Talking about loaded African teams, Morocco pulls a coup as they add another tank (Oussama Idrissi) into their already dreaded Armoury, as Eredivisie goals wizard, wanted by the two Milan clubs, Juventus and other big European clubs, decides to pitch his tent with the Herve Reinard lead Morocco squad ahead of the Netherlands.
I just pray this Doucoure guy would wake up one morning and say he doesn't wanna wait for the French national team no more, instead, he wants to hug his African heritage by pledging to rep the Ivory Coast abi Senegal sef. This boy is class mbok!
Nicolas Pepe ,omo that boy dey hot ,70 million euros rated ,if he decided to leaves lille he might be African most expensive player ,boy is tearing French league apart ,he might end of as Ligue 1 player of the season .
Pepe is a beast. Imagine these two flanking Connet of Lyon in a 4-3-3 formation, Chai Afcon go sweet oo!!
TheGoodJoe: Shocking Gray is on the bench. I expected him to start due to his pace and Rodgers offensive strategy. Madison and Barnes get the nod on the flanks.
TheGoodJoe: Okazaki did not make the bench. That is an interesting twist.
Calm down, it is not yet uhuru. Rogers is only getting a feel of his new team(squad). Pray KC makes good use of this little Faith showed in him by naming him ahead of Okazaki on the bench, otherwise, the purported new twist might get re-twisted soon.
The FIFA museum located in Zürich, Switzerland has announced that the jersey worn by Super Eagles Captain John Mikel Obi in Nigeria’s 2-0 victory at the Volgograd Arena during the 2018 World Cup has been added to its collections.
Curtisaxel7: I am not comparing myself to Iheanacho. I am not the one that the NFF spent millions of Nigerian taxpayers' money to train, nuture and sponsor from U-15 level to senior level. I am not the one that the NFF took to FIFA tournaments as an unknown rookie player and gave a platform to showcase his talents to the world. I am not the one that was taken to the largest football showpiece on earth despite my poor showings for my club in order to give me an unmerited chance to salvage my career.
I am not even half as privileged as Iheanacho, nor will I ever be. I have not enjoyed any of the support and sponsorship that the NFF gave to Iheanacho. I have no sponsor but myself, I have had to scrape and hustle to make ends meet and still pursue my academic endeavors just like millions of other Nigerian youths out there. So, there's no comparison between me and Iheanacho. I am not jealous of him, some people are just luckier than the others, but comparing me to him at this stage of my life will be like comparing yourself with Dangote's son. It's simply unfair.
Let the Nigerian government give me the same support it gave to Iheanacho, then we can compare achievements.
PS: I am a bona fide Enite. I've been living here for three years now.
Oh ur anger is a that Nigeria invested in Iheanacho and he hasn't done enough to pay back? Plz is he the only person Nigeria has ever invested in abi na him be the only youth team player ever produced by Nigeria? By the way, how handsome are u that u come here everyday telling us how ugly Kelechi looks? Can u be bold enough to share ur pics?
I guessed right, u are an Enit though most times u sound like someone from HT. That said, I know many Enits who showed potentials (what great lions are renowned for), in their different fields of endeavours/studies, and got invested in by the Nigerian govt, just as they did Kelechi. How come u haven't shown any potential that would attract the government to also invest that same tax payers money in u abi na Iheanacho dey hold u back from showing ur own potentials? Kelechi gave them a reason to invest in him, why not also give the country a reason to invest in u, instead of bitching about all over nairaland as though Kelechi stole ur destiny?
Taliban: The days of perpetua nkwocha, mercy akhide, patience dede etc. At some time we were on the verge of making it to the semi finals of the WC. Back then I remembered we had some firebrand women admins, people like Bola jegede and aisha falode etc. Perhaps a lack of investment and most likely no plan or vision has caused the regression.
Curtisaxel7: I don't know why we are getting sentimental because it's Iheanacho. If I were criticizing Morata or Lukaku or even Ighalo, majority of people here would have no issues with it. Can't we be unbiased for once?.
Anyways, mark my words, and bookmark this post, Iheanacho will be in China very soon. You know this, I know this, so let's stop pretending. It's no use sugarcoating he truth. Let's just pray to the God of soccer to provide us with new striking options (preferably FB's playing under thier real ages), but as for Iheanacho, I'm afraid there's no hope.
