Every country has its place. South Africa is above Nigeria. SA's defence industry has for long produced weapons with performance in mind first not towards international sells. That's why many weapons that were used in Angola are still being used today and highly effect example being the Husky vehicle. What I'm trying to tell you is that whether Nigeria purchases more advanced weapons without a defence industry to back your military in terms of servicing,maintains,further development of systems and repair. Your country will never be compared militarily to SA.

You must have missed last year's Nigerian army day when army the army displayed it's artillery, tanks, APC's that were serviced by the army on home soil. (those equipments were deemed un serviceable before then)

The navy is expanding the dock yard to accommodate bigger ships. They have built ships. What makes you think they can't service and maintain them.

The airforce last year serviced about 10 (can't remember) alfa jets, F-7N1 and transport plane (C130) locally by air force engineers.

We also manufacture our light weapons, APC(igirigi and perforce), drones, bombs and grenades.

Stop being under the illusions that only SA has the capacity to maintain it's weapons.
