coogar: exactly my sentiments..... the football we played today is the best i have seen in the last 18 months or so. the difference between LVG & moyes is mammoth.
in the present era, we know LVG is couple of defenders away from building a monster squad while playing good football. with moyes, the football was rubbish even on some days we got the results.....it's a gradual process.
however, LVG made some daft substitutions. at 3-3, we needed the input of falcao & di maria the most. unless they were really knackered or injured, they were the wrong players to hook off. rooney & RVP can't keep getting "special privileges" when their performance has been mostly below par when they should be standing up to be counted.
januzaj should be loaned out - he has regressed badly. mata was mata - he's better when he starts games rather than coming on as a sub. the intensity & the pace of the game had overtaken whatever mata was bringing from the bench. leicester had only 5 attempts today & all those 5 shots were converted to goals.
it was so bizarre! Removing Di maria was beyond me when we've RVP that was dulling our game and offering nothing. Don't see any wrong Janizaj did today o. He was still better than Mata that gifted them the 3 point by that 4th goal |

elampiro: That which is your consolation is my annoyance. We are supposed to quickly move ahead of our rivals. We haven't played any big team sef.
Let's hope they sought this things out quickly. Since we're not winning it should be our consolation then |

SailorXY: i see no reason to lament, it was a great game of football. we cant complain about the performance abeg, wetin dey worry man utd fans sef. an unfortunate turn of events turned the game in Leicester's favor, even tho the defending could have been better. we will need our forwards to do a lot of scoring @ least till January. i choose to see the positive improvements in ur football, e be like say una don forget how poorly we dey play until recently the team will gel as the season progresses. hopefully we can have Smalling & Rojo for CB next week, we keep getting unlucky injuries. Rojo at the CB?! He should take the bench. I believe on of our CBs will be fit before then. Rafael, Smalling, Jones and Shaw should have that defence until we buy. They have more epl experience. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 8:09pm On Sep 21, 2014 |
coogar: clatterbütt ruined the game & handed the game to leicester free of charge. we needed to be calm at that point & stop feeling sorry for ourselves then rooney made a horrible clearance to give leicester the equaliser.
i was satisfied with the football we played until the first leicester penalty. we didn't lose to bad football today, we lost because clatterburg wanted a physical game & refused to penalise leicester for their thuggish football"
it's a learning curve - shout out to rafael, blackett, blind, herrera, falcao & di maria. they were good value for money - rooney's captainship should be taken away from him. he's not a leader......at the time the younger players needed guidance today, rooney failed to provide one.
we go again next week.....
the future is bright! The summary is that we lack a leader at the back. Our attack is average without Di maria. I hope LvG is not obsessed with RVP. |

elampiro: E don reach to mention Moyes na. Do you realized we have thrown away 10 points in only 5 matches? Wit all the Di Maria, Falcao, Herrera, Rojo....
I know Gaal is a world class coach, but this is unacceptable. I pray for our team. My only consolation is that other top teams are dropping points. |

Dadehmola: Let's just face it - LVG's refusal to sign an experienced CB affected us today and will surely affect us in subsequent games. Another problem we've is trying to start two CFs with our poor defence. We should pack our midfield knowing the state of our defence. We've two CFs that do not track back instead they remain at the front waiting for the ball while we're overrun in the midfield thereby exposing our defence. We need one of the two men upfront to be tracking back and defending in the mid |

Dadehmola: That was the turning point in the match.
Yeah it was a soft penalty but when will Rafael start exhibiting some maturity especially in situations when he is fouled but the ref waves play on?? Shaw, Jones, Smalling and Rafael should take that defence. They've got more epl experience than others. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 4:06pm On Sep 21, 2014 |
elampiro: * At the end our inexperience defence cost us. The first two goals were avoidable even though they were referee goals. The moment I saw Rafael got up in anger to chase after that ball, I knew he would go with force, instead of shielding the guy he made a hand touch. And the wonderful ref...
* There was some space for Leicester to play in our own 3rd. We didn't do well covering our defence so well. I think we may have to settle for Phil Jones and Smalling partnership. They should be thought to stay fit. We need to try Shaw. We need guys who can keep their feet firm on the ground.
* The substitutions didn't help us. I think Van Persie, instead of Falcao, who should have been substituted. Van Persie overall movement was too static to have been left on the field for 90 minutes.
* It is always a bad thing to keep changing coaches. Moyes should have by now steadied the ship. I think at this time last season, we had played Chelsea and Liverpool, yet we were not as bad on the table. Gaal's newness to EPL is really a problem. I always see about four opponents lurking around our lean looking defence hoping to capitalize on mistakes.
* The other day, Valencia was the last man in defence and opponents were waiting to swoop on him, the worst was that there was no one opened to receive the pass, then Val took the safe option. People thought he was a goat, but now we know better.
* Our confidence is somewhat shattered again. Abeg, no dey mention Moyes here |

Our fullbacks lack protection. Rojo should take a seat on the bench.
The worst is Blackett's sent off. Who takes the CB? Wouldn't want Rojo there |

afrodoc2: LOL That is why on my list he was on the bench. Argentine journalists that have been following his career said he is an okay LB but a mediocre CB. I hope he proves them all wrong, but for now i have seen nothing in him to raise confidence or hope. And some want his pairing with Jones Catastrophy! |

SailorXY: if a player can't hold down his place, he leaves & is replaced. it happens everyday na, & there must be adequate competition in a top team. no two ways about it Exactly. Chelshit has Azpilicueta and Filipe(2 very good LBs) so why can't we handle Shaw n Rojo when one can also play as a CB? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 10:30am On Sep 20, 2014 |
dopeJemi: Rojo and shaw shouldn't be fighting for a spot, rojo and blackett should Rojo is rash for CB and has posted his worst performances there. He's better as a LB. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 10:07am On Sep 20, 2014 |
SailorXY: being lefty no mean anything, he's a footballer & a CB. we can play two lefties in CB if they are the guys fit & ready. Rio & Vidic were both righties & they held CB partnership for six seasons. I think Shaw will get the LB once he's fit, and Rojo compete for a place in CB I said his best position. It's better to play him there cos he'll perform better. Same reason it's better to play a lefty at the LB than at the RB. Righties are more versatile since most of them can use their left better than lefties can use their right. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 9:32am On Sep 20, 2014 |
^^ Blackett is a lefty so his present position is the best n should remain untouched.
I wouldn't play Rojo at the centre half, he's rash for that position. He should fight for the LB with Shaw. |

arsenal are now leading the injury table with 7 players. we are joint second with everton & stoke. chelsea & sunderland are bottom with no single injured player. We're getting better. Others turns are coming |