No vex, Whats ur discipline and Whats ur current GP like? Shebi u dey Eni Njoku abi u follow for dem Hill Top waga-Gees abi na Zik via Maracana? Are u the best in ur class and amongst ur peers? I just say make I ask oo?
Icon4s: It is comment like this that often stir up bad blood on this thread.
Please let's be factual and do our analysis without ethnic sentiments.
I don't care about where the bulk of the players are from cos that is not important. Now talking about their ages, the team is a mixture of youth and experience. In women's Football players get better with age. A large percentage of those players are products of our U20 teams from 2011 to 2017. That means they are mostly in their 20s.
And to ur last sentence, nothing like seggregation. The coach chooses who we wants to include in his team. Thank God the coach is a Swede and not a Nigerian.
U get time to quote such a stupid post. If e too pain him, make him sue the coaches. Ask the guy to name one single young Nigerian female player knocking at the Falcons' door, him no fit. Him think say na to dey open mouth like hungry karuwa dey open leg for brothel dey talk rubbish? Shebi him say Ini Umotong was short out? Too many misguided fellows dun dey infest this thread.
Goalkeeper Dialy Kobaly Ndiaye gets rewarded by Cisse for his impressive performance at the recent Under 20 Africa Cup of Nations in Niger where he conceded only 3 goals and was named in the tournament's best eleven.
Krepin Diatta 19, of Belgium giants Brugge, Sada Thioub from the ligue1 , and Mamadou Loum Ndiaye, a CM by trade, who just joined Portuguese giants FC Porto from Braga complete the list of young tantalising lions called up for the first time, I o prosecute the dead rubber match against Madagascar.
Against Polokwane City in the PSL, at the weekend, Akpeyi doing his usual thing, much to a fan's chagrin. Chai how did we get here? Cant believe this is a Nigerian National teamer.
Here is the Egypt squad we are bound to host. Expect Rohr to call up our regulars, instead of giving opportunities to our fringe/uncapped stars doing well all over Europe.
Which coach favours average players please. wherever they are from ❓
@ the bolded, agreed! No wonder u no longer disturb us with these names Josh Onomah, seyi Ojo, Dom Solanke etc. These three have proven to be below average since the bar was raised a little higher. The worst has been ur precious Onomah who has been a bench warmer for lowly Wednesday in the championship. Ojo doesnt even make Reims match day squad no more. About Solanke, ur xcuses before were bench warmers like Origi and Sturridge, buh now in Bournemouth, what have u to say?
mostob: I didn't composes it. I find it surprising that is why I shared it here.
Bros that was an outdated list compiled about three years ago. Check where u got it, u will see the date and time it was written. U definitely got that from the archives
A post that has Kalu as a Gent player is what u hurriedly posted here? Some of u guys here sha smh
fabyom: Don't mind that Imoh of a guy. I do believe he has learnt his lessons. The only way for him now is UP!
Forget about imoh, he promises nothing no more bkus Dude has permanently lost his way. No more revival, na pension sure pass now. One cant eat his cake and av it
Danielnino00: Let's see.. Cameroon is both anglophone and francophone so I won't count them here..
World cup: Senegal and "our brothers' have made it to the quarter final.. Nigeria has made it to the knockout stage thrice...so Anglophone wins here..
AFCON- (excluding Cameroon again) Franco- 5(CIV and Congo and DR Congo)
Anglo- 9(" our brothers, Nigeria, South Africa ad Zambia)
As for your last question, that's debatable.. But the following anglophone players can make the list of Africa best 20 ever
1) Kanu
2) Okocha
3) Yekini
5) Abedi Ayew
6) Kalusa Bwyala (can't remember the spelling)
Bros Cameroun has 10 regions, 8 out of the ten regions speak French while only a paltry 2 speak English, hence the Francos have it. That said, what are the lingua francas of sudan, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia?
Danielnino00: I pity that guy trying to market the Senegalese here They will still disappoint at the AFCON.. no be today dem dy produce good players..
francophone countries in general always produce good players than most African countries... but to achieve something with them is an issue
Calm down Danny. Choose ur words carefully. Has any Anglophone country done better than the Francos at the World stage? Has the Anglo as a unit, won more Afcons than the Franco? Who are Africa's top 20 players ever? How many are from the Anglo?
