TheGoodJoe: Midfielders: Andre Ayew (Fenerbahce, Turkey), Mubarak Wakaso (Alaves, Spain), Christian Atsu (Newcastle, England), Kwame Bonsu (Asante Kotoko), Ernest Asante (Al Jazira, UAE), Thomas Partey (Atletico Madrid, Spain), Alhassan Wakaso (Vitoria S.C, Portugal), Jeffrey Schlupp (Crystal Palace, England), Alfred Duncan (Sassuolo, Italy)
The bolded are good and I can bet Alfred Duncan is good because I highlighted how impressed I was with the play of Sassuolo when they played AC Milan. Unfortunately, I did not watch the Napoli - Sassuolo game. In case u haven't seen Duncan play before, he typifies young Batkley of Everton. He likes short, simple but decisive passes in the midfield and around the final third. He also chips in wt his own fair share of goals. Duncan (though agonisingly under rated by Appiah), Partey and tireless Wakaso of Alavez are my best midfielders for the black stars. Another young exciting midfielder is Godfred Donsah of Bologna, though incessant injuries have greatly slowed him down. That said, since the inception of the 21st century, to me, that Kwesi Appiah of Wimbledon remains the biggest scam ever, in the history of the black stars. As much as I wanted the old Gold Coast to lose to the Ivory Coast in the 2015 AFCON final, that Kwesi boy made me feel badly for Ghana. Boy was worse than crap. He could neither trap nor complete a single pass, until he was yanked off before the hour mark. Very useless player |

Chuks contract with Villarreal will expire at the end of the season, so it's possible he will leave... The offers will come because he has done well to attract suitors.. its not until you read it in the news before u will know that clubs are after him.. Danny why? Why Danny? Why this upper cut |

timay: All of you comparing the eagles of old to this present eagles are not serious. I'll prefer this present eagles to the old eagles because , the old ones are more of big players without good team play.
what we have today is more of average players but can do wonder as a team, which is better as far as football is still a team sport.
Look at the eagles of 2013 that won the AFCON, they won because they played as a team instead of individually that we usually have before. That is why we could afford not to have a Mikel and a Victor Moses in the qualifiers and still get superb result because they play as a team and don't rely on the big names. Have you ever wondered why Nigeria did not win anything serious after the AFCON 1994 and wonderful performance on the world cup the same year? it was because after the tournament , most of those guys became popular, went to big clubs and became bigger than the team, hence the ego clashes that happens all the time among the players. They started playing individually and not as a team.
Have you ever wonder why the Las England squad at the world cup surpassed expectations and beat the performance of the Rooney, Lampard et al eras? it was because their game was more of a team play, rather than individual brilliance.
You can bookmark this comment today. This present crop of guys will go far if they keep playing with the same team work mentality. . |

Spain, Germany and France are the last three to have won the world cup, none did it with average players, this is against ur theorem. World class players win u gold not average players. Panama came with average players to try to punch above their weight in 2014, they couldn't stand the heat at the long run, Iceland too in the Euro. Yes unity, team spirit, tolerance, discipline and understanding are the prerequisites to succeeding as a team, buh, u must not Parade average players in order to have/instill these sine-qua-nons. This is where a good coach comes in, Herve Reinard did it with what was left of the aging Ivorian golden generation. Never site England as an instance bkus England just like Africans like gloating. If a coach like Reinard had handled ivory Coast or Nigeria all those years, the result would av been a lot different and more positive. The best African repps in the world cup till tmrw, remain the best assemblage of quality stars with good management, without sentiments, from Cameroun in the 90s, Senegal in the early 2000s to ghana in 2010. In summary, u dont need average players to succeed at the highest level, rather, u need quality players with discipline, team spirit, understanding et al. |

andrew444: This your story dey one kind o ,yet na Bastia of French division 2 mba go ,club wey dey battle make dem no relegate to division 3?
MBA career don finish like this because e no get club
Yeni matalyspor get promotion last season or so ,the coach no want MBA .
Make e go India or Malaysia league or make e come back naija league Wait oo, u claim to know about Nigerian football yet u dont know about the ownership tussle between Warri Wolves and Rangers, over Sunday Mba, that cost him a better move to Europe, masterminded by Amaju Pinnick? SMH At the bolded, the post you quoted said he had to settle for scrubs, and u still put in that line "yet na Bastia of French division 2 Mba go..."? U and use of English sef. Bro, na Bastia be the scrub wey I dey talk of. In absence of the tussle, Mba wouldn't have ended up in a shitty club like Bastia, he had better clubs in top European leagues coming for him but were put off by the tussle. andrew444: Yes MBA was a lucky boy with the eagles .
Now tell me how did pinnick spoiled MBA European dreams ?
Is pinnick MBA agent ? Pinnick was the Delta State FA Chairman then, and was claiming ownership of Mba via Warri Wolves, whereas they already sold Mba to Rangers, tagging him a flop, before the Afcon not knowing Mba's fate had other plans. Luck smiled at him, he got selected by Keshi and shone at the Afcon to attract European suitors. Suddenly, Pinnick emerged outta blue claiming they didnt sell him outrightly to Rangers, causing an ownership tussle btwn dem and Rangers. That ownership tussle scared away many illustrious clubs that wanted him after that tourney, hence, leaving the boy wt scrubs. That thing still dey pain every soccer loving isuikwuato man till mrw. Even Southgate can testify to this, I guess he had an Epl club then, who really wanted the guy, buh for the tussle. |

Once you don't like a player you don't speak the truth that's one thing about you ,it's clearly written all over you . Me hate my own brother? I cant hate my own buh then I cant mince words to favour my own. Mbah was just a lucky boy with the Eagles, nothing special.
