Sweetlemon, sweetest lemonade. Your sister has done well by marrying one of us. Why not follow suit? Marry me and I promise we won't have too many children. Me,I will pity you. . I really can't say cos I'm not bini per say;I'm esan. But I know from way back,it has always been a thing of pride for our men to father many children(since polygamy was almost like a culture to us). It used to be pretty rare to see an indigene who was born and bred in that state, who didn't have more than one wife. Guess the love for kids and a large family plays a major role in that. Most Edo men believe in their names living long after them. Hence, the large army of kids. You can imagine a family like the popular bello-osagie where most of them are doing well. Today, even those who do not belong to that family, but answer Osagie, have some kinda reputation cos most people tend to think they're from that family. All through my time in school,I was always faced with the challenge of telling people I do not belong to a certain Ighodalo family who happens to be a popular chartered accountant from my state. I'm from a large family also and my dad has as much as 15 kids(amongst which are 4 medical doctors/surgeons,1 accountant,1 lawyer,1 pharmacist,2 economists,2 engineers,2 business mgt graduates, etc) You do the maths and imagine how many grandchildren he would have. Eventually, when all his kids succeed and become popular,he would eventually become one of those popular names from the state. I just think we like to create dynasties. ![]() |
GEJ understands that the office of the president should not be ridiculed in a bid to respond to OBJ's self serving letter. I'm sure if it was OBJ,it would have been the other way round. Afterall,we haven't forgotten how he openly insulted the parents of Eedris Abdulkareem cos the boy sang "Nigeria jaga-jaga". Tells you how uncultured and ill-mannered OBJ is. jmaine: Who ever replied that OBJ senile letter with so much class, decorum and respect while still passing the message across did a fantastic job |
I bet most of them do not understand how things work and it's shocking to imagine that with all the problems facing Nigeria, some people actually expect the president to sit down and personally write a letter this lengthy. The kind of things we see on nairaland,is a pure reflection of our society at large. Too many educated illiterates/uninformed folks. It's so disturbing.
@All of you saying you see Abati's signature all over the reply are so unbelievable. Have you lot ever been Bosses before? Even a common Chairman of a company don't sit down to write letters, what is the Secretary employed for? To clean his shoes? I wonder why you lot did not call who wrote OBJ's letter or you believe Baba sat down to write that 18-paged letter? Chai! Ignorance is bliss ![]() This just cleared the doubt that 80% here are either in secondary schools or undergraduates to reason such, even as an undergraduate SUG official, I don't write letters talk more a sitting president. He is jobless if he attempts to do that! This is how it goes: 1. You tell your media officer what you want in a letter and who to address it to. 2. Media officer writes the letter and present to you. 3. You read and make corrections where necessary. Not necessarily grammer correction but making sure your message is being passed properly as you have in mind. 4. Media officer makes the final draft and dispatches the letter. That is being a Boss and not writing some undergraduate love letters. Ndi ara ![]() GEJ just gave it slow and deadly in a very formal and diplomatic way. OBJ is dying slowly politically.
|
Spot on reply. Those saying jonathan didn't answer obj's questions, are either daft/dumb/mischevious. I'm glad he didn't resort to name calling. Matured and classy response. I bet some people were expecting fiery darts and uncouth words. |
I did not miss it. I don't think it's even scam;I think it's stupidity. How will I get to Ghana and see a container that they call university, and still pay for it cos it's govt approved? Makes no sense. Promhize: Did you miss the part that read the school is fully accredited and recognized?? |
Container university of accra...lolz. I'm shocked to know Nigerians are paying for these. This is pure scam. |
What kind of irresponsible people do we produce in Nigeria? So the doctors are going on strike not because of poor working conditions/non-payment of allowances and salaries, but due to a struggle between two associations about who can and who should not be CMD in a hospital? Why are Nigerians these selfish? I think we should be looking at ways of scrapping all these Unions/associations holding govt to ransome all the time, for selfish reasons. This thing is getting out of hand. |
