Burger01: When I bought my jeep it came with the thermostat removed and the temp sensor bridged. I noticed the fans switched on the instant I start the engine.

DIY: I read through my car manual and decided to refix the wrong connections.
Got a new thermostat and had it fixed myself. it was one hell of a job but was glad I did it myself. Also unbridged the thermostat after reading the codes with car doctor android app connected to a particular car diagnostic Bluetooth .

Now, my car runs well and the fans come up only when the engine is hot and when my AC is on.

pls give us a step by step procedure on how u fixed it urself. wat brand of jeep is dat

any youtube video is highly welcome too.

The dangers of removing thermostat from vehicles, bypassing the thermoswitch and connecting fans directly have been overflogged nd overemphasized on this forum. we have to move ahead and save our cars as our mechos who are very fast and dogmatic in their belief to remove thermostat are also reluctant when it comes to reversing the procedure to factory setting. since we are evolving to DIY, i would like ikenna, sienna, hanson, car doctor and other knowledgable car techs to guide us on how to reverse this anomaly by ourselves. pls ur inputs are needed. we need step by step on how to go about it. diagrams are welcome. someone can give us d basics before we delve into specific cars.

Update on my transaction with Allworld international.
1. I ordered some items from amazon. They were shipped in 2 batches. First batch got to allworld new york office on 30th oct while the 2nd batch got there on 5th of november.
2. On the 8th of november, I was called by allworld staff dat my item(1st batch) was in dia lagos office and dat I shud cum pick it up.
3. On the 18th of november, I was contacted again from lagos to come pick up the 2nd batch
4. I am based in bayelsa, but they insisted dy dnt courier to bayelsa and dat I must come to lagos. Dat I dint like at all cos I read dy do door to door
5. I finally worked out smth with someone and I got my items yesterday 20th
6. The items were complete and in order. No issues. Excellent packaging.
7. The cost of shipping from US to lagos was ridiculously cheap. Cheaper than transporting it from lagos to bayelsa.
8. From the above stated, the items got to lagos within 7 working days. The items got to me intact. Shipping cost is very cheap, but delivery beyond lagos is a problem and makes the entire cost expensive. They shud look into dat.
9. My verdict? They got a pass from me. I will use them again.
10. NB: Told dem about one anochuks dats hyping dia profile. They said dy dnt have such staff, anyway to d knowledge of the lady dat contacted me. She was really helpful, friendly and polite. Also, wen I called dia new york office to know wen d 2nd package wud arrive, on 2nd dial, someone picked nd gave the right response. Dy r gud, but need to deliver beyond lagos. Door to door? The full tank of that car is about 62 litres, i think you have been scam just like i told you earlier. Don't depend on the litres reading at the filling station. Find a reliable filling station and always calculate your mpg from there just like we discussed on phone. You can hardly find a perfect station in Nigeria, they all have almost adjusted their metres. Funny enough Govt. don't seems to check those things, though you can still find somehwere a bit better than others.
Your half tank should consume about 31 litres , anything less than that is scamming.

dryakson: It sounds silly but belive me or not it is PURELY real. I receive credit alert about a week now notifying me of 800,000 naira into my bank account from an unknown person, I was extremely surprised I even thought is 800 naira until I refresh my eyes and saw 800,000.
I quickly login my mobile money app to see my balance and the money was there.
I called the callable to if anyone sent money to me but non, though I didn't tell then about the 800,000 I asked tactically and uptil now nobody knows about the money.
My fellow nairalanders please advise me before you people hear story that touch.

Should I go and withdraw the money?

Should I wait like months or even year?

If it happens to be the bank mistake, will they hold me responsible after I spent the money?

The money was not paid into ur account mistakenly. The person who did dat transaction kns ur name nd account number . U may be lucky. Dia was a time EFCC was afte a certain well known politician in rivers state who is nw based in abuja, he asked his bank to diverge his money into ppls accounts to reduce suspicion. It may have happened to u. But my advice is- go see the bank manager of the issuing bank

I urgently need help with a Toyota Sienna Le 1999 my old folks are using in the village. Black smoke presently coming out of the exhaust tail pipe. Consumes fuel like a Camel preparing for a desert trip. Couldnt fix it in Asaba, so drove it to lagos without the Air condition on.
Total fuel consumed was 210 approximate for 230Km. (the ABS light came on and speedometer stopped reading) it was killing.

I REALLY NEED HELP!! as my mechanic here, hasnt been of much help or has exhausted his knowledge base.

I just bought a little scanner because the check engine light is permanently on.

The scenario is as follows:

1. New plugs (All six were changed) installed.
2. Black smoke persists
3. High Fuel consumption
4. It stall and suddenly picks(Did not do this on the highway)
5. The RPM drops
6. If you try using the AC the RPM will plummet unless you rev the engine for a while
7. The speedometer stopped reading just before Agbor en-route Lagos till now
8. ABS light is now on permanently
9. Check Engine Light is on
10. Last mileage excluding current trip from Asaba to Lagos is about 187,300 miles?(Odometer suddenly stopped reading)
11. The following error codes from the little scanner i just got and need help with what to tell my Mechanic/Electrician on what to do:

IGNITION ON;
A - P0100 - Mass or Volume Air Flow"A" Circuit
B - P0110 - Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit
C - P0500 - Vehicle Speed Sensor "A"

IN MOTION;
D - P0171 - System too Lean Bank 1
E - Air-Fuel Sensor Circuit Range performance
F - Air-Fuel Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Malfunction

Noticed some hissing sound and slight rattle from my center port on arrival from the long trip. (Bumped some potholes driving into Lagos)

Am not perfect but D, E, F are caused by A and B. C is responsible for ur speedometer, odometer malfunction. Check ur mass airflow meter sensor for dirt and clean with ethanol. Check ur airflow meter filter and dust it or change it. Check for leakages in d vacuum system. Ikenna will be helpful in vacuum system. Check d electrical connectors. For P0500 code, d culprit sensor goes bad easily in toyotas nd is easy to replace but difficult to find in our market. P0500 will cause a mafunction in d speedo nd odometers nd can cause erratic nd rough transmission shifts.. Bro, u r on d right trac, having scanned the vehicle. Goodluck

2days ago FRSC bayelsa command identified a stolen honda EOD which was being registered for the new plate number. To the 2nd owner, he bought a tokunboh car from lagos, brought it back to bayelsa and went ahead to register for d new plate number. It was dia dat FRSC discovered on dia system dat the car had been registered. Dy pulled d original information on the car nd called d phone number d car was registered with. The original owner picked and confirmed her car was stolen on 9th of september at gunpoint. Meanwhile the new owner purchased the vehicle on the 19th of september. The woman came down to bayelsa with her husband. The car, original owner and d 2nd owner were handed over to police. Kudos to the new vehicle registration scheme. The question is, hw wud one avoid purchasing a stolen vehicle. Wat r d tips or measures one shud take. Wat d signs dat shuyd raise suspicion. Ur input is needed. Anybody can fall victim
