Foreign AffairsMalawian President, joyce Banda Neva Sold Country's Private Jet by chriseruba(op): 12:49pm On Jan 02, 2014
After
reading in the media about the so-called mysterious jet which
is flying the State President around, we carried our own very
careful investigations. We were greatly shocked to find out that
it is the same former Malawi Government plane which was
flying Late Bingu around.
It is the very plane that President Joyce Banda swore to the
Malawi nation and the world at large that she would never fly
in.
She in fact urged her Government officials to sell this plane
very quickly, telling us that she does not need it. She assured
us all that she would be using commercial flights. We are now
forced to conclude that all this was deliberate misinformation.
There must have been some underground deals with the buyer
of the plane, such as being assured of some favors, material or
otherwise, or being allowed to fly in the plane afterwards in
return for favorable transactions in the sale.
We now know that the plane was sold to a company called
Bohnox Enterprise Limited. Although this company is
registered in the Virgin Islands, the owner, a Mr Ivor
Ischikowitz, is a resident of South Africa.
He also owns Paramount Group, a company which deals in
military hardware and it is registered in South Africa. This is
the company which paid for the UK PR firm which came to
Malawi to clean up the President’s image in the face of
Cashgate scandal.
In addition, this is the same company that sold us seven gun
boats to patrol over Lake Malawi soon after our lake dispute
with Tanzania started.
The ‘Sold’ Presidential Jet
We all remember how the State House chose to hide the source
of funding for the UK PR firm. The revelations came from an
overseas publication. Now the same State House is being very
tongue tied about the secret well-wisher who is providing this
mysterious plane for the President to fly around.
We worried then about how the Paramount Group funded the
PR firm and why the State House wanted to hide it all. This is
obviously because we know that there is a high propensity for
bribes, corruption, and fraud in sales and transactions of
military hardware worldwide. We were somewhat relieved
when we read that President Joyce Banda has terminated her
contract with the UK PR firm even if this may have been done
in order to avoid the discovery of more irregularities in the
deal.
We now would like to leave it up to the Malawi public to figure
out why a South African resident should use a Virgin Island
registered company to buy a plane from the Malawi
Government, paint it differently and change its registration
number, keep it in South Africa, and clandestinely fly the
President of Malawi around the globe in that plane.
This situation is made more troublesome by the fact that the
State House still wants to keep all these facts secret from the
Malawi public. They cannot somehow learn from the PR firm
fiasco.
We also hear that this is the same company which leased
Mbalachanda Estate from ADMARC and also owns Engen Oil
Company in Malawi. We now must ask ourselves that with
such level of presence in Malawi, how many other secret deals
is the PP Government making with this company?
To what extent is the company willing to go to fund the
cleaning up the Government image in the face of scandals like
Cashgate?
Can this Government assure us that there are no elements of
Cashgate in its dealings with this company that may show up
elsewhere like in the on-going forensic audit? In short, is
Paramount Group not another Cashgate company?
PoliticsNSA Put Spyware On Tech Products by chriseruba(op): 12:37pm On Jan 02, 2014
The National Security Agency maintains an elite hacker unit
whose operational mandate includes penetrating the
cybersecurity of foreign governments and planting spyware in
consumer tech products, according to a report by German
magazine Der Spiegel .
Hardware and software products by Microsoft, Huawei, Cisco
and other leading tech firms are among those reportedly
compromised by the NSA's Office of Tailored Access
Operations, or TAO.
Citing internal NSA documents, Der Spiegel identifies TAO as a
unit "born of the Internet," founded in 1997 and growing
quickly in the years since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11,
2001. In 2010, according to the report, TAO conducted 279
operations around the world.
Officials at the NSA refused to discuss details of TAO's
operations with Der Spiegel , but said its "work is centered on
computer network exploitation in support of foreign intelligence
collection."
The average person may not find much cause for concern in
revelations that TAO has gained access to undersea fiber-optic
cables and spied on the leaders of foreign countries. But the
NSA's special unit has also seen fit to target users of
Facebook, Yahoo and other internet services for exploitation.
While any one person is unlikely to be the target of an NSA
mission, the agency certainly has the desire and ability to spy
on people around the world. According to a classified budget
document, the NSA expects to have backdoor access to 85,000
computers around the world by the end of 2013, up from
21,252 in 2008.
At least one tech giant is taking action. Cisco has launched an
investigation based on Der Spiegel 's report. "At this time, we
do not know of any new product vulnerabilities, and will
continue to pursue all avenues to determine if we need to
address any new issues," John Stewart, Cisco's chief security
officer, said in a company blog post. "We do not work with any
government to weaken our products for exploitation, nor to
implement any so-called security 'back doors' in our
products."
