expertise.SANDF will definitely be coming back for more lessons and training. #VictoryForNigeria. #BadNewsToCNNBBC |
The Defence Headquarters confirmed that self- acclaimed leader of the Boko Haram sect, Mohammed Bashir, alias “Abubakar Shekau’’ had died in an encounter with troops at Konduga in Borno. The Director of Defence Information, Maj.-Gen. Chris Olukolade, confirmed the death of Shekau at news conference in Abuja on Wednesday. “In course of encounters, one Mohammed Bashir, who has been acting or posing as the deceased Abubakar Shekau, the eccentric character known as the leader of the group died. “Since the name Shekau has become a brand name for the terrorists’ leader, the Nigerian military remains resolute to serve justice to anyone who assumes that designation or title,’’ Olukolade said. He said that the same fate await all terrorists who sought “to violate the freedom and territory of Nigeria’’. The defence spokesman said that the deceased Shekau was also known as “Abacha Abdullahi Geidam’’ and “Damasack’’. According to him, the recent devastation on the leadership of the insurgents is attributable to the renewed commitment to the mission of eradicating terrorism in our country. He said that another 133 terrorists surrendered to troops on Tuesday, bringing the total number to 148 The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalled that five insurgents had surrendered to troop in Konduga while 10 surrendered in Kawuri both in Borno recently. Olukolade said of the 133 that surrendered on Tuesday, 88 gave up their arms at Mairiga and Buniyadi in Borno, while 45 surrendered at Mubi and Michika in Adamawa. He commended the gallantry of the troops, assuring that the military would remain undaunted in prosecuting the campaign against terror in the country. Olukolade said that between Sept. 12 and Sept. 17, the insurgents made four attempts to attack Konduga but were repelled by air and land forces deployed to handle the situation. “The keen interest exhibited by our neighbours and allies is commendable and we appreciate them. “All allies in the war against terrorism are hereby assured of the Nigerian military’s resolve to maintain the momentum in the efforts to decimate and defeat terrorists. “It is nevertheless necessary to alert all citizens that there is still the need for even more vigilance and cooperation with the security forces. “Everybody is required to remain alert to ensure that we are not taken unaware by terrorist elements, who might want to carry out isolated attacks in any part of our country,’’ he said. GreenandGold: Ok I will be easy on you... that thing called a map represents the world in a drawn 2D format. This particular map shows routes used for shipping by the international society. However you don't have to stress yourself about it because the country you live in (Nigeria) is not part of the international society.what a goof. shipping lane does not meant major trading route. you must have felt happy making a fool of yourself there. south africa is not a major trading route.. period but in case you brain is still on lockdown lemme hrlp you out. www.worldshipping.org/about-the-industry/global-trade/trade-routes south africa has the lowest number in the whole wide world. |

SADC waters is not a major trading route dummy. Nigeria alone covers the whoke west africam waters and down to angola. |

Sailings are most numerous and most frequent on routes where trade volumes are largest and demand is therefore greatest. In liner trades to and from the UK, the busiest routes are to the Far East (especially China and Japan), passing through the Mediterranean, the Suez Canal and the Malacca Straits. The North Atlantic route, linking Western Europe and the USA and Canada, is also busy, and there are well-established routes to the Middle East, India, Australia and New Zealand, Central and South America, as well as to East and West Africa dum dum ![]() |
