How can foreigners be mining Yorubaland resources that Yorubas themselves are forbidden from mining?

This is inaccurate History but I trust the Egbas to set the record straight

The Dahomians suffered very huge defeat on both Occasions they invaded Abeokuta

And it was the Egbas who sent the Assassin who finally ended the life of King Ghezo of Dahomey in retaliation For attacking Abeokuta twice

It was even in Oyo Palace that King Ghezo as a Hostage Prince of dahomey raised in alaafin Palace had learnt the Art of Kingdom Administration Politics and Warfare
He was taken as a Hostage Prince to Oyo and Raised by alaafin after one of his father's Rebellions

It was because of the Alaafin of Oyo's Army had defeated the Dahomians heavily at least 5 times and had made Dahomey a Vassal State of Oyo that the King of Dahomey was reduced to recruiting women to make up for the huge shortfall of male fighters lost as a result of heavy troop losses and defeats the Dahomey suffered at the Hands of the Oyos

You are wrong, AD and AC which later became APC is not same party.
Actually AD is the real Afenifere party floated by Ganiyu Dawodu of blessed memory. They were the ones that provided Tinubu the platform to run as governor of Lagos. When Tinubu fell out with them he left and took his structure out of the party to form AC.
I think AD is even still in existence, so educate yourself AD and AC is not same party and yes Tinubu himself defected like any other Nigerian politician.

Tinubu has never left his Party he stayed there throughout every Crisis and grew the Party by merging with others

SoldierPikin:

Yes, Yoruba has never been part of the Banza Bakwai. Some people are re-writing history, probably for political gain like they are used to.

In the 12th Century the Owu Yoruba Kingdom reached Kaduna
War made them Migrate South of the Niger

The Nupe descended from the Owu Yoruba who didn't migrate Southward with the Olowu their King

The Gobir Hausa have strong kinship ties with the Oyo
Gobir Hausa were formerly Nomads who were allies of Oyo and intermarried with them

On one Occasion the Alaafin advised them to establish themselves a Kingdom instead of being Nomadic Warriors moving from place to place

The Gobir took Alaafin's advice and with an Army the Alaafin gave them to help them they established the Gobir Hausa Kingdom

The Name of their King was Bawa

That is why today many of the Gobir Hausa have Oyo ancestors in addition to their Hausa Ancestors

The Army the Alaafin sent to help them establish the Gobir Hausa Kingdom became integrated with the Gobir Hausa people

That was why when a Certain Alaafin wanted to flee from Basorun Gaa he said he was going to take refuge with his relatives in the Gobir Kingdom

LoL...

You go wrote taya (tire)

I had forgotten about you

I was writing for those who don’t know the history of how and why the Oyo kingdom reached Ghana
because you definitely don’t know the History

After the Alaafin of Oyo had thoroughly
defeated and Subdued Subdued the king of Dahomey another conflict Started

If you look at the Map of Ghana you will notice that the Ewe and the Ga Tribe

Of the Accra area stood between the Mighty Ashantis and the Sea

The Ashanti Army threw all they had into overrunning the Ewe and Ga Tribes to reach the sea but failed

because the Alaafin of Oyo had their backs and the Oyos we’re fighting with the Ga and Ewe to Stop the Ashanti overrunning them

They successfully defended themselves against the Ashantis onslaught to reach the sea so it could directly Trade with the Europeans

It was during these back and forth battles that the Oyo and its Allies defeated the Ashanti Army at Atakpame in Northern Togo around 1763

The Ashanti eventually reached the Sea but through a more Westerly different route away from the Ga and Ewe Tribes who the Oyos
had gone to Togo and Ghana to fight on their Side as allies to protect them

Una wan okay with Igbo ...Igbo just Dey quiet dey look ! Once they start !

Hmmmmmm

The Egun,Ewe and Ga Tribes had migrated from Yorubaland and the Alaafin of Oyo was their Protector

The Kings of Dahomey were notorious Slave Traders

The Ewe Egun and Ga Tribes sent to their Yoruba Kinsmen for Military Help when the Dahomians wanted to

Capture them and sell them into Slavery

They now sent a desperate SOS message to their Yoruba Kinsmen for help and the Alaafin of Oyo Responded with his Army

This was in the 17 th Century

The king of Dahomey had actually defeated part of them and sold many of them in to Slavery

That was how the Alaafin of Oyos Army found itself fighting Wars in Ghana Togo and Benin Republic to protect

their Brethren the Ewe Egun and Ga Tribes (They are different clans of the same people and Yorubas call all of them Eguns or sometimes Popos )

It was to save and Protect their Kinsmen from being shipped off to Brazil as Slaves by the kings of Dahomey

In the End Oyo defeated Dahomey and Dahomey was under Alaafin for almost a Century

At the same time Ewe Egun and Ga Tribes also had the Alaafin as their Protector

They are different Clans of the Same People

That was what led to Oyo Empire reaching Ghana

The Dahomey were soon met with victory when they brought down the Oyo Empire and its yoke at Paonignan in 1827. While Brazil's demand for slaves increased in 1830, the British started a campaign to abolish the slave trade in Africa. The British government began putting significant pressure on King Ghezo in the 1840s to end the slave trade in Dahomey. King Ghezo responded to these requests by emphasizing that he was unable to end the slave trade because of domestic pressure

Fake News

Dem no born Dahomey well

They would have run out of Women as well

Oyo was busy fighting Jihadhists

That was when Dahomey took advantage and made a bid for Independence by refusing to pay Tribute

But to bring down Oyo ,Dem no born dem papa Well

Dahomey no fit

The most important Dahomey Princes were held as Hostage princes in the Alaafin’s palace and were being raised by Alaafin Oyo

You will notice that after a While Dahomey preferred to Attack the Egbas of Abeokuta than Oyo, they understood that the lives of their Princes would be at Stake if they tried nonsense again by trying to attack Oyo

Dahomey was a very Stubborn Customer that was why Oyo used Strong Hand to Control them

King Ghezo defeats Oyo in war and ends tributary status of Dahomey. British put naval blockade on Dahomey ports stopping the slave trade. Second Franco-Dahomean War leads to colonization of Kingdom of Dahomey

.

The Oyos had Crushed the Dahomey Army more that 5 times before the King of
Dahomey resorted to using Women to breach the huge Shortfall in Male fighters
On one Occassion the Dahomians Lamented about their defeat at the hands of Oyo that the Ground was full of the bodies of
their Soldiers for as far as the eye could see in every direction

It's so bad that it was women! I mean Dahomey Women that defeated Yoruba warriors ! And put an end to whatever remains of Oyo that Fulani finished in Ilorin

There were only about 600 Dahomean female warriors until the mid-19th century, when King Ghezo increased their numbers to about 6,000. He was likely able to recruit many women to live as warriors because Dahomey women of that time lived in poverty

Una get history shaaa

King Ghezo of Dahomey that sent out those Women was killed by an Assassin sent by the same Egbas of Abeokuta who
he sent those women against

Do you know why Dahomey was down to using Women to fight War

The Oyos repeatedly Crushed the Dahomey Army so badly that the King of Dahomey actually ran out of men
It was after the 5th Crushing by the Oyos that Dahomey had to resort to using Women instead of learning their lesson

I am not Joking
