please I need advise. I got an unconditional offer for Jan intake to UWE. To issue CAS, they requested for bank statement and TB certificate. I sent an email to iomlagosmedicalbooking@iom.int requesting for an appointment. I got an automated reply asking me to do it online through a link. When I checked the link, the earliest date in Lagos for appointment was December 20th 2021 which would obviously not allow me time to process CAS not to talk of Visa. Please how do I go around this as I need the TB certificate to even get CAS.
Kindly help please.

Oh! The green slip means that there were discrepancies in your application. They needed some time to verify it. Even the VO saw there was outstanding fee but you oblige it was full funding.

Have you gone through the i20 documents to see if there are deficits?

You would have sticked with your company in the 2nd interview. Why did you change to uncle?

You wouldn't have replied the VO when he said no need for bringing the letter to prove you have full funding.


All these made the second one to or reject you immediately.

There is problem with your i20

If I were you, I would have told my school to effect the correction if it is truly fully funding without deficient.

If I were you also, I would have changed school.

But all the same, it is good not to change everything when applying for a second Visa. It should be static.

Now what has changed in your i20. Because this time around, you need to be prepared.

The first consular never got all the information needed in your i20 likewise the second one. And this time around becareful on the filling of the DS160 to also avoid discrepancies.

You have problem on your i20.

Yea I have deficit of about 17 thousand dollars but I got a full tuition waiver the only thing I notice was that there was a difference between the estimated fee and tuition waiver by some 200 dollars of which I wrote to the school and they told me the estimated fee was just an estimated because the tuition fee could increase or decrease

My problem is the 2nd interview I want not given any opportunity to explain and this one they are saying home ties now I was thinking maybe I use a sponsor that had the same surname with me to help prove home ties


But any advise you give me will be appreciated abeg...............

First interview

VO: Good morning and how are you and pass me your documents
Me: I am fine and I passed him my documents
VO: Is your funding a full tuition waiver
Me: I said yes
VO: but I can see that it’s not a full tuition waiver
Me: I replied it’s a full tuition waiver and I have a letter to prove that
VO: no I don’t need to see that but I can see there differences in your estimated fee and actual tuition fee
Me: I replied I don’t know probably might some insurance fee not covered
VO: he went on and asked why is my company sponsoring me are they so generous
Me: I said because I have been working for over five years with the company and we have a policy of rewarding staff to allow them go on study leave but before I ended
VO: are you married
I said no
VO: have you travelled out before and then
I said no

Before he said sorry you do not qualify for the visa. He even emphasized that I reed the green slip

Stick with Uncle. Whether same surname or not, just stick with that? Did the 2nd VO go through the statement of account. If yes, stick to that particular person. If no, you can use any SOA but it should still be uncle.

Were you ask who is sponsoring you in the 2nd interview?

How where your questions answered? Did you answer correctly as it was filled on your Ds160 and even the question asked outside the Ds160?

Did you prove home ties?

Were you desperate to show your SOA to the VO when not asked?

Were you ask where you are working and you had an evidence like a passport to show?

I need to know all these because they can equally be a factor of denial.

The second interview was very short
After collecting my document he took a least 30 secs to go through my i20 to review sha and then started typing before he asked me his first question

VO: where do you work at
Me: I told him that I work at Xyz as a research analyst which involves analyzing data using python and r to get insights

VO: who sponsoring your trip
Me: I told him my Uncle(with a different surname) that he runs a haulage business

He took long to type before he asked
Are you married: I said no

Have you traveled out before: I said I have no reason to do so not until now

After he just said the normal stuff sorry you do not qualify for a visa blah blah

He didn’t even ask for my statement

The first time I did a big mistake. I had my i20 showing Company and family friend as my sponsor while I filled in my dad on my ds160. I think the VO took note on that and denied me

The second I tried to rectify from the school. I changed my sponsor to my uncle and filled the same on my ds160 but I was denied.

Am currently going for the third time now but I don’t know if I should use another sponsor with my own surname

Please kindly advise and I don’t mind chatting you up privately

Please I have been denied twice with different sponsors.

The first time I used my dad as sponsor but stated company and family friend on my i20

The second time I stated family on my i20 and uncle in Nigeria while using my uncle on my i20 but his surname is different from my own

But now I have a uncle that has the surname with me and is ready to give me his statement.

Do you think it’s advisable to change sponsor again