TravelHow To Start A Travel Agency by chriseruba(op): 12:26pm On Jan 02, 2014
Travel agents provide a variety of services to clients that
include purchasing airline tickets, making hotel and resort
reservations, creating itineraries for tour or cruise packages
and providing information about specific destinations. These
days, travel agents may work from home or at an office as
most travel arrangements are made online. To start a travel
agent business, it is helpful to have a working knowledge of
travel agent software, customer service experience and
experience in traveling to different parts of the world.
Step 1
Decide whether to become an independent travel consultant for
a travel agency, franchise owner of an established travel
agency or start your own agency. Independent travel
consultants earn commissions for the work they do for a travel
agency. Consultants may work from home or in an agency's
office. Start-up costs are usually minimal because computer
software; IATA number, which is needed to book flights with
airlines; and office space are typically provided by the travel
agency. A client list may also be provided. As a consultant,
you may be limited in the types of travel services you can
provide clients. Purchasing a franchise allows you to build a
business on an already successful brand, but you may still be
limited in the types of services you can provide. Starting your
own agency allows you to sell a wider variety of travel services
while allowing you keep all the proceeds from each sale.
Startup costs tend to be higher if purchasing a franchise or
starting a business because you will have to finance
equipment, such as a phone, computer and software, Internet
service and marketing materials needed to run the business.
You will also be responsible for building a client list.
Step 2
Determine the types of travel services to offer clients. Travel
services include transportation arrangements (air, train, boat,
car), hotel and resort reservations, cruise packages and
specialized tour packages such as eco-tours or city-based
tours. You may also want to specialize exclusively in family
travel, senior travel, corporate travel or academic travel to set
your business apart from other travel agencies.

for Under $100
Step 3
Lease a space for your travel agency or work from home.
Contact local commercial real estate agents to find available
retail space. Choose a space in a busy retail area with ample
parking. The space should be large enough to meet with clients
while housing computer equipment, furniture and marketing
materials. If working from home, create a space that allows
you to work comfortably at your computer while providing
adequate storage for computer equipment and software,
marketing materials and files.
Step 4
Create a website that includes a description of travel services,
contact information and on-line booking options. Invest in
computer software programs that process client bookings and
payment from your website, track online marketing campaigns
and captures email addresses. Visit websites, such as
Capterra or GetApp, to read reviews about various travel
agency software. Include testimonials of satisfied clients on
your website. Update your website often by providing
interesting content that clients will find useful when planning a
vacation or traveling for business.
Step 5
Purchase general liability or home-based business insurance to
protect your business in the event of a lawsuit or settlement.
Worker's compensation insurance may be necessary if hiring
employees. This insurance helps pay the costs incurred
through an accident or injury at the workplace.
Step 6
Create marketing materials, such as brochures, business cards
and flyers to promote your travel agency. Join the Greater
Houston Partnership to meet business owners and others in
need of your services. Build a client list that includes email
addresses, travel preferences, past travel destinations. Send
email updates of travel specials, events or other information of
interest to clients each business quarter to encourage sales.
Things Needed
IATA number
Travel agent software
Website
Tip
Register your business with the Texas Secretary of State to
form a limited liability company, corporations or
partnership. Register your business as a sole proprietorship
with the Harris County Clerk's Office if opening your
business in Houston.
Warning
You must apply for an IATA number to book flights with
airlines. Visit International Air Transport Association website
for information about applying for an IATA number, fees and
accreditation requirements. If becoming an independent
consultant for a travel agency, you may be able to rent the
agency's IATA number for a monthly fee.

To the manger/ CEO of peace mass transit and the young motors.
sir pls am a student of university of ilorin (kwara state) and am from the eastern part of the country so wen eva we close school i and some other eastern students will have to go home (east) and a reliable and standard transport company has been our problem, sir its important dat u know dat in unilorin there are students from all d eastern state and the south- sounth state inclusive so our population is encouraging including d igbos doing business in ilorin who go to onitsha, aba and portharcourt for there business and other reasons on daily basis but what we pass through the hands of petty transport individuals who charge as big as three thousand five-hundred and fifty naira and still put us in an old wrecked car like a 1997/98 model of toyota previa without an air condition and still shout on us wen we complain ,is tiring for we all ( easterners/southerners) living in ilorin so therefore i am requesting ur companies respectivly to open a park in ilorin and teach these transporters a lesson cos i belive that ur services will out-run them and keep them out of bussiness for a while u can situate d park at places like challenge/post office or tanke where d bulk of bussiness men and students stay sir i will be very pleased and proud of ur company if u do somthing about our transport situation there tanx.
