My candid advice, learn how to play the piano.

Considering your post, I can say you have a very little knowledge of the art.

If you are going for professional music production training, then You'll prolly be taught how to play an instrument, and the piano being the most versatile intrument, has a 0.99 probability of being taught.

I can't play the piano but I make beats, and I can tell you that it's really hard to get my stuff sound professional without sampling. I can only play simple chords or melodies and complete the rest on the sequence.

We Nigerians are not used to sampling, we hate paying for clearance.

Ok I like this alot.

But what about the sample heads like 9th Wonder and myself . I'm not good on the keys, matter of fact, I can't play the damn keys now so I always go with sampling them old records. I make straight up hip-hop beats (that old skool sh!t). I guess cos It's the ones I listen to and got influenced.

It's really sad tho, cos that type of sh!t really don't sell here . I go to bed praying that God connects me with the Next Mode9 who really want to make music for the love.

Nevertheless, I still make trap music too, just to satisfy the audience. And I like atmospheric stuffs so my beats go thru that path.

I hope to enroll for piano lessons real soon

The Thang is You have to listen to d album for like 3-4 times and make some research to in order to grab the message behind em. of course except for songs like how much a dollar cost, Momma, & blacker the Berry which tells straight stories.

Honestly I wanted to delete the album d first time I got it cos what I had in mind was sometin similar to d concept of GKMC .
