kenny987: No incitement but the unvarnished truth with all the gory details must be told to stir up the passion and hunger of affected people cos some are so beaten down they don't know there can be any better or don't even have the access to knowledge.
But please, which of the things I enumerated here is being suffered by others other than the Biafrans? Still even if others are experiencing same which is not true and the Biafrans decide that enough is enough, they are not retaliating but just want to leave is there a problem?
There will be no violence provided none is directed at Biafrans under any guise cos I know they will not roll over and play dead in the face of provocation. I hope your advise for against incitements and insults will be heeded by others too, not just Biafrans. I like you logic snd how u construct, was just wondering if all these are channeled to biafra just because of your statesmanship, or is there something else behind it ? |

kenny987: Even with the obvious proof before your eyes u still call it 'supposed maltreatment'? The primary question is, why the unfairness and inequality? Why do they have only 5 states which amounts to minimal representation at all levels while others have 6 and one 7? Why are all regions not allowed to develop at their pace? Can u justify those scores against others when the same people have the lion share of resources drawn mostly from the SS/SE and yet they call the North 'disadvantaged' in education and favour them for admissions? There is no cultural affinity and even the religions are miles apart! The Yorubas have even more similarities with the Hausa/Fulani et al but that is not so with the Biafrans! The spates of killings if Igbos in the North nko?
Finally, do the Biafrans not have a right to self-determination? And if they do why do you think they should not exercise that right? You have seen how they are told that they have no value and produce/contribute nothing to the Nigerian purse so why should they remain in the union? Even husband and wife get divorced due to irreconcilable differences so what is the problem here? If these are d reasons you want to secede, remember all these basis are not pecuilar to only the ibos... If your supposed leaders clamouring for Biafra are sure of themselves, let it be done in a proper way. I mean refferendum, just like it was done in spain recently, no insults, no incitement nothing just in a civilised way |

kenny987: No, that wasn't me. You addressed someone else as Sir not me. So are the cut off marks for Yorubas higher than that for at least Anambra n Imo? Oh! Anambra and Imo are actually 139 and 138 respectively while Abia is 130, so they're even higher than I mentioned. Alright !!! But all this still does not amount to secession. Who is to be blamed for all the supposed maltreatment ? Is it Hausa Or yoruba or lord Lugard ? |

One question, are we at peace with each other in Nigeria? Like I said, if Yorubas are not bothered or concerned about the balkanising of your areas or anything as it is in Nigeria, Biafrans are not happy and wish to be separate. It is no crime. Whether Nnamdi Kanu is faceless or not, it is not your business. They are going about their business peacefully and not being violent so let them be and let no one attempt violence or forceful arrests on them. who said u being a female matters ? kenny987: Nothing could have been louder than the civil war my dear. It did not start now. The name and people of Biafra have resonated ever since. Despite the forced 'reconciliation' after the war the Igbos tried to relax, spread out to various areas in the one Nigeria to do business and any other commitment but everyday they are reminded that they have no stake. Because of elections that every Nigerian is entitled to vote for their choice, they were threatened with lagoon and called ingrates for daring to have a different choice after being 'allowed' by their 'hosts' to settle and pursue businesses.
No economic or infrastructural program was embarked upon to repair the ravages of the region after the war. Instead the Igbos (Anambra, Imo) have to score 130 or more (the highest points) to gain admission into a Fed sec school while the Borno or Zamfara child gets by with 2 or 4. Igbos n ChristianS are killed on a daily basis in the North and that only happens where there is intolerance because u don't share same ideologies!
According to u,they were not the only ones forced into this union and that is true. Tell me then,must they remain in the union? See all the Igbo-speaking areas balkanised n cut off in the name of state creation into Rivers,Delta,Benue n Kogi states. Is it the proper thing to do? It is the only region with 5 states so the least representation at every level. Is this fair?
Do all of these smack of any attempt at honest integration? The people will not force themselves on others and wish to be on their own yet u come here to say it is louder now. I ask again, could they have been louder than war for 3 yrs?! It is a matter of choice. If they have chosen to speak out while others remain mute should that be a yardstick for judging their quest to dissociate from this current union? ( didn't even know u are a female) first of all, the then head of state Gen.Gowon made a giant stride to make sure infrastructures are built to replace the damaged ones. A step which surprised everybody... Regards to d cut off mark for education, if you talk about d marks for education, #smile what will u say abt marks for the yorubas ? I know u will be shocked at it... Also the creation of state, please do u mind going back to how states were created in Nigeria and see how many yoruba parts were also cut off... Please let's have just cause for making a particular move, we are too literate to just keep following somebody who has not probably face what an average ibo or a Nigerian has been thru start inciting us. I will still refer Mr kalu to a runaway fugitive till he can be brave enough to show his face |

zendy: The just reason why Igbos want Biafra is because Nigeria is a British created fraud. Before the British came, Igbos were a loosely bound confederation of clans and villages and we administered our selves how we wanted. The British came, stole their sovereignty, and over night, the British forced the Igbos into a union they did not want. The Igbos fought the British back in the "Ekumeku war" but lost. We fought again to get out of Nigeria in the Biafran war but again lost. The next is war, if it comes to that, is going to be the last one because no sane person can expect the modern day Igbo to be part of Nigeria after killing them. You want a reason why Igbos should get Biafra? Who are you to demand a reason? It is the God given inalienable right of the Igbos to decide for themselves if they want to be Nigerians or not. It was an act of illegality for Lugard to come from Britain to make us Nigerians. Welll thank you for being so on point and constructive... But the problem with igbos is that you think its only you people that were forced under this entity, we alll were. I wonder why the clamour for biafra is now so loud. Y now ?, why is d call resurrecting after Goodluck Jonathan lost his re-election ?... And to point out sir - it was not an act of illegality for lugard , the british only banked on our gullibility, lugard had an authority. |

Nigeria= "Unity by force"
Biafra= "Freedom by choice" You Igbos think its only you people that were forced into being under Nigeria... I will repeat again , the day Biafrans would have a just cause of secession, that day I will join the movement (even though am Yoruba )... Maybe the clamour for Biafra as being so popular because one of your own is no more the president ? |

BishopMagic: The committee also used the criteria that judges whose rulings were dismissed by the appellant court were also disqualified.
That means that even where a judge hands down a conviction it isn't ok unless the appeals court vets the same judgement.
Isn't that indicative that Buhari is searching for judges he knows will give him a conviction only which thus implies that Buhari believes that those to be arraigned in future are guilty even before being tried?
This man will destroy not only our democracy but also the courts. nice arguement but not logical #no offence intended |
