It is well with you dear. I pray God for more strength for you and your dad. God is touching and healing him even to the cells that make up his body.

Hephzi darling, howdy. Was asking you your location in Edo State. Guess you didn't see that message.

Hi,

I wanted to respond to this. You need a new biopsy. Forget about the lump removed from the procedure 2 years ago as the information from it is already 2 years old. I wish you well and hope that your follow up tests bring you results that are healthy and cancer free. Please do the follow up.
Hi dear, thanks for the response. I've gone for a scan examination and there was no report of any lump. Was scared because of the pains I was feeling in the breast tissues.

Biopsy? But there is no recurrence of a lump.

What i see on the site is 10gb for N10k http://www.mtnbusiness.com.ng/sme/datashare

That means for you guys to make a profit it has got to be something like 1gb for N1,500. Not too bad huh?

Etisalat and Glo data share nko?

Myself I've since solved my data problems by buying Blackberry Z3 two months ago. Now i enjoy dirt cheap 3gb for N1k using my Glo sim on it, sharing the data with other devices via hot spot.
Hi. Please I just got a BB10 and I want to use a Glo sim for the phone. I can't access the internet. I think something is wrong with the APN settings. Tried calling Glo customer care and they have not been picking up. Can you please tell me what to do? And what plan should I subscribe for? Somebody suggested COMONTH.

Thanks.

candygosh:
Oh that's good. In any other case, you should see an oncologist not just any surgeon. They know best how to handle such cases.
We will remember you in our minds and ask our spiritual sister's to do what they do best. Positive good news is what we r after.
It's well tho, you don't need to worry just precautionary measures.

I was meaning to ask how does the site where you had the lumpectomy feels like. Is it tender like your normal breast tissue or a little tough more like scar tissue.
Thanks dearie. How are you today?

Yea, just a precautionary measure. One can never be too careful.

My dear, its a scar scar oooo! The scar almost disfigured my bosom. My sisters and I jokingly use to say that the surgeon almost removed the nipple grin The surface of the scar is hard but the underlying tissues are soft.

Just confirmed my appointment for Friday

I just stumbled on this thread today. I really do not know what more to say to you ladies. Candy and hepzi you ladies are Strong! God almighty will see you tru dis phase. I had three lumps removed from the both breasts 4 yrs ago. Anoda one was removed two years ago. It was really a hard tym for me. D results showed it was benign growth. Fibroadenoma i think.
You are a strong lady!
HealthRe: BR€AST CANCER Amongst Nigerian Women by Christine01(f): 6:10am On Oct 21, 2014
@ Candygosh, the scan will be focusing on the breast only.

Will run the scan and take the result back to the Doc that gave me the referral. She is already trying to book an appointment for me to see a surgeon at UCH.

ABC @ New Adeoyo Hospital area, Ring Road??

Well, I don't know the quality of medical staff they've got there, but I'll suggest you take the scan first. If you're satisfied with scan and result, all well and good. If you're not, then you should see a specialist at UCH.

All is well.
Yea... That's the place. I don't think they have Medical Docs there, maybe just radiographers and technicians because at a point, I insisted on talking to a Medical Doc and I was told there was none available and I was directed to a radiographer.

Will run the scan there, and do a followup at UCH.

Thanks!
HealthRe: BR€AST CANCER Amongst Nigerian Women by Christine01(f): 4:57pm On Oct 20, 2014
Hi Fam,

How was everyone's day? Mine was quite stressful.

Ok, I had to tell one of my mentors about me wanting to visit UCH today and she adviced me to first visit the school clinic and I could always get a referral to UCH if need be. The process should be faster this way according to her.

So, I went to the school clinic this morning and met the Doc I was asked to see.

I got examined and there were no lumps. The Doc said I was good but since I complained about some pains, she might refer me to go get a mammogram done.

I got 2 referrals from her, one for UCH and the other to ABC clinic. ABC stands for Access to Basic Care, an outfit by the state governor's wife Florence Ajimobi.

Got to ABC clinic and I was told I couldn't run a mammography because of my age. One has to be above 40 to be able get a mammography according to them. The reason being that the breast tissues are still very dense and a mammogram result wouldn't show much.

I was told the other option is to get a scan done instead of a mammogram and I got an appointment for Thursday to do that.

That's a summary of how my day went.

Suggestions and adivce are welcome @ Xcelsia, Candygosh, Hephzi, Odunharry, Osyxcel.

This is a great thread and we really need something like this is Nigeria. Thank you for starting this @ Candygosh
I found a lump almost 2 months ago and I've been to the hospital to have it checked out a couple of times. The last time I visited, the surgeon I was referred to said he could not feel anything and scheduled an ultrasound. Ultrasound too didn't see anything and the radiographer also said he couldn't feel it.
Well, I can feel it though it really is small and the area needs to be pinched in order to feel it.
Before I am totally dismissed as an hypochondriac at my current health care facility, can anyone recommend a stress free place in Lagos where they would be willing to listen and patient enough to run correct tests?
As I've learnt on the oyinbo forums "the best kind of lump is that which is in a jar".
Hi dear,

It's so great that you are very observant of what's going on in your body and you are not taking anything with levity.

I'm sure Candygosh will be able to refer you to some good hospitals in Lagos. Just hold on for her reply.

Candygosh, Odunharry, xcelsia, Hephzi, Osyxcel,
Thanks for all your replies.

Candygosh, the lumpectomy was done in 2012 at University of Abuja teaching hospital. Can I still request for the extracted lump at this time?

Will go to UCH this week and I will be sure to keep you guys updated.

Will try to start eating healthier from now on...

Thanks guys!!!!

Hi ladies, let me first say thank you to candygosh for opening this thread and a big well-done for all the beautiful contributions.

My mum was diagnosed of an aggressive type of breast cancer and in less than 4 months, we lost her. cry cry cry.

Had a lumpectomy some few months later and the histology results came as a benign growth.

I still feel this apprehension like I need to go for further tests and with this month being breast cancer awareness month and all. Pls do you guys know where I can do a mammography? I'm currently in Oyo State.

Thanks ladies.

I relate with you in totality. Loved a Muslim guy so much. To make matters worse, he is the first son and his dad swore that none of his sons and particularly not his first son will get married to a non-Muslim while he is still alive. The man publicly embarrassed me on several occasions. His mum on the other hand loved me so much.

From my own end, my parents weren't taking it lightly too. My mum was even saying that the guy used charm on me cos I loved him so much. She went about seeing some pastors and seeking for deliverance sessions for me. Na small remain wey I no elope.

Had to end the relationship so that everyone except me and him can be happy. That was 4 years ago. He is married now - to a Muslim lady. embarassed
