Hey! Guys, I need help from anyone who has been an undergraduate in the USA. I'm an undergraduate student in the US. My DSO keeps asking me for bank statement or proof of ability to pay in order to update my SEVIS record every semester. I don't owe any money so far. But is this request right? I'm the only international student in my school, it's a small school. I'm enrolled full-time. I pay my tuition as cash comes but no large sum of money kept anywhere to show. My aunt helped me with the previous bank statements. What if I don't show her this semester, she will refuse to update my SEVIS record and I will become illegal. Is this the same requirement in other schools before your SEVIS is updated?

honestly i must say i'm impressed on the speed of the SEVIS FEE Payment and on the Integrity of the person handling it. Before now i thought anything SEVIS would take many days before you see your confirmation. And I tire for too many protocols.

On searching nairaland at random, i came accross this thread, at first i feel say na yahoo yahoo, but the email address was obviously a school i know in the USA and no single entity can acquire that email without being part of that system, So that was the connection point for me.

but lastly the most impression was the speed of payment and confirmation and the Integrity of Mr Olumide. I sent my money to him, In less than an Hour after He made the payment, i got my email confirmation and i downloaded my SEVIS fee receipt.

ALL ON THE SAME DAY.

Nigerian Banks fit cause BP, i go GTbank them tell me say them no get western union. smhhhh

thanks Olumide

So, I've been surfing the net for ages on how to pay for my SEVIS fee as I moved from Bank to bank in lagos without any headway all through last week and no link to anyone abroad, then I decided to check the Internet and I found olumide's post, to be honest I was skeptical as we know this is naija or maybe it was my ijebu blood kicking in. I went ahead and sent him a mail which he responded to within 3mins, he was so easy to talk to about the payment and how he could be of help. I transferred the naira equivalent to him which was surprisingly not at a rip off price and the payment was made. The entire transaction was hitch free, with the payment receipt in my email ASAP. If you're having the same problem I had on the SEVIS fee, Olumide is your go to guy.

Thank you so much and God bless you

this is very true. thanks olumide for helping me too

For real its home. Na my rx300. Yk motors correct guy

Fully airconditioned, sound engine, full option, 6 Loaders, infact as light no dey na inside the car I want sleep.

Meeting Akin Oyedele (yk motors) was right here on nairaland, I can certernly say akin is "one in a million" when it comes to trust worthy Nigerians. Some people tried to discourage me. But I decided to give him a try and he has become the best decision I made in march. Akin took me to cotonou himself. Its my first time outside Nigeria. In cotonou he placed me on a small bike and drove me around the park. The thing I realised about cotonou is not the price but the multiple choices and variety of options you have to pick from. and Ive picked mine and it has been delivered to my doorstep, with custom duty fully paid. And all original documents given to me. FRIENDS ASK LESS ABOUT CAR PRICE, JUST BOOK A DATE WITH AKIN OYEDELE (yk motors), if you have to take one day working leave please do and get down to cotonou yourself and make your choice.
Akin keep up the good work and good job also.

MasterCard grabs Nigeria’s Identity
Card deal Tweet 44 May 12, 2013 | 7:17 pm Finance By Prince Osuagwu Nigerian National Identity Management
Commission, NIMC, has announced
partnership with MasterCard on the roll
of 13 million MasterCard-branded
National Identity Smart Cards with
electronic payment capability as a pilot program. The National Identity Smart Card is the
Card Scheme under the recently deployed
National Identity Management System
(NIMS). This program is the largest roll-out of a
formal electronic payment solution in the
country and the broadest financial
inclusion initiative of its kind on the
African continent. As part of the program, in its first phase,
Nigerians aged 16 years and above, as
well as all residents in the country for
more than two years, will get the new
multipurpose identity card which has 13
applications including MasterCard’s prepaid payment technology that will
provide cardholders with the safety,
convenience and reliability of electronic
payments. The Project will have Access Bank Plc as
the pilot issuer bank for the cards and
Unified Payment Services Limited (Unified
Payments) as the payment processor.
Other issuing banks will include United
Bank for Africa, Union Bank, Zenith, Skye Bank, Unity Bank, Stanbic and First Bank. Expressing happiness at the development,
Nigeria’s Finance Minister, Dr Mrs Ngozi
Oknjo-Iweala noted that “this program
is good practice for us to bring all the
citizens on a common platform for
interacting with the various government agencies and for transacting
electronically. We will implement this
initiative in a collaborative manner
between the public and private sectors, to
achieve its full potential of inclusive
citizenship and more effective governance,” she said. Meanwhile, President, Middle East and
Africa, MasterCard, Michael Miebach, said
that “this partnership is the first phase
of an unprecedented project in terms of
scale and scope for Nigeria.MasterCard
has been a firm supporter of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s CBN, Cashless policy
initiative as we share a vision of a world
beyond cash. From the program’s inception, we have
provided the Federal Government of
Nigeria with global insights and best
practices on how electronic payments can
enable economic growth and create a
more financially inclusive economy”. On his own part, the Director General and
Chief Executive of the National Identity
Management Commission, Chris ‘E
Onyemenam said “we have chosen
MasterCard to be the payment technology
provider for the initial rollout of the National Identity Smart Card project
because the Company has shown a
commitment to furthering financial
inclusion through the reduction of cash in
the Nigerian economy.” He added,
“MasterCard has pioneered large scale card schemes that combine biometric
functionality with electronic payments
and we want to capitalize on their experience in
this field to make our program rollout a
sustainable success for the country and
the continent.” “Access Bank’s involvement in this
project is testament to our ongoing
efforts to expand financial inclusion in
Nigeria,” said AigbojeAig-Imoukhuede,
CEO of Access Bank. “The new identity
card will revolutionize the Nigerian economic landscape, breaking down one
of the most significant barriers to
financial inclusion – proof of identity,
while simultaneously providing Nigerians
with a world class payment solution”. “Unified Payments is the foremost
transaction processor and pioneer of EMV
processing and acquiring in Nigeria,
owned by leading Nigerian banks. We
will use our expertise and experience to
guarantee the success of the project and ensure that the data of Nigerians are
protected. We look forward to working
with other partners in delivering value to
all stakeholders”, said Agada Apochi,
Managing Director and CEO, Unified
Payments. The new National Identity Smart Card will
incorporate the unique National
Identification Numbers (NIN) of duly
registered persons in the country. The
enrolment process involves the recording
of an individual’s demographic data and biometric data (capture of 10 fingerprints,
facial picture and digital signature) that
are used to authenticate the cardholder
and eliminate fraud and embezzlement.
The resultant National Identity Database
will provide the platform for several other value propositions of the NIMC
including identity authentication and
verification. Thanks to the unique and unambiguous
identification of individuals under the
NIMS, other identification card schemes
like the Driver’s License, Voters
Registration, Health Insurance, Tax, SIM
and the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) will benefit and can all be
integrated, using the NIN, into the multi-
function Card Scheme of the NIMS. When fully utilizing the card as a prepaid
payment tool, the cardholder can deposit
funds on the card, receive social benefits,
pay for goods and services at any of the
35 million MasterCard acceptance
locations globally, withdraw cash from all ATMs that accept MasterCard, or engage
in many other financial transactions that
are facilitated by electronic payments. All
in a secure and convenient environment
enabled by the EMV Chip and Pin standard. Upon completion of the National ID
registration process, NIMC aims to
introduce more than 100 million cards to
Nigeria’s over 167 million citizens
